Alert: Be wary of e-mail invoices or requests asking for donations for the Republican National Convention to be sent to a recipient via Paypal. Don’t make contributions to so-called political groups unless you know who they are going directly to. One circulating at the moment is an invoice for your alleged $100 contribution to the RNC convention.

Intelligence And Threat Assessment Specialist Lyle Rapacki: Donald Trump once again was blasted by all segments in the political arena, including so-called conservative leaders like House Speaker Paul Ryan, Arizona Senator John McCain, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for calling out the Federal Judge in the Trump University Law Suit.  Trump stated how Judge Curiel has been and remains a strong supporter of LaRaza (The Race).  Now comes to light the death certificate for the father of the controversial Mexican Federal Judge that confirms Curiel’s parents were NOT U.S. citizens when Judge Gonzalo Curiel was born. ay-carumba-death-certificate-papa-judge curiel-proves-new-york-times-lying-about us-citizenship The Official records from Indiana confirm that Salvador Curiel died a Mexican citizen in 1964. But New York Times Reporter Alan Rappeport claimed the elder Curiel had died a U.S. citizen. He did not!  Here’s what Rappeport wrote: “Judge Curiel, 62, was born in East Chicago, Ind., to parents who had emigrated from Mexico. Raul Curiel said their father, Salvador, arrived in Arizona as a laborer in the 1920s, eventually receiving citizenship and becoming a steelworker. Their parents were married in Mexico in 1946, and their mother, Francisca, became a citizen after joining her husband in the United States.” In fact Salvador Curiel never received U.S. citizenship and Francisca became a citizen in 1969–five years after her husband died and 18 years after her last son — the future judge Gonzalo Curiel — was born!  So the New York Times got it wrong. They didn’t do their fact checking or could it be the fact that Mexican telecom billionaire Carlos Slim’s ownership of The New York Times have played a role? After all, the Times owner, Carlos Slim, makes money when the Mexican illegal immigrants in the U.S send money home.  So do many in the Mexican government now that remittances have surpassed oil as the number one source of revenue for the Mexican government.

Brian Reilly, Former LD22PC: The following letter was sent to Maricopa County Attorney William Montgomery several weeks ago. A similar letter was sent to Attorney General Mark Brnovich. I have not received a reply from either office. “Dear. Mr. Montgomery, U.S. District Court Judge G. Murray Snow's "Finding of Facts,"[*] issued on May 13, 2016, claims that the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was a victim of fraud, reportedly perpetrated by a Mr. Dennis L. Montgomery, who, according to court testimony, was said, as I recall, to be working as an "agent" for Sheriff Arpaio. This relationship, according to court testimony, was apparently facilitated by Sheriff's Cold Case Posse member Michael P. Zullo, who was also reported to be also working with Detective Brian Mackiewicz of the MCSO in what has become known as the "Seattle Operation," allegedly utilized to discredit Judge G. Murray Snow's court. What will your office do regarding the apparent fraud perpetrated against the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and the citizens of Maricopa County? What will you do to recover the funds allegedly provided to Mr. Montgomery? What will you do [to] bring back accountable, law enforcement to Maricopa County? Will you investigate this issue? “ [*] Case 2:07-cv-02513-GMS Document 1677 Filed 05/13/16 Page 64 of 162: “Sheriff Arpaio testified that the MCSO continued to engage Mr. Montgomery as a confidential source up through and including the time of the hearing, despite Arpaio’s repudiation of the substance of Montgomery’s reports, and despite the overwhelming evidence of Montgomery’s fraud… In fact, although the MCSO did make confidential informant payments to Montgomery, they did not begin making such payments until after Montgomery had provided them with false material alleging the involvement of this Court in a conspiracy with the U.S. Department of Justice.” http://tesibria.typepad.com/wye/

Town Crier Jim Ely: Our hat’s off to Mr. (Bruce) Ash for his standing up for WE THE PEOPLE. See: 06/6-24-16-briefs (1) Bruce Ash's  Tucson "InsideTrackAz: ( 2) On-The-Record-With-Bruce-Ash; Its-All-About-The-Rules and (3) Bruce-Ash: GOP-Leaders-Are-Undermining-Trump

Warren Woodward of Sedona: As I mentioned in the last update about my Public Records lawsuit against the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC), the judge had released to me all the unredacted documents that he got from the ACC. That put the ACC lawyers into a tizzy. A word about the ACC lawyers: One of them is the ACC's new "ethics officer." Seems to me if he had any he never would have taken this case on and tried to defend the indefensible. The other two lawyers are from an outside firm the ACC hired because I guess the "ethics officer" just wasn't enough protection against a college drop-out (me) armed only with the truth. God only knows what these three are costing taxpayers. Whatever it is, it's a total waste. "Ethics officer." Very funny. Total Orwellian Doublespeak. The ACC doesn't need an ethics officer; they need a warden. So anyway, the lawyers were in such a tizzy over my getting their uncensored public records that they filed a "Motion for Reconsideration and for Clarification," and in it they actually lie to the Court. Why am I not surprised? You can read about the ACC's lies in my Response to their Motion that I filed at Court today – Warren Woodward vs Arizona Corporation Commission Case # V-1300-CV-201680047 Yavapai County Superior Court. By the way, in case anyone wonders why I thanked the Court for the opportunity to respond to the ACC, in this particular instance Court rules dictate that I do not have a right to respond, but that I could respond if the judge offers me that option. He did, and I was grateful for the opportunity to expose the ACC.

Brian Reilly, Former LD22PC: In a recent poll, we now see that there is a very good chance that Democrat Paul Penzone will beat Republican Joe Arpaio for Maricopa County Sheriff in the November 8,  general election.  Yes, the poll was done by Penzone's people, however, this firms up my belief that we need to carefully select a strong Republican over Arpaio in the August primary election. Republicans need to oppose Penzone with a strong Republican candidate who has decades of law enforcement and administrative experience.  There is only one Republican candidate for sheriff who has that background, in my opinion, to beat Penzone in the general election.  That man, in my opinion, is Dan Saban.  If Republicans want to keep the office of Maricopa County Sheriff in Republican hands, we no longer can afford to ignore the Republican primary for sheriff and allow Arpaio to move forward to the general election and to ultimate defeat.  Arpaio simply has too much baggage to ignore.  Think carefully about your primary vote for sheriff in August.  penzone-leading-arpaio-in-race-for-sheriff

CANDIDATE COMMENTARY

Please comply with the 300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit,

it will be edited. Briefs does not post endorsements.

LD28 House Candidate Mary Hamway: I am running for state House because I feel that District 28 needs a mature and experienced leader to fill the void left by Rep. Kate Brophy McGee's departure to run for the Senate. Arizona has done many great things these past few years, but our state's leaders have also let us down in certain areas. That is why I am starting an email series entitled WRONG WAY/RIGHT WAY. In it, I will highlight a problem that is facing our state, and provide a solution I intend to work for once elected. Arizona has led the nation in cuts to higher education. Prior to this past session's small increase, Arizona was spending 47% less per college student than it was in 2008. The result is tuition and fees increasing a whopping 83% since 2008. Arizona must remember that we cannot expect to recruit the best companies here or have highly-skilled workers available without a top university system. We must reverse the downward trend of underfunding our great universities, because our economy's strength and future potential comes through the power of a great education system. State funding is currently at roughly 34% of a resident student's education. I will work toward a multi-year plan of increasing that number, with the ultimate goal of reaching 50% funding of a resident student's education.
