Republican Briefs

Editor Frosty Taylor  repcomm@cox.net       Web Master John Strasser

The Widowed Wife Of Chris Kyle, American hero, has called for an apology from Senator John McCain (R-AZ) for comments that he made about the Navy Seal raid on Al Qaeda, in Yemen, that resulted in the death of Chief Petty Officer William Ryan Owens. McCain, the head of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said,“…When you lose a $75 million airplane, and more importantly, American lives are lost- a life is lost and wounded, I don’t believe that you could call it a success.” By his definition, we can assume that America’s fight against the Nazis during World War II was not a success either. Apparently, the war was an abysmal failure as over 400,000 brave American soldiers sacrificed their lives for the greater cause of defeating Adolf Hitler and fascism.” McCain received a backlash for his comments, including Fox News contributor, Taya Kyle, who appeared on Fox and Friends to demand an apology, “He certainly could apologize to the family for saying it was a failure because that insinuates that his life was given for nothing and it wasn’t.” She went on to say that, although there was a loss of American life, the operatives turned out to be successful in terms of what they accomplished. “Too Late - Cat's Out Of The Bag Now,” responded one reader when the individual learned that the LD23 Executive Committee decided to take no action on LD23 PC Ardith Hildebrant’s “Calling Out the Guisling Resolution.” The resolution, that pointed out alleged misbehavior of some LD23 PCs, has circulated throughout Phoenix for over a week.

The AZGOP Has Its Knickers In A Bind over the recently surfaced debt for the “Ballot Harvesting” court costs incurred over the past year. Newly elected Chairman Jonathan Lines got hit with a “surprise” bill during his second week in office.  There is no doubt that AZGOP owes the legal beagles for their winning work. As explained during the AZGOP/PCs tele town hall last night, the AZ Attorney General  simply doesn’t have the resources to fight this case alone. Nor is there any doubt about the importance of winning this case and how winning will make ripples across the nation. Make no mistake, the Dems are going to fight like hell as this case moves into the “trial portion” this fall. So AZGOP faces even more legal costs as this important case moves along. Since learning of the debt - inherited with the oath of office - Lines sent out a plea for funding from Arizona PCs. During the tele town hall, Lines revealed he is also reaching out to others facing ballot harvesting problems. Let’s hope they are generous – after all, if Arizona wins, they can win. The eyes of the nation are upon us… and the AZGOP legal counsel! - ft

“B…S…,” bellowed a caller after the town hall session ended and participants weren’t told how much debt AZGOP has incurred on the “ballot harvesting” proceeding because leadership doesn’t want the Dems to know. Does anyone really think Dem leadership hasn’t picked up on the scuttlebutt regarding the AZGOP debt? We’re told how “transparent” the AZGOP is, but newly elected Chairman Jonathan Lines says the debt came as a “surprise” when Executive Director Avinash Iragavarapu and transitional team member Teresa Martinez, informed him two weeks into his chairmanship… never mind that he had been the AZGOP Treasurer for two years prior to moving up the ladder. Of all people, why wasn’t the treasurer kept better informed? Maybe because he resides in Yuma and isn’t in headquarters every day?? After all, that’s quite a drive. But why all the secrecy??

Ironically, the “little secret” has been circulating among “folks in the know” since the first of the year. Why wasn’t GOP leadership  up front with accurate figures instead of letting speculative six digit figures float around in the shadows since early 2017? It’s not as though the debt hasn’t been growing for months.

Others wonder why anyone would take on the chairmanship if they had any clue of the Party’s legal debt. Stuck with the bill, Lines says he has been reaching out to potential funding sources since this case is really a national issue and will affect other states. Does the Republican National Committee (RNC) question what is/has been going on in Arizona when approached to help bail out the AZGOP? After all, the former Arizona Chair Robert Graham was all primed to step into Reince Priebus’s shoes… until that backfired. The coming year is going to be an interesting ride. – ft

State Committeewoman Shirley Dye of Payson brought up an interesting issue during last night’s AZGOP tele-town hall. Dye, concerned over the use (abuse) of proxies at state committee meetings, wants to know why the AZGOP can’t do away with the controversial proxies and return to the days when an alternate was sent to the state meeting to represent an absent voting member. Those alternates were voted on by their legislative district instead of someone carrying proxies from uninterested people who were signed up as PCs so the power hungry can use their vote to gain more party control. Lines assured Dye the issue would be discussed. It has since been pointed out by a PC, that “discussing” doesn’t mean the state executive committeemen will have the cajones to take action to correct the situation. – ft

