Law Enforcement in Arizona is prepping for a visit from GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump on Saturday, when about 10,000 people were expected to cram into Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix. Trump will be making his fourth campaign visit to the Valley.
Arizona-Lion-Guard-Biker-Club-Organizes-To-Protect-Trump-Supporters-From-Violent-Leftists-Saturday …Well, let’s just admit right up front, you could not have a better name than “The Lion Guard“, to organize a biker rally to protect Donald Trump.(Via KTAR News) PHOENIX — A group of bikers said it plans to protect supporters from possible violence at a Donald Trump rally scheduled to be held in Phoenix on Saturday.
Arizona National Committeeman Bruce Ash: What a beauty this Paul Ryan guy is....threatens prospectively to sue Donald Trump if he becomes president and issues executive orders which he disagrees with but he wouldn't do same against Barack Obama. How's that for leadership?
The Maricopa County Recorder’s office has released the list of PC candidate, including write-ins for the Aug 30 Primary Election: See 2016 Primary Election Precinct Committeemen by Leg District or 2016 Primary Election Precinct Committeemen Over Quota Report
LD26 State Committeeman Joe Neglia: It only takes 10 valid signatures to get on the ballot for PC. And the John McCain 2016 Statewide Field Director couldn't even get that. John McCain's 2016 Field Director Blaze Baggs has removed his name from the ballot after being served with an Election Challenge lawsuit. He was running for PC in LD26. The lawsuit alleged several invalid signatures on his nomination petition which was circulated by Dylan Lefler, another Team McCain member. You may recall Blaze Baggs from his arrest for disorderly conduct:john-mccains-campaign-field-director-arrested-for-disorderly-conduct-could-face-federal-charges See lawsuit at http://www.superiorcourt.maricopa.gov/docket/CivilCourtCases/caseInfo.asp?caseNumber=CV2016-007445
LD4 House Write in Candidate Richard Hopkins: The City of Buckeye's lobbyist, George Diaz, a strong Democrat and supporter of Charlene Fernandez, has directed the Buckeye Valley Chamber of Commerce to exclude my participation in tonight's (Thurs, June 16) candidate forum. City Manager Stephen Cleveland and Mayor Jackie Meck have both stated Diaz lacks that authority, but neither will direct him to rescind the directive and allow me to participate. Fernandez knows the only way to win is to keep me off the ballot and silence me. I qualified as a write in.
Candidates Face Legal Challenges That Aren’t Always Worth Fighting …When Bob Lettieri, a Republican House candidate in Scottsdale’s Legislative District 23, received an email from his opponent’s political consultant telling him to withdraw from the race or risk being bounced off the ballot, Lettieri didn’t take it seriously. He figured the paid campaign consultant for his primary election opponent, Republican Rep. Jay Lawrence of Scottsdale, was just trying to scare him out of the race. Then Lawrence and his consultant, Constantin Querard, filed a lawsuit alleging that only 516 of the 758 nominating signatures Lettieri had filed to run for office in the district were valid, leaving him short of the 606 minimum necessary to qualify for the Aug. 30 ballot. Former LD13 Chairman Robert Branch: If you see something, say something. This is the Obama’s administration policy to fight terrorism. Well Obama and Hillary, people saw something and they said something about: The Ft. Hood Shooter, Boston Marathon Bombers, and The Orlando Shooter, (and many others). The people, and governments, said something about the above terrorist who actually carried out those attacks, and the Obama’s administration did nothing to protect us. Now, instead of saying that his administration policies have made us unsafe, Obama and the Left blame the NRA, Republicans, and gun owners. The blood is on Obama’s and Hillary’s hands for policies that have made all of us unsafe.
Tom Morrissey, Immediate Past Chairman AZ GOP: I see that Maricopa County Sheriff's Candidate Dan Saban has somewhat eloquently responded to my previous comments on his positions while running for Sheriff. Amid all his protestations against my comments he fails to respond to my main point, why did he run against Sheriff Arpaio as a Democrat in 2008, when the head of the Democrat ticket was Barack Obama? And then in 2012, he supported Sheriff Arpaio's Democrat opponent Paul Penzone, when the head of the ticket was Barack Obama. Obama's policies have brought millions of illegals across our porous borders and Dan Saban, you were on the same ticket with him and then supported the man who was on the same ticket again in 2012. So my question to you remains, what are you doing running as a Republican in 2016? Have you have had some sort of an epiphany, or is it just politics as usual? Are you running for Sheriff, or are you running to be Paul Penzone's Chief Deputy? Just asking.
Brian Reilly, Former LD22PC: In Maricopa County Sheriff candidate Marsha Hill’s, June 15, 2016, MCRC commentary about her vision for the MCSO, she makes the following comments: “I was an avid follower of the [profiling] trial and long-time supporter of the Sheriff.” And, “Most of the current candidates for Sheriff, with service in law enforcement, have problems remembering to be truthful.” I find these comments to be unsettling. Marsha Hill, as of 6/15/2016, is apparently associated with a website called Sheriff Joe’s Legacy. http://sheriffjoeslegacy.com/sheriff_joe.html Today, on this site, one can view her picture http://sheriffjoeslegacy.com/about.html and learn that the goals of the organization are to: “Bring awareness of all of Sheriff Joe’s good practices and to support by donating money. To back Sheriff Joe’s office so it becomes a beacon of light to other sheriff offices around the country.” And, “We are passionately committed to keeping Sheriff Joe’s legacy alive. That’s where our hearts are.” So, apparently, Marsha Hill was a supporter of Sheriff Joe, but still is a supporter of Sheriff Joe Arpaio? How, pray tell, does that work? That leaves us with the choice of two experienced, qualified former law enforcement officers who are running for sheriff. One is Dan Saban (R.), a former chief of police of Buckeye and Paul Penzone (D.), a former sergeant with the Phoenix P.D. Paul Penzone, who, having limited financial resources, nearly defeated Arpaio in 2012. With the distinct possibility of pending criminal referrals coming from the U.S. District Court against Arpaio in late June or early July, Penzone would most likely defeat Arpaio in 2016. A race that would be tough to predict would be Dan Saban against Paul Penzone. Republicans should be seriously thinking about a winning strategy before they cast their primary votes for sheriff in August. Editor’s Note: The web site referred to above was established at the same time Hill was heading up a volunteer "Prevention of Cruelty to Animals" posse for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, according to Hill. She decided to run for Sheriff after a lawsuit resulted when the animal posses 501c3 Board of Directors refused to turn over some $200,000 to the Sheriff’s Office and Hill was investigated by internal affairs. Cleared of wrong doing by the Attorney Generals investigators Hill declares she is no longer a fan of Arpaio or his command staff. Delegates-Resign-In-Opposition-To-Trump Two of Arizona’s delegates to the Republican National Convention resigned their positions, saying they refused to go to Cleveland to vote for Donald Trump. And a handful of others were elected as delegates at a fractious Arizona Republican Party convention, only to step down after determining that they just had other things to do that week. Nine of the 58 Arizona delegates to the July 18-21 GOP convention in Cleveland have resigned, including some of Arizona’s top elected officials. Maricopa County Supervisor Denny Barney, Attorney General Mark Brnovich, state Treasurer Jeff DeWit and Secretary of State Michele Reagan have all stepped aside, as has former California Congressman Frank Riggs, former Arizona Congressman John Shadegg, Yuma Republican Paul Marchant and Phyllis Ritter, a delegate elected from the 1st Congressional District. Zuhdi Jasser, a doctor and Muslim reform advocate, resigned after learning that he’d be bumped up from an alternate to a voting delegate… Read more: azcapitoltimes
