National Delegate candidate Robert “RJ” Morris: Greetings Fellow True Conservative, Constitutionalist, Republicans - I am running for Delegate to the Republican National Convention. I am a current precinct committeeman (PC) in LD-13 (CD4). I am a lifelong conservative Republican, champion for the Constitution, and a firearms activist supporter of the National Rifle Association (NRA) as a Benefactor Member for life. I am also a supporter of Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association( CSPOA). I carry a current Honorary Special Deputy badge & ID from Joe Arpaio for Maricopa County, as all this is proof that Arizona is my home, and I am able to promise you that I cannot be bullied by the Elite Establishment or bought by any “Special Interests.” I am currently, and have been for years, an ATP Pilot, CFI-II; (Airline Transport Pilot & Federally Certified Advanced Flight Instructor), with Nine Jet Ratings. A number of years ago I was a Pilot/Copilot on a flight where Donald Trump was the contractor/passenger, and I cherish to the cufflinks presented by Donald Trump - with “Gratitude.” (From a Grateful Gentleman, Donald Trump). My “signature” is my self handtied patriotic bowties and classic cuff links and most important -- a heartfelt desire to get our country back on the path of “Freedom with Responsibilities” and bond to True Conservative Ideals. I am asking for your vote as a Delegate to the National Convention in Ohio this July. Please vote for Robert "RJ" Morris for delegate to the National Convention. Thank you for your kind consideration for my election to this honor.  NRA Member; Presidents Council; Ring of Freedom; Golden Eagles; Second Amendment Task Force

Registration for the Arizona GOP State Convention opens at 7:30 am., Sat., April 30 in the Mesa Convention Center, 263 N Center St, Mesa, AZ 85201. The meeting is scheduled to start at 9am.

An “AZ Votes Matter” Rally for President candidate Donald Trump is scheduled at 8 am, Sat., April 30 outside the AZGOP Convention meeting, scheduled in the Mesa Convention Center, 263 N Center St., Mesa. az-votes-matter-rally-saturday-april-30

The Demand-AZGOP-Chair-Robert-Graham-Resignation petition site continues to garner signatures and some very interesting comments.

Activist Art Olivas Is So Annoyed over many elected state convention delegates not receiving their call letters from the AZGOP that he is asking for anyone interested in considering a lawsuit against Chairman Robert Graham to contact Olivas at   Olivas and his wife are among elected delegates/alternates who did not receive the “call” for the Sat., April 30 state convention where delegates will be selected for the July National Convention in Cleveland. When Olivas says he is so “pissed off” that he can’t calm down enough write one of his scathing messages, you know he’s angry. The AZGOP opt to e-mailed one-page call letters, instead of going through the traditional route of mailing a call letter with the agenda, meeting rules, resolutions, etc 10 days prior to the meeting.

PC Matt Papke: In a few short days either the dreams or nightmares of many hard working and Patriotic Delegates will be realized. It is my hope that whatever the outcome of the Quadrennial Convention will be driven by just and lawful means. Many of you will remember the chaos of the 2012 Convention - let us hope that this is not repeated. Those who are given the power and responsibility to oversee our election process please honor your oaths and more so do not look the other way when others are less virtuous. Transparency and fairness are critical to the integrity of our elections no matter how big or small the office. I was invited to discuss our 2016 delegate selection process on a Radio Show today. I spoke in the second hour matt-papke -fox-listen Entire interview from 0 hour 51 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes.  Declare Your Independence with Ernest Hancock radio show for April 27, 2016: Papke contact:

Phx City Councilman Sal DiCiccio #6: Please read this article . The article accurately presents the real issues with the largest property tax increase in recent history. Drunken sailors have to stop spending money when they run out of money. The Government just keeps spending and taking more money from you and your family.Critical Points:

* $37 million: Amount of yearly Property Tax Increase

* 26%: Expected increase in your property tax

* $60 MILLION: Amount of surplus in budget

* $1.2 BILLION:  Record amount of revenue Phoenix has this year

It is time to tell the Phoenix politicians to stop their “war on taxpayers.”

