Republican Briefs

Editor - Frosty Taylor repcomm@cox.net or frostytaylor@cox.net    Web Master John Strasser

A Resolution Calling For AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham’s Resignation at the April 30, 2016 State Convention has been submitted to the AZGOP by LD18 Precinct and State Committeeman A J LaFaro. In accordance with the Continuing Bylaws of the Arizona Republican Party Article VI Section F. Resolutions, the Graham Resignation Resolution was submitted at least 45 days before the April 30, 2016 Arizona Republican Party's (AZGOP) 2016 State Convention.  LaFaro wrote, “I expect the resolution be immediately forwarded to the Resolutions Committee Chairman and Committee Members with an e-mail acknowledgement of receipt being sent to me at aj_ml@hotmail.com I also expect the submitted resolution be sent to each delegate and alternate with the “Call” of all of the state convention in accordance with the Continuing Bylaws of the Arizona Republican Party Article VI Section F(2) Procedures. I have copied several Arizona Republican leaders and at the RNC as "witnesses" in hopes this resolution isn't sabotaged like resolutions were in 2014, 2015 and 2016.” LaFaro encouraged “those individuals to volunteer to be the Chairman and Committee Members of the Resolutions Committee so the chicanery pulled in 2014 and 2015 doesn't happen again,” referring to a complaint under investigation of alleged violations of Robert's Rules of Order and the AZGOP Bylaws during the Jan. 23, 2016 Mandatory AZGOP meeting.

AZGOP State Convention Delegates’ Resolution

Demanding Chairman Robert Graham Resign

We, the 2016 State Convention Delegates of the Arizona Republican Party (AZGOP) are obligated to hold all of our leaders accountable for their actions. Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both in as much Robert Graham is by far one of the worst Party Chairman the AZGOP has ever endured. So with conviction we rise and declare:

WHEREAS, Chairman Robert Graham has continued to violate the Arizona Revised Statutes, the Bylaws of the Arizona Republican Party, the bylaws of several of the County and Legislative District Republican Committees, and the latest Edition of Robert’s Rules of Order; and

has repeatedly disregarded and disrespected the will of an overwhelming majority of the AZGOP State and Precinct Committeemen; and

has conducted dictatorial actions that have been calculated and an insidious conspiracy - including but not limited to the AZGOP 2016 State Convention - for his personal benefit, the benefit of his cronies and the Republican establishment cabal.

BE IT RESOLVED that Robert Graham’s constant intimidation, bullying, overreach and unilateral policies will no longer be tolerated;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the AZGOP State Convention Delegates censure Robert Graham for his continued disservice to our Party, State and Nation;

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED the AZGOP State Convention Delegates have lost confidence in Robert Graham, will no longer support him or his actions and demand his immediate resignation.

LD23 Chairman Jim O’Connor Has Issued A Call To Action regarding SB1416 - state board; superintendent; powers; duties - that has been repackaged as a Strike Everything bill introduced by LD20 Rep Paul Boyer as SB1313. The bill will be heard at 2 pm., Wed., March 16 in HHR4 at the state capitol. According to O’Connor, “This striker bill strips powers from our elected Supt of Public Instruction Diane Douglas and hands power over to the unelected State Board of Education, which saddled us with Common Core.” Boyer’s 74 page Striker Bill HB1313 can be viewed at proposed/h.1313boyer.pdf O’Connor can be reached at jwo@ronnoco3.com SB1313 opponents can contact AZRA Education Committee Chairman Vicki Alger at 602.363.8475. O’Connor also urged voters to contact the House Education Committee members and tell them:

· The people elected Supt Diane Douglas

· We want the will of the people respected

· We don’t want any more authority stripped from her office

· The unelected State Board of Education cannot handle its current duties—the last thing we should be doing is giving them more to do.

CD1 Candidate David Gowan: Our campaign is hard at work spreading our message of limited government and proven conservative leadership across the First Congressional District. This week we need volunteers for the Pinal County Fair in Casa Grande on Friday and/or Saturday. We also have a great opportunity for you to help us collect signatures at your local polling place on Tuesday, March 22nd. This is also a great chance for you to get your Precinct Committeemen signatures if you haven’t already done so. If you can help us out for even just one hour at any of these events, please email my Campaign Manager Trey Terry at trey@gowanforarizona.com or call him at 928-235-8257. Congresswoman Martha McSally: March is Women’s History Month, a time when we celebrate pioneering women, their accomplishments, and the barriers they broke down. Yet, for the pilots who paved the way for all women to serve in our military, the fight against sexism continues. The Women Airforce Service Pilots, or WASPs, were the first women to fly planes in the military and stepped up to serve when our country needed them most. They deserve the right to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, a right that was recently taken from them. I’ve led the fight in Congress to reinstate the WASPs at Arlington. Last week, I spoke with CBS News about our efforts. WASP press-conference

German Voters Turned To The Far Right in droves yesterday in a damning verdict on Angela Merkel's open door border policy. In regional elections she was humiliated by the anti-immigrant AfD – Alternative for Germany – party. Formed just three years ago, it has surged in popularity following Mrs Merkel's decision to roll out the red carpet for more than a million migrants. Continue Reading...

