7-24-16 Briefs

Republican Briefs

Editor Frosty Taylor      Web Master John Strasser

The Pima County Republican Women and the Foundation for Responsible Accountable Government is hosting “13 Hours: The Inside Account Of What Really Happened In Benghazi at 7 pm., Fri, Sept 30 at DoubleTree Hilton Hotel Reid Park, 445 S Alvernon Way in Tucson. Kris Paronto tells the insider account of the attacks in Benghazi. The 13 hours of assault dramatically impacted the lives of those serving in Benghazi and resulted in the loss of an American diplomat, Ambassador Stevens, Info Officer Sean Smith and former Navy Seals Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods. Paronto shares the details of the moments, decisions and results of the historic day. Contact Mary Preble at 520-409-9269 to register for tickets or questions.

Town Crier Jim Ely: For a long time now the Arizona Town Crier (ATC) has been pointing out how and when AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham has acted autocratically and without regard of the will of WE THE PEOPLE (state committeemen).  See 7-23-16-briefs The ATC has even published bylaws procedures for a recall.  But when those in a position to do so, like the state executive committee or AzRA, refuse to do anything, what the heck does one expect?? New subject!  As reported earlier, there has been 59 applicants for an allowance of 249 Precinct committeemen in this county.  Whoop de do!!!!  How about in your county??  In this critical time, if we expect to win in November, the state chair must call a meeting of the county chairs who have purview  over the Precinct Committeemen, and lay out a comprehensive program of Precinct Committeemen recruitment, along with a GOTV (Get Out The Vote) program.  If we lose because of low voter turn out, who’s to blame?

Delegate/AZGOP Vice Chairman Gabby Saucedo-Mercer: Congressman from TX CD1 Louie Gohmert assured me that his Senator Ted Cruz was going to get behind the official candidate, Donald J Trump, (as he had pledged during the debates)... I had loaned my credentials to an alternate delegate so she could be at the floor at least once (it is a tradition) so I went to charge my phone and Cruz came out to deliver his speech, great, heartwarming speech I have to admit, BUT, I am ashamed of his punch line "vote your conscience" he must not have a conscience because he pledge he would get behind the nominee whomever that man/woman would be! Shameful!!!

Yavapai GOP Activist Jim Dutton: I kept the list of delegates and alternates chosen at the Arizona State Convention and there were at least 50 alternate delegates eligible for selection and each having 300+ more votes than the following people who were chosen:

Jan Brewer 93
Sal DiCiccio 80
Ron Ludders 62
Parralee Schneider 20
John Stevens 7
Tim Sifert not even on the ballot
Rae Chornenky not even on the ballot
Jeffrey Parker not even on the ballot
Ed Pellegrino not even on the ballot’

Unless the AZGOP can verify that all of these people were properly contacted prior to offering these positions to others, we must conclude that the rules and procedures were violated.

LDl3 PC JS Powelson to Donald Trump: The late Mr. Cruz chose to commit suicide on national TV. Enough said, there is a country to save and he made it clear he wants no part in that. Please just walk away from the body and speak no more about him, let him rot on into the dust of history.

AZRRT Final 2016 Report By Jose Borrajero How They Voted 2015-2016:  The race in the Republican Primary for positions in the AZ Legislature is now in high gear. As usual, most if not all Republican candidates will be claiming to be staunch conservatives as they ask for your vote, your assistance, and your money. But, how do we know where they really stand and whether they are worthy of our support? A possible answer to those questions may be found in an article created by the AZRRT and available for downloading at:

300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit, it will be edited.

Congressman Paul Gosar: Time to Unite: “A Clinton Administration will expand Obama’s amnesty policies that have resulted in the death of innocent Americans. Hillary Clinton will trample on the Second Amendment and strip guns away from law-abiding citizens. A Clinton Administration will continue the onslaught of overreaching and unconstitutional energy regulations that are killing jobs and harming American energy production. Hillary Clinton will appoint liberal justices that attempt to legislate from the bench. When it comes to Benghazi, Americans died and then Hillary Clinton lied. She has proven she can’t be trusted and is not responsible enough to handle classified information. Open borders and illegal immigration are the number one threat to our nation’s security. Donald Trump will secure the border and make America safe again. The EPA and Obama Administration are killing us in the West. Donald Trump has an America First Energy Plan that will rescind the EPA’s WOTUS rule, terminate Obama’s unconstitutional Climate Action Plan, restart the Keystone Pipeline and embrace a true “All-of-the-Above” energy strategy. Donald Trump has pledged to be a strong defender of the Second Amendment and to appoint conservatives to the Supreme Court. I wholeheartedly support Donald Trump and his vision to make America great again. Now is the time to unite. I encourage Conservatives, Republicans and all freedom-loving Americans that want to take back our country to embrace Donald Trump’s campaign.”

