LD20 Senator Kimberly Yee announced yesterday she will speak at the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland at approximately 2:30 pm (EST) on Mon, July 18. Yee represents northwest Phoenix and parts of Glendale, is the Chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce and Workforce Development, Vice Chair of the Education Committee and serves on the Committees on Health and Human Services and Finance. She is currently running unopposed for Senate Majority Leader in the 53rd Legislative Session. Last week, Yee was named among the nation’s 25 Most Influential Women in State Politics by Congressional Quarterly’s Roll Call. GOPAC, the largest Republican state and local political training organization, named Yee one of its 2016 Class of Emerging Leaders, a group of promising legislators selected nationwide for their potential and ability to impact their state and the Republican Party at the leadership level. The RNC has recognized her among their ‘Rising Stars’. “It is an honor to be a chosen as a convention speaker. Since a young age, I’ve watched the Republican national convention and to be on the stage on Monday is a perspective I never would have imagined. I look forward to sharing my story and the values I share with the Republican Party,” said Yee.

LD13 PC Sandra Dowling: Candidates are still collecting petition signatures for school board and community college district races. The filing deadline is August 10. Please help Republican candidates in these races qualify for the ballot by circulating and signing petitions.
Town Crier Jim Ely: Looks like we may be seeing the end of the Republican Party as we know it. Front page article in 7/15/16 issue of the Arizona Daily Star, “Flake, McCain among senators to plan to skip Trump ‘s convention”. In the case for Arizona, basically, the same MAJORITY of voters who voted Kyl and McCain into office are the same voters who voted for Trump! This appears to be evidence that like so many elected officials in Arizona, rather than supporting WE THE PEOPLE they plan to do their own thing. They were not elected because they know best and are there to ‘protect’ us, they were elected to REPRESENT WE PEOPLE. True, WE THE PEOPLE don’t always know best, POTUS and RINOs in office are good examples. The way given to combat this is the POLITICAL PARTY, to act as a go between the voters and the elected, keeping the elected accountable and the voters informed. But when a political party is self- serving and seemingly in the pocket of the elected elite, what can the voters depend on? As old Ben said, we have a Republic if we can keep it. But, it seems we are still headed down hill like a snowball headed for hell!
Paul Epperly, LCDR, USN (ret): Are there any of you that still think that ISIS is a JV team? It's going to progressively get worse, particularly here in the US. The next acts of Islamic Terrorism could be: Disney World, Mall of America, any Public school, the 4-H Fair in some mid-west town, our Capital in Wash DC, the NYC Holland Tunnel, a nuclear power plant, the Wall Street Exchange, the Golden Gate Bridge, a Professional Baseball or football game or the Democratic Convention.(I said the Dem Convention because the Black Lives Matter punks will likely be acting up at the Republican Convention). If the protestors start breaking laws, I hope the police will act and that all of the TV networks will show it, not just FOX and maybe CNN.
The leader of ISIS was our prisoner in Iraq, who we freed about 8 yrs ago, when we left in Iraq too soon. Some JV team isn't it? Don't you think we need another 50-100,000 un-vetted Muslim refugees in our country? That way our millions of illegal Mexicans, can also go on the Welfare rolls and let the Muslims take their jobs. Obama has really done a job on our country and now Hillary wants to go even further, based on her experience and job performance as our Sec. of State. With the help of Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Lois Lerner, and other crooked and lying Liberal-Progressive-Socialists, serving in our government right now, she could very well accomplish her goal of keeping the Democrats in power forever, by simply buying their votes, promising a life of freebies at the cost of the middle-class, which she and Barack have "really championed.” Do I sound a little upset & cynical? Yep, I am and so should you be! Whether you are a Democrat, Republican, Independent, etc. please just open your eyes. Don't think our country isn't getting more screwed up every year. For you in your 60's & 70's, can't you remember what this country used to be, not perfect but at least patriotic, proud, safe and for the most part pulling together to improve our lot in life?

We Can't Wait 6 Months To Oust Obama From Office By Larry Klayman: The United States, Europe and the rest of the world is in violent upheaval. At home, fraudulently elected illegitimate President Barack Hussein Obama, along with his black-Muslim friends like so-called Rev. Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, and Black Lives Matter allies, have finally succeeded in igniting a race war. To add insult to very serious injury, President Obama refuses to use his powers as the commander in chief to destroy ISIS and other Muslim terrorists in a decisive way. The reason is obvious, and it's time for people to just start saying it: The "Muslim King" does not want to go hard against his Islamic brothers and frankly, in my view, sympathizes with their quest to have Allah reign supreme to further a worldwide caliphate. To add insult to injury, Obama has, through unconstitutional executive orders, opened the floodgates to millions of illegal immigrants who in many states like California can even obtain driver's licenses, allowing them to register to vote. Arizona Needs 10,000 Qualified Individuals Who Will Work On Election Day. The 2016 election cycle is going to be busier than ever as America elects a new President. This means Arizona could see record levels of voter participation. With more than 1,500 polling locations and seven positions needed per location, Secretary of State Michele Reagan is urging Arizonans to become an integral part of the process and join the ranks of those who serve as paid poll workers. “As we approach the August and November elections it’s possible that more Arizona voters participate in the process than we have seen in a long time,” said Reagan. “The simple truth is that poll workers are on the front lines of our democracy as they ensure our elections are run efficiently and fairly. Compensation varies, but each county pays their workers for their service. With more than 3.3 million registered voters in Arizona, voter turnout could reach 80 percent in the General Election with more than 2 million voters participating. With thousands of polling places scattered in every corner of the state, I would encourage those who would like to have a front row seat on election day to contact their local election officials and find out how they can get involved.” “To sign up as a poll worker, or to learn more about qualifications, training, responsibilities and compensation visit: www.azsos.gov or sign up: http://bit.ly/24AhNfy.

Congressman. Matt Salmon (AZ-05), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, and Rep. Eliot Engel (NY-16), Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, after introducing a bill to strengthen international cooperation and support freedom of navigation in the South China Sea: “Following this week’s landmark arbitral tribunal decision on the maritime territorial disputes in the South China Sea, China has already signaled its refusal to comply with the ruling, scorning international law and rejecting binding and peaceful dispute resolution. It is paramount, now more than ever, that we work to strengthen the security capabilities of our allies and partners in the South China Sea region. By increasing their capacity to monitor their own maritime territories, by improving their military and law enforcement prowess, and by building the bonds between our militaries, the maritime nations of Southeast Asia, we will be in a better position to negotiate a peaceful resolution to one of the most dangerous security situations of our times. This legislation builds upon our solid relationships with allies and partners in the region to shore up our response to China’s continued belligerence.”
