There Is Lots Of Frustration and Grumbling circulating the past couple days about potential delegates not being able to access the “2016 Republican National Convention Delegation Application” form on the AZGOP website. Complaints have surfaced that web site link http://arizonagop.org/how-to-become-a-delegate-to-the-2016-state-or-national-convention/ - that AZGOP Communications Director Tim Sifert put out to the Executive Committee several days ago - required a password to get to the delegate application form. You must apply on line. However, the AZGOP hadn’t provided a “password” in Sifert’s memo. That set off a buzz among the folks who wanted Chairman Robert Graham censured during to the Jan 23 state meeting. What the heck is the head shed up to this time? Why can’t potential grassroots delegates access the application? Do a chosen few have the password so they can fill out the application before the grassroots folks can access the form? Is the deck quietly being stacked in an effort to control who the delegates will be? In light of the recent state convention, state/precinct committeemen are wondering what kind of shenanigan is this? Questions keep coming since it is no secret that the national establish doesn’t want frontrunner Donald Trump on the national ticket. You can read the rules/regulations at http://arizonagop.org/how-to-become-a-delegate-to-the-2016-state-or-national-conventions/ Briefs has learned that you can go directly (no password required) to the delegate application form at http://arizonagop.org/2016-republican-national-convention-delegate-application/ or go to www.azgop.org and Click on “Conventions 2016” on the left side for both documents. Editor’s Note: All three links were operational at post time.
The Republican Party of Maricopa County’s Executive Guidance Committee has voted overwhelmingly to oppose both the state house and state senate versions of the National Popular Vote legislation currently being considered by state lawmakers. The vote of opposition is rooted in concerns that the two bills would grossly change our electoral system and render the will of Arizona voters subservient to that of high populace, liberal states such as California and New York, according to MCRC Chairman Tyler Bower. He asks all Precinct Committeemen to immediately contact your state legislators, by email AND phone, to tell them to OPPOSE the National Popular Vote legislation. When emailing, please use the subject line: OPPOSE National Popular Vote . You can use the new MaricopaCountyGOP.com Resource Center to look up your legislative district, contact your elected officials, access the Arizona legislature’s Request To Speak (RTS) system, and more, Bowyer said. Bowyer requested that Legislative District Chairmen share his message with their Precinct Committeemen. Editor’s Note: You can also find your LD, legislators, or bills at http://azleg.gov/
Briefs Was Informed Late Last (Wed) Night that Rev. Franklin Graham, son of National Evangelist Billy Graham, will be at the Oregon compound at roughly 8 am, this morning (Thurs, Feb 11), along with Nevada State Legislature Michele Fiori and four other unnamed elected officials. There are three men and one woman still holding the compound outside Burns, Oregon. Sixteen other members of the constitutional protest, including Ammon Brannon, have already been arrested and are currently in federal custody. According to the informant, the FBI has agreed to allow the compound occupants to walk out, place their weapons, unloaded in their personal vehicles, and then walk to the FBI check-point where the Rev. Graham and Rep. Fiori will meet the four current occupiers.

AzCDL Alert: Hearings Scheduled - Act Now - HB 2081 and HB 2224 are scheduled for House Committee of the Whole (COW) debates on Thurs, Feb11. A COW hearing is where the entire chamber debates the merits of proposed legislation. For gun related bills it usually means a lot of wailing and whining by pro-oppression legislators eager to disarm you. Now is the time for you to contact your Representatives and urge them to support these bills, using AzCDL’s Legislative Action Center.
HB 2081 would prohibit checking with any federal or state database on private property transfers. That means someone privately transferring a firearm cannot be forced to undergo a NICS background check. email to your Representatives on HB 2081.
HB 2224 would prohibit the state or any political subdivision from charging or levying a fee, tax, assessment, lien or other encumbrance on the transfer of a firearm between private parties if the transfer is legal. email to your Representatives on HB 2224. Click on the bill number and follow instructions. Your letter can be sent as is or you can edit the main message with your own comments.

SB 1266 would allow for injunctions, fines and civil suits when state agencies or local governments disregard state firearm preemption statutes. Time to punish local demagogues who disregard your rights. Click here to send your email to your Senator on SB 1266.

LD23 Chairman Jim O’Connor reminds voters who are in opposition to National Popular Vote (NPV) should be flooding AZ Senate President Andy Biggs firstname.lastname@example.org office with phone calls and e-mails demanding a NO vote on the National Popular Vote Bills now in his senate chamber. The House passed HB2456 last Friday and sent it to the Senate. Senator Don Shooter prime sponsor of SB 1218 (the twin bill of HB 2456) is hot to move forward given his current 20/10 members in favor of NPV advantage. Biggs reports that he is receiving calls in favor of the NPV at a ratio of 2/1. O’Connor says, “This is the CQ paid machine doing what they get paid to do. They are also assisted by the democrat machine. Andy needs to hear from us at his office. because he stands with us against these horrible bills. But he now needs the evidence of our strength.” See report by Heritage Action in their "Daily Signal" E-Publication http://tinyurl.com/j9prh8c Also read www.NoNationalPopularVote.Wordpress.com
Senate Conservatives Fund President Ken Cuccinelli ll: The Republican establishment is getting crushed in the presidential race. Despite the best efforts of party insiders to prop up their favored candidates, it's the anti-establishment outsiders who are leading the race. The grassroots are winning on this front, but now we need to take the fight to the congressional races to send Washington a message!
If we have learned anything over the past year, it's that the kind of Republicans we elect matters. We're never going to change Washington by electing Republicans In Name Only (RINOs) who are more interested in cutting deals with the Democrats than supporting and defending the Constitution.
The GOP establishment will pull out all the stops to elect more Republicans who will betray our principles. If we want to send courageous conservatives to DC who will stand up to the big spenders in both parties and put the brakes on the president's radical agenda, then we need to rise up right now and help fund these campaigns.
Obama’s Budget By the Numbers President Obama has released his last budget proposal, which amounted to another a liberal wish list. The big-spending, deficit-driving budget was rejected by Republican Study Committee members as “dead on arrival” and “not serious. Here’s what Obama’s budget does, by the numbers…
Sets a record for new spending. The $4.1 trillion proposal is the costliest Obama budget yet and the first $4 trillion budget in federal history. Congrats or something?
· Increases taxes by $3.4 trillion. The Obama budget places a particularly heavy burden on small businesses and highest earners. Among his proposals is raising the top capital gains rate, already one of the highest in the world, to 28 percent.
· Introduces a $10.25 per barrel oil tax. That’s even higher than previous estimates released last week. A report released by the non-partisan Congressional Research Service said the tax would likely be passed down to consumers, increasing the price of fuel and other goods and services that rely on it for transportation. The impact would hurt economic growth.
· Gives another $1 billion to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). That’s a 4.7 percent increase in the agency’s funding. You might remember the IRS from such hits as targeting conservatives, channeling millions from taxpayer assistance into employee bonuses and admitting that hundreds of thousands of taxpayers had their information compromised in a data breach last year.
· Adds $9.3 trillion to the national debt. The budget would increase our national debt to $27.4 trillion over the next decade – more than twice the debt when President Obama took office.

Regarding Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick’s support of Obamacare, Sen John McCain’s campaign campaign says, “Obamacare has been a tremendous failure throughout the country, especially in Arizona. John McCain is fighting to repeal and replace Obamacare and put patients back in charge of their health care decisions. Unfortunately, Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick continues to support the failed health care system, aimlessly following President Obama and her Democrat party handlers."
