Republican Briefs

Yuma County Republican Chairman Jonathan Lines, has announced his candidacy for chairman of the Arizona Republican Party. “After time, careful consideration, and consulting with my wife and children, I have decided to run for Chairman of the Arizona Republican Party,” said Lines. “The Arizona Republican Party has experienced an unprecedented amount of growth and success the past several years. With President-Elect Donald Trump and a Republican Congress, it is imperative that we keep up the Republican Party’s momentum in our state. Not only must we sustain our progress, but we must also expand our successes. Therefore, it is critical that we elect a committed and tested conservative leader who unites the Arizona Republican Party with a vision for the future.” Lines is a conservative businessman whose family settled in Arizona in the 1800s.As a local community leader and a family man from Yuma, Lines has had the privilege of serving as the Yuma County Republican Party Chairman for the past six years. Lines was also a national delegate to the 2012 and 2016 Republican National Conventions. In January 2015, he was elected as the Arizona Republican Party State Treasurer, where he has been part of the leadership team that has enjoyed historicfund-raising and election success. Lines serves in multiple community and statewide organizations in addition to being involved in numerous business enterprises. He owns a construction company, serves on the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America Grand Canyon Council, is the State Representative for the Arizona Game and Fish Heritage Board, is a faith group leader, and a Second Amendment enthusiast. Lines and his wife, Rosie, are the proud parents of 11 children.

LD 22 Secretarial candidate Claudia Burr: Please consider me for the position of LD-22 Secretary with the following:

  1. Life-long Republican; my first vote cast was for Richard Nixon in the 1972 election....I had just turned 19 and they had made it possible for those less than 21 to vote earlier that year.
  2. I have BS in Public Administration from the University of Southern California and a MBA from Texas A&M.
  3. I worked in the private sector for 15 years and then for contractors for the Department of Energy for about 20 years.  I am a Certified Human Resources Professional.  I spent much of my time in the quality movement and taught at community college for 3 years before teaching at the Washington State University's School of Business for 6 years in all Human Resources upper level courses.  I was a quality engineer, a process improvement and human resources specialist, a director of human resources and have done all types of recruiting for technical and non technical fields.
  4. I love doing things right the first time and will support anyone who likes to do the right things.  I am not big on last minute chaos but rather planned events and enjoy working behind the scenes to "git 'er done."
  5. I follow through and believe to be reliable.  I am a task master.
  6. I like to work with teams to get things going because the ideas are better and the results are owned by the entire team.

If this is sort of what you are looking for in a secretary, I'm your gal!

LD22 Second Vice Chair Candidate Van DiCarlo:  Having have been the Secretary of LD22 GOP for the last two years, I’m the guy at the front door who watches everyone as they sign those pesky sign in sheets. I also take the minutes of each meeting, send out most of the e-mails from the LD, and maintain the LD’s records. I’ve seen how hard our PCs worked to get out the vote for our Republican candidates. I’m inspired by your enthusiasm and commitment and I’d like to help expand that tradition. We have just come through a long election cycle and we should be proud of the efforts this LD advanced toward the election of President Elect Donald Trump. We must continue, with equal enthusiasm, to prepare for the mid- terms. It’s a never ending battle because the left is always thinking of new ways to get into your pocket and erode your rights. During the primary election we lost many PCs and our ranks have shrunk. We must concentrate our efforts on replacing those lost and expand to a full compliment of Committeemen. We should monitor and hold accountable those elected officials. My goal as 2nd Vice Chairman will be first and foremost to assist the Chairman in any effort he or she deems necessary to achieve the goals of the district. However, during the next two years, recruitment is the most important of those goals. I recommend we move across the LD, soliciting the participation of our fellow Republican voters to fill our ranks. It’s a more manageable way to attack the immense task of contacting and recruiting Committeemen LD wide. By paring the task down to small manageable segments we should be able to maximize our success. Let’s make LD22 even more successful than we have been in the past. I ask for your vote.

Anti-Trump Protester Challenges Tucker Carlson – Big Mistake! Point by point, Carlson handed the young impressionable liberal a well-deserved intellectual spanking.

Arizona Town Crier Jim Ely: Taken from the MCRC Briefs:  “What Is A Republican Precinct Committeeman, Precinct Committeemen Time Requirements And Duties “ --Taken from the Arizona Revised Statutes:  “E. The minimum duties of a precinct committeeman (PC) shall be to assist his political party in voter registration and to assist the voters of his political party to vote on election days. Additional duties shall be as provided for in the state committee bylaws of the party of which he is a member.” Taken from the AZ GOP bylaws: “????” Leadership starts at the top.  The state of Arizona delegates the duties of PCs to the political parties.  In the case of AZ GOP duties of the PCs are obviously left to LDs and counties.  Obviously no leadership from the top!  When at one time this county had over 150 PCs for an allowance of over 200, we now have less that a hundred.  It’s easy enough to outline the duties requested of a PC, but how about rewards???  What about communications???  If a PC is to work their ‘buns’ off  to help get someone elected, shouldn’t the PC be kept up to date on any progress or legislative actions??  The two links above from ‘Frosty’ Gives a good why and how, but what does one hear from the party’s leadership??  And, why  be an active PC is one’s own voice is not heard??  Where is any ‘feedback’ system??   What are any ‘rewards’ for being a good PC??  Does anyone see a good PC recruitment and training program in the AZ GOP bylaws??  WE THE PEOPLE appear to be overshadowed by the perks and power of the party and elected elite.  The state has an allowance of over 9000 PCs.  How many do we have?  Go ‘figger’!

Congressman Paul Gosar: Following Donald Trump’s victory, we now have an unprecedented opportunity to take the mandate given to Congress by WE THE PEOPLE and make real changes that will benefit all Americans for generations. In addition to border enforcement, infrastructure rebuilding and free market reforms for health care, there is a chance to restore Congress's Article I Constitutional authority and our power of the purse. This power was intended to protect America from a lawless executive branch but has been eroded by Republican and Democratic presidents for decades. I promised Arizonans that I would fight to restore this balance of power to the people’s House. That’s why this past week, I hand delivered legislation to Speaker Ryan that would authorize the Speaker to hold the executive branch accountable for violating the power of the purse, specifically for the administration’s lawless executive actions on immigration. My legislation ensures that we can start fresh with a new president, join him as an equal branch of government and fully restore our Constitutional authority. Click HERE to read my full letter to Speaker Ryan.

Congressman Paul Gosar: As one of the foundations of Arizona’s economy, I’m proud to see copper development back on the rise in the Grand Canyon State. Congress has a responsibility to continue supporting this vital industry which provides good-paying jobs and reduces the U.S. dependence on foreign critical minerals. The misguided "Keep It in the Ground" campaign, pushed by the Obama Administration and extremist environmentalists, has wreaked havoc on the mining industry and negatively impacted Americans in rural communities across the country. The commonsense legislation that I introduced this past Thursday will create 400 jobs in one of the fifth poorest communities in the nation. It’s time for the BLM to stop playing politics so we can put Americans back to work. Click HERE to learn more.
