HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
Yavapai County PC Jim Dutton Response To National Convention Take Over: When asked, “Can this be done from the floor at the national instead of sending it thru the Rules Committee?,” RNC Rules Committee Chairman Bruce Ash replied, “I am not sure what the point would be when Donald Trump will control well over 1237 delegates at the convention and it would take a 2/3rds vote of the delegates to pull something like this off.”
The answer is simple, ignore the delegates. This was demonstrated at the State Convention in April when the Rules were adopted. People were standing up trying to get the Rules Committee Chairman's attention. He completely ignored them and said, "I have a motion and a second to adopt the rules, all in favor, all opposed, in the opinion of the Chair the ayes have it." He never allowed any debate on the Rules and force fed them to the delegates.
This method was employed by John Boehner at the 2012 National Convention when a Point of Order was brought from the floor. (Over 1/3 of the delegates were standing and shouting, "Point of Order" in unison.) Boehner stated he had a motion and a second (that no one heard) to table the Point of Order. He took a voice vote and then declared a very decidedly negative vote into the "opinion of the chair is the ayes have it, the point of order is tabled."
In Cleveland it will only take a predetermined motion followed by a quick "second" and the Chair will take a voice vote, ignore the results and declare that in the ayes have it. The media will subdue the delegate outrage as they did in Tampa. Any disgruntled delegates making reports of impropriety will be labeled as confused and always complaining, after all "what difference does it make now?"
I am sure Ash is a man of character and expects the rest of the GOP leadership to conduct themselves as such. This "trust" will prove to be sorely misplaced I am afraid for it is this same group that twisted Donald Trump's arm into pledging to support the Republican Nominee and now refuse to do so themselves. Character and integrity are a thing of the past in the upper tiers of the GOP. Their actions in July will determine whether many of us will continue to put our efforts and money into the Republican Party. Editor’s Note: Update - The underlined portion of the above sentence was accidently lost in the original post. Apologies to Ash and Dutton. - ft
LD22 PC Jane Schutte: It is a shame we still have news outlets interviewing dinosaurs like Bill Kristol, George Will, etc. We don’t care about their opinion. They should not be considered heads of the Conservative movement. I do realize they do it because news outlets love controversy in the Republican Party.
AzCDL Update: Sine Die - At 5:45 am, Sat., May 7 , the Arizona Legislature adjourned their 2016 Regular Session. Any bills that did not make it through the Legislature and get sent to the Governor are dead this year. Once adjournment occurs, the Governor has 10 days (not counting Sundays) to make a decision on bills sent to him by the Legislature.
· Contact the Governor: Shortly before Sine Die, three important pro-rights firearms bills received their final votes in the Legislature and were sent to the Governor. NOW is the time to contact Governor Ducey and urge him to sign these bills into law. Your emails to send to the Governor on the bills listed below have been prepared and are ready for you to send.
· HB 2338 is the AzCDL-requested bill that would prohibit the governing boards of educational institutions from banning firearms on public rights of way. Click here to send your email to Gov Ducey.
· HB 2524 is the AzCDL-requested bill that would establish an interstate compact that restricts member states from enacting firearms transfer requirements that are more restrictive than existing federal law. Click here to send your email to Gov Ducey.
· SB 1266 would allow for injunctions, fines and civil suits when state agencies or local governments disregard state firearm preemption statutes. Click here to send your email to Gov Ducey.
This is our last chance to get critical legislation enacted into law. Don’t delay – Act today. The status and summary of bills that AzCDL monitored this session can be found on our Bill Tracking page.

Tom Jenney - Americans for Prosperity Arizona to Arizona Taxpayers: Leftists and union bosses from California are currently collecting signatures for three bad propositions they want to put on Arizona's November ballot:
-An anti-free speech measure that would put your name and personal information onto a publicly-available government database if you donate to non-profit organizations. It would also give state bureaucrats the power to audit and investigate conservative organizations for the "crime" of supporting the causes and issues we believe in.
-A measure to increase the minimum wage to a job-killing $12 per hour and keep young people and low-skilled workers from climbing onto the bottom rungs of the career ladder, with a special exception for the union bosses (if companies agree to unionize, those companies would be exempt from a job-killing mandatory paid leave scheme).
-A measure to cap the pay of hospital CEOs, which is part of an effort to try to unionize hospital employees (so the same union system that ruined Detroit's economy would now run our hospitals).
Use THIS LINK to take action against these leftist ballot measures and share the petition with your friends and family!

