Supt of Public Instruction Diane M. Douglas: Current-Year Funding and the Need to Transition from SAIS to AzEDS --At this time, the law directs the Department to implement current-year funding for districts in the 2016-2017 school year. The Department has the technological capability to account for the change or to accommodate a delay in its implementation. That policy decision rests with the Legislature. Transition to AzEDS from SAIS It is now impossible for the Department to delay the implementation of AzEDS, a system into which millions of dollars have been invested over the past five years and which is now being used by almost two thirds of our districts and charters. SAIS is crumbling, as it has been for years, and can no longer be supported. Put simply, if we do not transition to AzEDS now, SAIS will fail and the Department will be unable to pay schools using SAIS starting July 1. Congressman Paul A. Gosar after submitting five appropriations riders to the House Appropriations Committee aimed at defunding job-killing and unconstitutional regulations put forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA): “As the branch of government with the power of the purse, it our responsibility to stop unconstitutional and misguided regulations forced upon the American people by a politicized EPA. Throughout President Obama’s disastrous occupation of the White House, he has repeatedly used the EPA as a weapon to enact his radical ideology and circumvent the legislative process. All Americans, of all political beliefs, should be ashamed of this abuse of power which has left a scar on the executive branch and will have devastating repercussions for our nation’s future prosperity. In order to return the balance of power in favor of the American people, the House must take bold action and rein in this rogue agency before further harm is inflicted on our economy. These five commonsense appropriations riders accomplish that objective.” No Funds Race Car Regulation

Gov Doug Ducey: Yesterday morning we made an exciting announcement with Google. The company is launching the testing of driverless cars right here in Arizona! This makes us the fourth place in the nation to be part of this pilot project. Here's what Google said about our state: "Arizona is known as a place where research and development is welcome, innovation can thrive, and companies can set up roots." Google’s selection of Arizona for this testing program is just another sign that Arizona is on the cutting-edge when it comes to innovation. When you think of companies changing the way we live, Google is at the top of the list, and their self-driving car technology is transformational. I welcome Google to our state, and look forward to being part of this innovative project.

LD23 PC Edith Stock: A. J. LaFaro's letter against Robert Graham contains so many  opinions, lacking factual basis.   Some of the charges Mr. LaFaro makes against Robrt Graham are certainly applicable to leadership in Legislative Districts in Maricopa County, not against Robert Graham.  Mr. LaFaro's letter is most offensive.  LD 23 is an example, where long-standing, hard-working PCs have been and continue to be subjected to tactics that lead to less participation in LD activities and eventual resignation.   Robert Graham, through his actions, has so positively encouraged  ALL Republicans to unite.  His  leadership  is all that has kept many PCs in LD 23 willing to keep working.

Activist Art Olivas: Some are Republicans In Name Only. To save Arizona we need to purge the party of RINOs. Starting with the censured John McCain and his RINOs. McCain exhibits major disconnect with Arizonans Are Jeff DeWit and Ken Bennett - who endorsed Robert Graham for AzGOP state Chairman, disconnected from the AZ. Republican voters? DeWit - who is supposed to be Donald Trump's Campaign big Shot in Arizona - is an enormous "zero" in our eyes! By their silence DeWit , Bennett and all of Graham endorsers lead us to believe that they are trolls or in John McCain's pocket. About the only time you hear from them is when they want your money or your vote. Our big question is when Will Jeff DeWiT become a Campaigner for Trump in Arizona?

Weekly Jobless Claims fell by 9,000 to 267,000 last week. That came in lower than the estimate for 270,000. The prior week was unchanged at 276,000.

Sen Jeff Flake :Alert – Republicans in danger of losing the senate: Many recent polls show Republicans in increasing danger of losing the U.S. Senate to the Democrats this year - need your help A Republican-controlled Senate with conservatives in charge is the last line of defense we have against liberals passing more failed policies like Obamacare. It is vital that we keep it! chipping in Regardless of how the Presidential election turns out, it is vital that we have the resources and funds to fight back against the Democrats' attacks on me and my fellow conservative Senators. We saw what happened the last time Republicans lost the Senate, and our nation cannot afford to go through that again. This fight involves all of us, and you can play a key role in ensuring I can continue fighting for Arizona and cutting government waste and abuse in Washington.
