Ted-Cruz-Rally: Cruz Calls Kasich 'The Spoiler' Ted Cruz, the high-octane conservative U.S. senator from Texas, made the case Friday night in Phoenix that he provides the only viable alternative to GOP front-runner Donald Trump. During a nationally televised appearance before a raucous, at-capacity crowd at Arizona Christian University, Cruz criticized Ohio Gov. John Kasich for staying in the Republican race and continuing to split the anti-Trump vote. Kasich has won just one state this primary season: his home state.

Mike Monahan, 65, A Captain Of The Navajo County Sheriff's Search And Rescue Team, was the victim of a fatal ATV accident near Superior on March 17. Pinal County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the death of an ATV rider on a trail near the Picket Post Trailhead outside of Superior. At about 8:30 p.m. on March 17, Sheriff Paul Babeu said, “Our initial investigation into this tragic death shows that this was most likely an accident. Evidence at the scene showed the man most likely lost control of his ATV causing him to drive off the trail and into the wash. The impact of the fall off the eight-foot ledge caused the victim massive head trauma.”

Sheriff-David-Clark: John-Kasich-Pulled-Over-Video Conservative Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke posted a resurfaced video of Presidential candidate John Kasich on Twitter Wednesday. The video shows the governor in a traffic stop from 2008. In addition, Clarke called Kasich a “rat bastard” and accused him of lying.

Congresswoman Martha McSally addressed the “Head Over Heels” Women’s Business Conference and Expo hosted by the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at noon today at the Desert Diamond Casino in Tucson.

Robert Weaver: A lot of people have brought up the fact that they won't vote for Trump if he's the eventual nominee. I just want to put something in perspective. Justice Scalia's seat is vacant. Ginsberg is 82 years old, Kennedy is 79, Breyer is 77, and Thomas is 67. Nowadays, the data shows that the average age of a Supreme Court retirement or death occurs after 75. These are 5 vacancies that will likely come up over the next 4-8 years. The next President will have the power to potentially create a 7-2 Supreme Court skewed in their ideology. Think about that... 7-2. If the next President appoints 5 young justices, it will guarantee control of the Supreme Court for an entire generation. 7-2 decisions will hold up much more over time than 5-4 decisions which are seemed to be lacking in mandate.
Hillary has made it clear she will use the Supreme Court to go after the 2nd Amendment. She has literally said that the Supreme Court was wrong in its Heller decision stating that the Court should overturn and remove the individual right to keep and bear arms. Period. Everyone saying that they won't vote for one candidate or the other if they are the GOP nominee, please realize this. If Hillary Clinton wins and gets to make these appointments, you likely will never see another Conservative victory at the Supreme Court level for the rest of your life. Ever. Now, this is scary! If you are a Conservative, a vote for anyone but the GOP nominee, whomever that will be, is a vote for Hillary Clinton.

Dear-America: Delegate-Says-Establishment-Decides-GOP-Nominee, Not-You --- Are-You-Ok-With-That? This delegate just said that We the People aren’t actually the ones who decide who we want in office — that it is the Establishment that does that. Do you agree with him?

How-The-GOP-Elite-Plan-To-Rob-Donald-Trump Cleveland, ladies and gentlemen, won’t be for the faint of heart

Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Diane Douglas today announced her intent to specifically target parents during a statewide outreach campaign that will extend to all corners of Arizona. “Parents are the strongest and, in my opinion, only true advocates for education for their children,” said Douglas. “Without knowing the will of parents, politicians do little justice to education policy and a great disservice to the children of Arizona.” Since her inauguration, Douglas has focused heavily on incorporating parents in developing education policy within the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). Beginning in 2015, Douglas has sought to include parental feedback within education decisions, including conducting a statewide listening tour which culminated in the AZ Kids Can’t Afford to Wait! education plan. See plan at www.azed.gov/weheardyou. The public can submit suggestions for consideration at AZParentVoices@azed.gov.

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu was notified late yesterday of a favorable U.S District Court ruling in the matter of Longoria v. Pinal County, involving a 2014 deputy-involved shooting. Judge Susan Bolton granted summary judgment in favor of Pinal County, Sheriff Paul Babeu and Deputy Heath Rankin, clearing them of any wrong-doing in the case. Babeu said of yesterday’s favorable ruling, “I have faith in our judicial process which considers the totality of the known facts in coming to the right decision. The judge in this case heard the undisputed facts and determined the deputy’s response to Mr. Longoria’s actions was reasonable and did not violate any constitutional rights or state laws.”

160317-1945 - AZRRT Call To Action – SB1416  By Jose Borrajero    www.twitter.com/azrrt1   www.facebook.com/azrrt   http://www.publicrecord.report/category/alerts/

SB1416 has been assigned to the House Appropriations Committee, but a hearing has not been scheduled. We must keep it that way: this is the third time during this session that we issue an “all hands on deck” appeal. We do not do this lightly. It is extremely important that we kill SB1416. If you are consider yourself a protector of the right of “we the people” to have a direct voice at the state board of education, then you must respond by contacting the members of the House Appropriations Committee and request that the house appropriations committee do not schedule SB1416 for a hearing, but instead let it wither on the vine. (rts testimony not available at this time). Contact information for the members of the House Appropriations Committee:

Here are rebuttals to the two most often used arguments in favor of SB1416:

Bogus Argument #1: Read the AZ constitution. The legislature has the power to define the role of the Superintendent of Public Education.

Rebuttal #1: Of course the legislature has that power. But we the people want the legislature to give the SPI the maximum level of power allowed under the constitution, not the minimum.

Bogus Argument #2: Half the bill was written by the SPI’s chief of staff.