U.S. Senator John McCain joined 13 other senators in sending a letter requesting a markup of the Ozone Standards Implementation Act in the Senate Committee on Environmental and Public Works Energy, a bill he cosponsored that would update how the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) addresses ozone requirements in the Clean Air Act. Currently, the EPA must review national ambient air quality standards every five years. However, this has resulted in new ozone standards being issued before previous standards are implemented, which leaves states like Arizona vulnerable to simultaneously implementing two ozone standards. This could force most of the state’s counties out of compliance, which could result in penalties that would discourage new businesses from relocating to Arizona. The senators’ legislation would extend the time between each review from five years to 10 years, making it easier and more cost-effective for states to comply. “This legislation would adjust the schedule for the 2015 ozone standard to provide states time to complete work on the delayed 2008 standard,” write the senators. “We believe that Congress must act to ensure continued improvement of air quality improvements without unnecessarily draining limited state administrative and economic resources.”

Senator John McCain on Health Choice Insurance Co.’s announcement that it will exit the Obamacare marketplace next year. This is the third health insurer to exit the Arizona marketplace completely, with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona also exiting Obamacare-established exchanges in Maricopa and Pinal Counties: “After years of burdensome regulations and major financial losses, it’s no surprise that health insurers across Arizona are now dropping out of the Obamacare marketplace like flies. Today, Health Choice Insurance Co. announced it will join UnitedHealth and Humana in fleeing the Obamacare marketplace in Arizona, which will leave residents across the state with far less choice when it comes to health care next year. The crumbling of the president’s health care law further underscores that Obamacare is the wrong solution to health care reform. I remain committed to repealing and replacing this failed law with meaningful reform that puts patients back in charge of their health care decisions.” This Congress, Senators McCain and David Perdue (R-GA) introduced the Empowering Patients First Act, legislation that would fully repeal Obamacare and replace it with patient-centered solutions that increase accessibility, transportability, and insurability of health care.

Please comply with the 300 word limit policy. If statements exceeds the limit,

it will be edited. Briefs does not post endorsements.

Incumbent Congresswoman Martha McSally: I served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force, obtaining the highest level of security clearance during my service. Trust me when I say, I know the military protocols for ensuring sensitive information is kept safe. That's why I am so outraged at the double standard and free pass given to Secretary Clinton and her staff. We know in just about any other circumstance in the military, the type of illegal and unsafe handling of classified material would bring consequences — serious ones. The fact that this Administration is simply looking the other way is dead wrong. No one is above the law, especially when Americans' lives are at stake. Check out my Appearance on Fox News Discussing this Serious Breach of National Security: This is yet another appalling example of this Administration's wrong priorities and failed national security policies. And now my Democrat opponents and the Democrat establishment are doing everything they can to defeat me and provide them with a rubberstamp Congress to continue these disastrous policies. I believe we need more representatives who have served our country — and know what it means to sacrifice for our security. I'm determined to lead the way forward on Capitol Hill for a strong national defense and principled, ethical service. But I can't do that if the Democrats get their way in November. That's why I need your critical support Nancy Pelosi and the national Dems are out to knock me off and seize the House to continue their irresponsible foreign policies that jeopardize our national security — will you help me stop them?

John and Cindy McCain wrapped up their Northern Arizona tour in Williams, Kingman and Lake Havasu.  In Williams, they had a breakfast meeting in a historic restaurant with local community leaders. The day ended at the Grand Canyon for a meeting with local officials, sportsmen and ranchers regarding the Grand Canyon National Watershed Monument. In Kingman, John McCain spoke to business owners about issues directly impacting Mohave County and in Lake Havasu City he met with local supporters. John and Cindy McCain visited Prescott, Jerome, Flagstaff, Williams, Grand Canyon, Kingman, Lake Havasu City and Bullhead City during the Northern Arizona Tour.

Incumbent Sen John McCain: Another health insurer is exiting the federal marketplace in Arizona, leaving less options for Arizona families. Health Choice announced today that it is dropping all marketplace plans in Arizona next year.  While Obamacare continues to collapse, Democrat Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick is still standing by her “proudest vote” and Arizona families are angry that “life is not getting better.” Faced with Obamacare's mounting failures, Congresswoman Kirkpatrick's Democrat allies, led by Hillary Clinton, are trying to go even further to the left by proposing a single payer option .Obamacare is crumbling: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona and Health Net recently announced it will drop Obamacare plans next year in Maricopa and Pinal counties. For the counties where Blue Cross Blue Shield will remain, consumers are facing a proposed 65% premium rate increase. This news comes after an announcement that Humana and UnitedHealthcare will leave the Obamacare marketplace, adversely impacting rural Arizona. In total, more than 100,000 Arizonans will be left to find new health insurance plans next year. "Long-serving Democrat Congresswoman Kirkpatrick's liberal allies are trying to make an already failing health care system even worse," said Lorna Romero, Communications Director. "Yet, Kirkpatrick stands by her Democrat handlers while Arizona families suffer the financial burden. Her record of being a rubber-stamp for President Obama proves she is too liberal for Arizona."
