8-23-16 Briefs

Republican Briefs

Editor Frosty Taylor repcomm@cox.net    Web Master John Strasser

Registered Republicans Have Surged  past that of enrolled Independents for the first time since January of 2014, according to Secretary of State Michele Reagan. Of the state's 3,400,611 voters, 1,185,023 are Republicans, 1,019,050 are Democrats and 1,164,373 have not designated an officially recognized party preference.  Libertarians and members of the Green party make up a little less than one percent of the state’s total registration. “These numbers seem to indicate voters are reengaging with the political parties for this election cycle,” said Reagan.  “While many independents chose to register with the parties for the closed Presidential Preference Election, they apparently decided to stay.  It’s great to see the total number of registered voters grow during this election cycle regardless of their political affiliation.  I’m optimistic it will also translate into higher turnout at the polls.  Voters understand the issues in this election are too important for them to ignore.” The latest voter registration figures compiled by county, congressional district and legislative district are available on www.azsos.gov or by calling 1-877-THE-VOTE.

Volunteers Needed: Tea Party Patriots National Chairman Jenny Beth Martin is asking for phone bank volunteers to help make 50,000 calls by the end of the week for Arizona’s CD4 incumbent Paul Gosar. She says, “He’s the type of guy we need in office - one that fights for Arizona everyday rather than getting wrapped up in Washington’s political crony system. We need boots on the ground spreading the word that Arizona Needs Paul Gosar.” She needs volunteers who are willing to make 35 calls per evening – roughly one hour of your time. Sign up here teapartypatriotscitizens Editor’s Note: It is common knowledge within the political circle that Gosar, known as one of the hardest working congressmen in Washington, DC has been targeted because he has stood up to GOP Establishment players Paul Ryan and John Boehner.

Gov Doug Ducey’s Former Aid Sara Mueller has taken the position of State Director of the AZGOP’s statewide victory activities for the November 8 election. Mueller was part of Ducey’s team in his run for state treasurer. She was his deputy campaign manager in 2015 and was his senior advisor after the election.

AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham reacted enthusiastically to today’s report from the Arizona Secretary of State that Arizona’s Republican voters now outnumber registered independents by more than 20,000 voters, and Republicans exceed Democrats by 165,000 voters. “It took a lot of hard work but we’ve reversed a trend more than a decade in the making, and the biggest reason the Arizona Republican party is so strong today is our outreach to voters throughout the state,” said Graham. “Arizona is a very strong red state, and it’s good to see today’s numbers confirming our strength and ratifying the work of the party and the confidence voters have in our candidates. Right now we’re gearing up everywhere and we’ll have more than a dozen party offices open throughout Arizona for the November election. Our Trump Tuesday events are already having a tremendous effect as we reach out to voters to encourage support for our party’s nominees. Our precinct committeemen throughout the state, more than five thousand strong, have been knocking on doors and registering voters. We’re confident that our Republican ticket is going to receive a lot of support in this election, and we’re very encouraged today to see the latest proof that not only voters, but also donors, are lining up to support the Arizona Republican Party,” Graham added. Federal reports (fec.gov) show AZGOP fundraising from individual contributors ($1,414,718) is 30 percent higher than that of the Arizona Democratic Party ($1,076,664). “The Arizona Democrats can import money, but they can’t import voters,” Graham added. “Hillary Clinton promised to spend more in Arizona, but we’re working hard to put up a big red wall and stop liberals like Hillary Clinton and Ann Kirkpatrick."