Congressman Matt Salmon, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, today applauded the final passage of bipartisan legislation he introduced that would promote Taiwan’s participation as an observer in the International Criminal Police Organization, or INTERPOL.

“There is no good reason to categorically exclude a vibrant nation like Taiwan from membership in INTERPOL.  The Taiwanese government faces the same disturbing international criminals as other nations in the world. In addition to encouraging the full sharing of information on international criminal gangs, terrorists, and bad actors worldwide, the bipartisan bill I introduced continues the United States’ very important show of solidarity with the democratic Taiwanese government.  I look forward to this bill quickly becoming law.” Background: INTERPOL was designed to promote the widest possible mutual assistance between all criminal police authorities in the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.  From 1964 until 1984, Taiwan enjoyed full membership in INTERPOL, but was removed when the People’s Republic of China applied for membership.  This bill, first introduced by Congressman Salmon in 2015 and sent to the Senate in November, will require the President to develop a strategy to obtain observer status for Taiwan in INTERPOL.  Specifically, it requires an official request for observer status for Taiwan, active urging of member states to assist in the effort, and a status report to Congress.

Zack Taylor, National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers (NAFBPO) Chairman and Border Security Expert: This administration, aided and abetted by Congress, has rendered the Immigration Law Safeguards of America irrelevant, to include the physical border.  Chinese, Pakistanis, Indians, Middle Easterners, etc. continue to stream across the southern border without inspection. Sanctuary Cities are the root of the problem that pose the greatest danger to America because they not only allow criminals to live among us they provide an invitation to safe haven for them to enter illegally and as they ply their trade in crime.  Providing such inducement and sanctuary is already against the law, see 8 USC 1324.  This is terribly wrong and amounts to a combination of Nero fiddling as Rome burned and Chamberlain warming to Hitler.  This must be stopped.

…an illegal alien is a non-citizen who is present in a country unlawfully or without the country's authorization.[2] This could be because they overstayed their welcome or they slipped through the border undetected. Moreover, Sancturay Cities, the Asylum and Refugee processes as currently misapplied in America (Trojan Horse), pose the greatest threat to America that has ever been applied by any enemy at any time in our history and it is elected American officials and appointed bureaucrats that are successfully waging this war against America.  To ignore this threat is to be complicit with the application of tactics (The Art of War) described centuries ago.  The threat is that clear. If you don't understand this you simply are not paying attention.  The signs are everywhere.  Please read and heed today's below article from Conservative Review for current details about five Americans killed by one Illegal Alien (8 USC 1365) that should not have been in America in the first place as a direct result of unlawful Sanctuary City Policies in Kansas. Every state in the Union is now a Border State because of unlawful Sanctuary City policies.  Kansas is just the latest example of the moment.

Candidate Commentary

Please comply with the 300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit, it will be edited.

Scottsdale City Council Candidate Virginia Korte: Last week I shared with you how proud I am about the remarkable revitalization Southern Scottsdale is experiencing.  It is truly worth celebrating.Here is an important fact not many people know about this wonderful area of our city:  Southern Scottsdale comprises 4% of the city’s landmass.  However, 20% of our entire city’s population lives south of Osborn Road.  And the population is growing.
More and more people are moving to Southern Scottsdale.  New businesses are starting and some of our older ones are thriving again.  SkySong continues to expand, so now there are almost 2,000 people working there.  New restaurants are also being planned on its campus that will attract more people to the area.  Additionally, existing home values are appreciating at greater rates than most regions in the Valley.
It’s great news for our economy and the quality of life throughout Southern Scottsdale.  But that success is generating more traffic than ever.
In order to sustain the revitalization of Southern Scottsdale, it’s vital that we avoid critical mass on our streets by accommodating the transportation needs of our workforce, residents and visitors.  That’s why Southern Scottsdale is such an integral part of the 20-year Transportation Master Plan, including possible bus and rail routes in the McDowell Road Corridor. I urge you to take part in the dialogue about the Transportation Master Plan when the City Council reviews and discusses it later this spring – because it’s important that we have as much citizen input as possible.