Some other interesting questions were answered during last night’s AZGOP tele town hall that was scheduled to start at 5:30 pm, however, Briefs phone didn’t ring until 5:45 pm when a voice announced the “town hall was in progress”. I assume the first 15 minutes provided preliminary information regarding ballot harvesting. After the town hall call ended, Briefs learned that some people who had registered for inclusion on the phone list – never got called to sit in or participate. - ft

Today Is The Deadline to register for The Arrowhead Republican Women/Central Republican Women Of Phoenix 11:30 am. Mobilization of Conservatives in Prescott is planning a counter demonstration to support President Donald Trump between 1-2 pm., Tues., March 14 at 122 N Cortez Street (Bulleri Bid). This is a counter to the “Resist Trump Tuesdays that draws about 50 people. Contact: Myrna Lieberman at MOC1776@GMAIL.com

Yavapai County Republican Myrna Lieberman is asking area registered Republican women to meet with her to create a Conservative Women’s Activist Group. Although there are other Republican clubs in the area, Lieberman wants to form a “political action group” that is willing to “flood twitter, make telephone calls and send e-mails” to counter the Left’s attempts to delegitimize President Donald J Trump and his agenda. “Trump does not have the support of the media, nor all of the Republicans. We need to show our support. The ‘Grab your Pocket Campaign’ is succeeding in removing Ivanka’s clothing line from major department stores. The Left is relentless and we must be as well,” Lieberman said. She can be reached at myrna01@gmail.com

LD13 PC John Powelson: McCain's "Half of BIE students don't graduate". The fact that spending more than half again on the students in the care of the Federal Government should not be lost on the people of Arizona. Even the hefty $15,000 per year is not enough to get them to the finish line with a diploma in hand. This is where we are headed if we don’t stop the slide and it isn’t for lack of money as this proves. Every time schools ask for more money or an override we should remember that every time the federal government is trying to call the tune in educating our children/grandchildren we should be outraged. Our Federal Government has been running the lives of these tribes and their people for about 140 years, an entire century and parts of two more and look where it has gotten them. The main feature of their lives is a Socialist Bureaucracy which cost the government and the taxpayer billions of dollars and kept those it was supposed to help in a downwards spiral for 140 years. We can’t afford to let this happen to our schools and our family’s. We must get the national government out of our schools and our lives and back to their original charter laid down in the Constitution of the USA. While we are at it, it is time to cut the strings on the people who have suffered in this Socialist experiment on reservations across the country for more than a century. Help them with farming and ranching on their own lands to begin with and they can have their own schools and attend college where ever they feel likely to succeed in their chosen endeavor, just like the rest of US. LD14 PC Bruce M Piepho: As idiotic as the left Democrats, rioters and, main stream left media appear; Republicans in Arizona are more crazy for 1) allowing the AZGOP swamp to exist and 2) to continue ignoring the State Republican Party By-laws and allow a Chairman to continue accepting corrupt black money from McCain sources with Democrat donors. McCain support and aid from the past AZGOP chairman Graham purged and replaced conservative Precinct Committeemen/women (PCs) in Arizona. Now a newly elected AZGOP Chairman continues the swamp alligator ways of the past by denial of access to records for the newly elected AZGOP Secretary and Treasurer.  Chairman Lines controls the state party budget instead of the AZGOP Executive committee?  And we the PCs allow that over the top control of the budget by Lines? Every Republican PC in the state should be upset from the postings in MCRC Briefs revealing the AZGOP corruption and also join the AzRA to aid reforming the Arizona Republican State Party - AZGOP. The 3/7/2017 Briefs commentary by Ely is spot on to high light the AZGOP Swamp waters.  Arizona Town Crier author Ely has been a strong consistent, persistent and sometimes not very patient but solid Republican voice of common sense, principled expositor. You, all AZ PCs, need to find the truth of the AZGOP Swamp and assume the responsibility as a PC to take corrective action.  To do less is to condone and join in complicity to the AZGOP, McCain, Graham and now Lines misdeeds.