Petition To Keep Men Out Of Women's Bathroom Protect women and children by keeping men out of women's bathrooms. Americans are taking a stand to protect women and children across this great nation. The aggressive, leftist effort to "accommodate" transsexuals also makes it easier for pedophiles, rapists, voyeurs and other sexual deviants to have access to potential victims. It’s time to stop this kind of political correctness that puts women and girls at risk.
The Arizona Senate Voted On Party Lines, 18-12, to increase the number of state supreme court justices from five to seven. The measure will go to Gov. Doug Ducey (R) after a final roll-call vote. Arizona’s justices are appointed by the governor from a list of names compiled by the Arizona Commission on Appellate Court Appointments. Appointed justices serve at least two years and then stand in uncontested retention elections for a full term of six years. Out of the five current state supreme court justices, four were appointed by Republican governors Jan Brewer and Doug Ducey; one was appointed by a Democrat, Gov. Janet Napolitano. The two new justices will be Gov. Ducey’s second and third picks for the court. Both Georgia and Arizona are changing the sizes of their state supreme courts this year. comprehensive coverage of state supreme court changes »

Incumbent Sen John McCain submitted over 20,000 petition signatures, from all 15 counties, to qualify for the Arizona ballot. All petition signatures were collected by unpaid volunteers. "The grassroots support for my campaign has been tremendous across Arizona," said McCain. “The numbers speak for themselves and are a clear indicator of the unprecedented grassroots momentum of our campaign. We have built the strongest campaign operation with hundreds of volunteers dedicating their time to share our message of fighting for Arizona veterans, strengthening the military, and standing up for families throughout the state.”
Intelligence Specialist Lyle Rapacki: While various arguments arise for the removal of the Confederate Flag and other articles associated with the American Civil War between the States, a consistent and glaring theme that few discuss is the eradication of American history. Americans have always strived to be free from tyrants. Our Founders stated for all time and eternity that the average man and woman have rights and government has only the powers that the sovereign people have delegated to it. This founding principle is being erased by politicians in BOTH political parties. When wrong is exposed Americans want to institute correction so as not to have a repeat of the wrong. There are those who clearly despise America working to transform this Nation and to erase all elements of our country’s history in the process.
America’s principles helped create an exceptional nation that many in elected office today are working diligently to transform into merely a country within the global sphere of countries. Those with diabolical schemes cannot figure why Americans look fondly to this nation’s origins and hold the special meaning that is America with our role.
Transform America. Eradicate all signs of America’s exceptional creation. Forever remove history so a population has no reference point, no foundation, and no appreciation much less understanding of all the costs simply to bring us to this point in time. Erase every monument and article of this Nation’s history to redirect the citizens of America into a New-World Order that is for tyrannical rule and removal of individual rights and freedoms. The men of Kentucky and Pennsylvania would not have stood for this. The brave and dedicated men who faced off against one another in the War Between the States would have linked arms and faced off against the evil change and eradication now attempting to sweep across this land. What about you!? kentucky-confederate-monument-to-be-removed-after-120-years, yup-keep-deleting-our-history
Republican Establishment is Still at War with Donald Trump “…there is a great deal of money riding on the preservation of the corrupt system that fuels the Republican establishment. Donald Trump has wounded the machine that was so confident it was going to reap profits from the reaction to eight years of Obama. Think about what it will cost some people if all that lobbying for a secret managed-trade deal with Asia leads to nothing. Donald Trump is disrupting some powerful people who are used to getting their way in the Republican Party. So Paul Ryan’s refusal to speak well of Trump is entirely expected.