Rep. Matt Salmon after sending a letter to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson about recent reports of widespread fraud by international students taking the SAT, and the effects of this fraud on the U.S. student visa system. “America has always welcomed the best and the brightest students from abroad into our nation to study at some of the finest schools in the world.  Unfortunately, recent reports show unscrupulous ‘test prep’ organizations and dishonest students abroad have been gaming the system—cheating on the SAT to gain admission to American schools (and with it an American student visa). While it’s not the purpose of the federal government to intervene in the private affairs of American corporations, in light of the refusal of the private sector to secure its tests (or colleges to demand they do so), I believe it’s time for the Department of Homeland Security to look into new and better ways to secure our nation, and our visa system, from those who seek to gain admittance to the United States through dishonesty and deceit.” Recently, in a two-part investigation, Reuters reported the thriving SAT “test preparation” industry that has allegedly exploited weaknesses in the SAT test security to generate answer keys to upcoming tests (Part 1, Part 2).  It has also been reported that, despite documentation of many concerns about the security of test administration in Asia, the College Board still has yet to secure the test internationally, thus providing unscrupulous individuals the ability and means to game the American education and visa system.

Sen John McCain at ‘care veterans deserve act of 2016’ press conference: “This is all about choice. This is all about whether a veteran should be forced to go to a single place where they would receive medical care, or whether they would have a choice to go to the medical facility that they think best suits them…We refuse to send our veterans back to the status quo of never-ending wait-times for appointments and inflexible care…We need to pass this legislation if we are to going provide our veterans with what they have earned.” See john McCain Full Press Conference

Senators John McCain (R-AZ), Joni Ernst (R-IA), Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) held a press conference on their introduction of the Care Veterans Deserve Act of 2016, legislation that would expand access to care at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) while enhancing choice and flexibility in veterans health care. The legislation supplements and expands on the major reforms enacted by the Veterans’ Access to Care through Choice, Accountability and Transparency Act of 2014, which was signed into law in the wake of the scandal of denied and delayed care at VA hospitals around the country. Senators Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), John Cornyn (R-TX), Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) are also cosponsors of the legislation. bill here. McCain here. entire press conference here.

Isn’t It Amazing the efforts Sen John McCain is making toward improving things for veterans during the first few months of an election year where he’s running scared? A reader asks -- Why wasn’t he fixing some of these veterans issues during his first 30 years in office???

Congresswoman Martha McSally apparently has challenger Dem candidate Dr Matt Heinz worried. Heinz latest campaign flyer reads: “There’s no good way to put this—we’re being outraised by Martha McSally. Right now, we’re up against our first fundraising deadline since last month’s FEC reports were released and the fundraising numbers went public. If we don’t have a strong showing this month, it could spell disaster for our campaign. We must raise another $10,000 before the deadline.” He continues, “We knew it might come to this. Our race is going to be one of the closest in the country, and Martha McSally is desperate to keep her seat. She’s counting on special interests to bankroll her campaign, but we’re counting on you”.

Kristi Passarelli at the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office says June 1, 2016 is the deadline for precinct committeemen, who are running for the Aug 30 election, to get their petitions submitted to the Recorder’s office. They will start accepting the petition signatures on May 2. “They can file in person at any of our three offices, MESA and MCTEC have parking; the main office at 111 S 3rd in Phoenix - only has street meter parking.” If you are mailing your paper work in, send it to the attention of Kristi Passarelli, Assistant Director Maricopa County Elections Department, 111 S 3rd Ave, Suite 102, Phoenix, AZ  85003-2294 (602) 506-8344 Fax (602) 506-3069. Please make sure you have filled in all the required information spots – front and back - and include the notarized nomination affidavit.

Scottsdale Mayorial candidate Bob Littlefield’s yard signs are now available and can be picked up from his front porch at 8926 E Sheena Dr., Scottsdale. Or they can be delivered to you. Campaign signs can be placed on private property immediately. Campaign signs are not allowed in the public right-of-way until June 30th. State law does not allow HOAs to completely prohibit campaign signs but it does allow them to limit when signs can be displayed, so if you live in an HOA check with them for details. Contact: or 602-228-9145.