Rebuttal #2: It is a bad bill, no matter who wrote it. This is not about the current SPI or the current chief of staff. It is about the office of the SPI, currently and in the future. It is about the people having the loudest possible voice at the SBE.

For more information on this, check out the attached file containing a letter from the SPI to legislators.

This morning AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham released the schedule of delegate election meetings to be conducted by the 40 county and legislative district Republican committees throughout Arizona. The elections are held between March 26th and April 9th and the 1,251 winning delegates will attend the Republican State Convention April 30th.

The delegates to the State Convention vote for delegates to attend the Republican National Convention, held in Cleveland from July 18 to 22, where they cast their vote for the presidential candidate who wins Arizona’s March 22 election.  Arizona will send 58 delegates to the National Convention.

“This is an exciting process and it’s a great time to be a Republican in Arizona — we’re seeing a tremendous amount of participation unlike anything we’ve experienced in recent elections, and the Arizona Republican Party is well-positioned to make sure we do our part to see that a Republican takes the White House in November,” said Graham.

Tickets to the convention are available here.

Any registered Republican is eligible to stand for election in their district to become a delegate, and the votes in that election are cast by each district or county’s precinct committeemen. Visit www.azgop.org and the “Conventions 2016” menu for more information, and enter your address at this website to find your district.

CONGRESSIONAL STATEMENTS

Please comply with the 300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit, it will be edited.

Congressman Paul A. Gosar after submitting a language request to the House Appropriations Committee aimed at prohibiting senior executives within the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) from receiving bonuses: “It is unconscionable that Lois Lerner and other dishonest senior officials within the IRS have received more than $100,000 in bonuses in recent years. Committing perjury, purposely disposing of hard drives and more than 24,000 emails in order to stymie an investigation, and providing an extremely poor level of service to taxpayers doesn’t warrant a bonus of a penny in my mind, let alone nearly $6 million dollars in the last 5 years. At a time of soaring deficits, and with a federal debt in excess of $19 trillion, allowing lavish bonuses to continue to go to senior management within the IRS is especially wasteful. Most hard-working, law-abiding Americans haven’t received bonuses during these tough economic times. Neither should corrupt government bureaucrats that illegally targeted conservative organizations.”

The Arizona Delegation Of Congressmen Paul Gosar, Trent Franks, Matt Salmon, Martha McSally, Along With Senators John McCain And Jeff Flake today called on the Acting Administrator of the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) to prevent cuts to Medicare that would hurt Arizona seniors. The cuts were proposed recently in a notice about Medicare coverage rates for next year. “Over 43,000 retired teachers and other retired state employees in the Arizona State Retiree System (ASRS) depend on MA Retiree Coverage that is critical to preserve as it offers seniors robust, well-coordinated, quality care for its beneficiaries including access to disease management tools and prescription drug coverage,” the lawmakers wrote in a letter to Acting CMS Administrator Andy Slavitt. “Adopting these dramatic cuts to a popular, successful program would only place burdens on beneficiaries by increasing premiums, reducing benefits, and narrowing provider networks for Arizona’s retirees.”

Sen Jeff Flake: In the past year, I’ve published several oversight reports detailing some of the unbelievable and egregious ways federal agencies are wasting your hard-earned tax dollars. There were the cash bonuses paid to recovering drug addicts for simply not doing drugs. There’s the funding to promote tourism in Lebanon , a country that the State Department warns is unsafe for American tourists. And there’s the study to study marmosets on treadmills …for potential future studies.

While several projects and practices targeted in those reports have since been addressed – including eliminating millions of dollars for paid patriotism and freeing billions of dollars tied to old transportation earmarks – others are left to waste away.

So, in the spirit of March Madness, those wasting away tax-payer funds find themselves on the most busted bracket you’ll see this month – my third annual #Egregious8 tournament of waste.

Yesterday, I tipped off voting for the #Egregious 8 on Fox and Friends where I highlighted some matchups from the first round – including a $707,000 shrimp fight club and $1 million to put marmosets in exercise balls on treadmills. First round votes can be cast through March 25 on my #Egregious8 webpage , official Facebook page , and on twitter using #Egregious8 . Along with the tournament, I unveiled WasteLine, a new initiative to solicit tips on potential government waste. Tips can be left by calling (202) 224-4521 and then pressing 6 or online by clicking the WasteLine icon at flake.senate.gov .

ARIZONA ELECTED OFFICIAL SPEAK OUT

Please comply with the 300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit, it will be edited.

Scottsdale City Councilwoman Suzanne Klapp: There is little about City Council meetings that I cannot tolerate. I support freedom of speech and welcome people to come to the City Kiva and express their opinions about many subjects. My patience is very well established.

Fault me if you want, but enough is enough when a Satanist group, not even based in Scottsdale, wants to disrupt our meetings by giving an invocation to the entire Council meeting audience. And it is certain this will be a disruption.

The group applied to come to the meeting in April, then backed off when the city administration approved the request. It was obvious the group was just testing our response. We had a slight reprieve, until they came back with another request recently and were given July 6 as the date to be at the Council meeting.

It’s time to make it clear that a rule must be established about who can come and what kind of message is expected. We already have restrictions on who can come to make presentations at the beginning of the Council proceedings. There is not current rule related to the invocation. I welcome all religions that are based in Scottsdale, have an established physical location… church, synagogue, mosque, etc. that provides an uplifting message to its members, and that will bless the Council proceedings. Perhaps this can be the rule, but I am open to other suggestions.

I do not welcome a Satanist group. If they do come, you will not see me bow my head to their message.I will leave the meeting until the “invocation” is over. I will join other faith groups who have promised to hold prayer sessions outside the building. My faith tells me that this is the only action I can take. I am comfortable with my decision.