Remove-Grover-Norquist-From-The-NRA-Board …Glenn Beck is urging all NRA members to vote “YES” to recall Grover Norquist from the NRA board of directors. This is a chance for responsible gun owners to make an immediate impact. Grover Norquist, founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform and co-founder of the Islamic Free Market Institute, came under the spotlight thanks in part to Glenn raising concerns Norquist’s associations with known radical Islamists. Mr. Norquist “voluntarily” suspended himself from the NRA board In April of 2015. Norquist’s longtime history with and connections to Islamic radicals spurred members of the NRA to submit a petition to recall and remove him from the NRA board. Voting is open to all NRA members and ballots will be arriving in the mail.
Trump: Nobody-In-This-Country-Was-Worse-To-Women-Than-Bill-Clinton Former President Bill Clinton isn’t running for office, but that didn’t stop presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump from using the former president’s history to go after Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton on Friday. “Nobody in this country, and maybe in the history of the country, politically, was worse than Bill Clinton with women,” Trump said at a rally in Eugene, Oregon.
Ryan-Challenger-Paul-Nehlen; He-Has-Betrayed-Us-All…House Speaker Paul Ryan’s Wisconsin primary opponent Paul Nehlen said of Ryan on Saturday, “He has betrayed us all, hasn’t he? He says he’s for a secure border. Then what’s he do? He funds every dangerous immigration policy through this $1.8 trillion omnibus. What he funded was all his special interest buddies.” Nehlen’s comments came during an exclusive interview Saturday with Breitbart News Saturday SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon. Nehlen pointed out again that 83 percent of Ryan’s camapign donations come from D.C., not his home district: “The vast majority comes in the form of large campaign donations from inside the D.C. Beltway. … He sold his vote. He sold his vote. The same people that are donating to his campaign want these open border initiatives. This isn’t a Free Trade deal.”
Former Ambassador John Bolton-Has-Dire-Warning-About-Hillary “It’s very hard, if not impossible, to find any real differences between what Hillary Clinton writes and what the Obama policy was,” Bolton told WND and Radio America. “The idea somehow that Hillary would be preferable because she would be an improvement on the Obama foreign policy is badly misguided.”
List-Of-98-Top-Republicans-Who-Refuse-To-Back-Trump Washington abuzz with talk of 3rd-party run as billionaire looks to seal GOP nomination… Talk-radio star Laura Ingraham flatly ridiculed the notion, telling WND, “It’s a terrible idea, both for the country and for people who agree with Bill Kristol.” …“Or, the third party candidate peels off enough votes to throw the election to Hillary.”

Senator John McCain on the death of former Pima County Supervisor Ann Day: “I'm deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Ann Day. With Ann's tragic death, our state has lost a tireless advocate who dedicated her life to public service – as a teacher, State Senator and Pima County Supervisor. A self-proclaimed lifelong "cowgirl from Lazy B" ranch, Ann will always be remembered for her passionate and pragmatic approach that benefited so many citizens across our state. Cindy and my prayers are with Ann's family and loved ones, as well as the entire Arizona community, during this difficult time.”

Phoenix City Councilman Sal DiCiccio: My work on the city council has been successful in many ways including:
- Creating the best model in the nation for 24hr permitting and inspections
- Protecting small business owners from a new taxing district forced on them by big government
- Requesting the State Attorney General investigate a transit director accused of fraud. That action froze a $200,000 golden parachute politicians were recommending
I have made a commitment to fight and protect you and your tax dollars. That commitment to you has the government insiders and unions once again, trying to stop my reforms. Bottom line, they want your money and I am in the way. My priorities remain fiscal accountability, public safety and preserving our communities. I will remain focused on protecting your money and in preserving our future. Your continued support will help ensure another four years of fulfilling these promises and more.
It is always difficult to ask for help and I appreciate all of your support, past and future. But, keeping government honest is only possible with your continued support for my re-election.
Senator Sylvia Tenney Allen - Why I voted against “KidsCare.”
- First Reason - KidsCare is not free. The overall program cost is $300M, and the state must cover the upfront cost of $27M. We may eventually get this money back, but we have to put the money up front before that can happen. All of these children are covered under Obama Care. But, we were being pressured to put them back on our state AHCCCS rolls with the promise it won’t cost the state anything. Nothing is Free! Where does the $300 million come from? In the last 6 months the national debt has risen over $1.3 trillion dollars. Does anyone think there are not consequences for over spending? And does anyone really think that in due time the burden will be placed squarely upon the State to fund this program? This is not free money and comes at a huge cost to our children down the line.
- Second Reason – The bill was unconstitutionally passed. Proponents of this socialized healthcare proposal were unable to get their bill through the normal channels of the legislative process. A group of House Republicans went around their leadership and put the language for KidsCare in an amendment to a bill which was unrelated to healthcare. The amendment had nothing to do with the subject of the bill which violates the State Constitution! Our Constitution says that a bill that is passed has to be related to the same subject matter within the bill. The courts will most likely strike it down for violating this part of the constitution. The House Rules attorney and the Senate Rules attorney said it was not germane, but the House voted to override the ruling and moved forward with the bill anyway. Governor Ducey has knowingly signed a bill that is unconstitutional in its formation.
Please comply with the 300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit, it will be edited.
Congressman David Schwiekert: Every single day, I go to battle for Arizona. Taking on the issues that matter to our state has required some tough action to hold Washington accountable. I have consistently and unequivocally said no to the big spenders. I have also pushed for smart pro-growth policies that preserve our economic freedom and get government off the back of innovators and entrepreneurs. Let's face it, the insiders in both parties have been the biggest part of the problem. I have stood for what is right. That has meant stopping the madness. That has meant undoing Washington's continued damage to our economy. That is exactly why I have done everything I can to grow our economy, protect our border, defend the Constitution, and push back on the federal government's extreme overreach.I count on your help, and your voice, to keep Washington's feet to the fire.