Scottsdale Veteran Josh Wolosonovich is asking for help in a “Operation Nine Line: New Trails” fundraiser for a five day, 75 mile hike in the Colorado Mountains in June for veterans between June 27- July in which 75 people from around the country will participate in  the backpacking journeys that will test all participants mentally, spiritually, and physically. Their purpose is to raise awareness of all the various physical, mental and emotional needs of the nation’s veterans and help make an impact on the toll these injuries (including the hidden ones) have on them and their families. “Nine Line” is a combat emergency medevac request, and is often the difference between life and death for the most severely wounded soldiers. Congressman Trent Franks: Highlights of the first quarter in Washington DC: It was an honor to represent you in supporting the following bills, which among many others, passed the House.

· H.R. 3762 Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act – Passed House January 6th

· H.R. 1644 Supporting Transparency, Regulatory, and Environmental Actions in Mining Act – Passed House January 12th

· H.R. 757 North Korea Sanctions Enforcement Act – Passed House January 12th; Became Law February 18th

· H.R. 3700 Housing Opportunity Through Modernization Act – Passed House February 2nd

· H.R. 3662 Iran Terror Finance Transparency Act – Passed House February 2nd

· H.R. 1675 Capital Markets Improvement Act – Passed House February 3rd

· H.R. 766 Financial Institution Customer Protection Act – Passed House February 4th

· H.R. 3293 Scientific Research in the National Interest Act – Passed House February 10th

· H.R. 3442 Debt Management and Fiscal Responsibility Act – Passed House February 11th

· H.R. 3716 Ensuring Access to Quality Medicaid Providers Act – Passed March 2nd

In another attempt to scale back the Affordable Care Act (ACA), I voted YES on H.R. 3762 Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act which would dismantle the ACA and would prohibit taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers. The Senate passed the bill as well and we sent it to the President’s desk. Unfortunately the President vetoed this bill and it did not become law.

Congresswoman Martha McSally on the inclusion of critical Southern Arizona priorities, including full funding for the A-10 Warthog, EC-130H Compass Call, and missions at Fort Huachuca, in the recently released Fiscal Year 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The legislation will be marked up tomorrow by the Committee on Armed Services, on which Rep. McSally serves. “The inclusion of these provisions is a big victory for Southern Arizonans and our national defense,” said Rep. McSally. “I’m glad to see our efforts lead to not just full funding of the A-10 and a retention of missions at Fort Huachuca, but also inclusion of a mandated fly-off between the A-10 and F-35‎. I've long advocated that this needs to happen and that we need a tested, proven replacement to be operational before any A-10s can be retired. I’ll continue to fight to ensure these provisions are protected in the final bill.” During last year’s mark up, Rep. McSally successfully offered amendments protecting the A-10 and EC-130H, two aircraft housed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base (DM), from retirement. Provisions funding and prohibiting the retirement of either aircraft are included in this year’s legislation. In addition, Rep. McSally has continually worked to secure a fly-off between the F-35 and A-10 to preserve current Close Air Support and Combat Search and Rescue capabilities. A provision mandating that test is included in this legislation. Other Southern Arizona priorities in the NDAA include provisions to help expand missions at Fort Huachuca such as Remotely Piloted Aircrafts, the Electronic Proving Grounds, and the testing and evaluation center.

Incumbent Scottsdale City Councilwoman Virginia Korte: To continue being a world-class city where people want to work, live and visit, we must grow and diversify our economy.  One of the primary ways we can accomplish that is by expanding our efforts to attract visitors. As you know, the tourism industry is the engine that drives our economy.  So it is critical that we consider every option to not only sustain our tourism trade, but also expand it. Working together we must explore all opportunities, because the competition for tourists is intensifying.  We cannot afford to rest on our laurels.  We must be creative to compete. One opportunity being explored is the Desert Discovery Center. Currently, the feasibility of the DDC is merely being studied.  An architect will be hired to create a conceptual site plan.  Additionally, an operations and business plan is in the works along with program development.  The results of this process are not expected to be presented until August of 2017.  However, during the interim, citizens have been invited to offer their input.  In fact, two public outreach sessions happened last week. Unfortunately, there are people trying to make the DDC a political issue.  As a consequence, there is considerable misinformation that is very misleading.  I believe you and your family deserve the facts, not fabrications filtered through those with a political agenda.
