Blessed Easter Greetings from The Arizona AMERICAN African Republican Committee - Chairman, Rev Clyde Bowen -- Mathew 20:17-19 Now, Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them," We are going up to Jerusalem and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!" Mathew 28:6 "He is risen!"

Arizona House of Representatives candidate Miryam Gutier-Elm is seeking the appointment to the seat being vacated by LD22 Rep. Phil Lovas. The appointment will be made by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors from a list of three nominees selected by the LD22 Precinct Committeemen. “We’re proud of Phil Lovas for both his public service and his new appointment. His departure leaves not only big shoes, but an immediate need because the Legislature is currently in the middle of budget negotiations and there are dozens of other issues are also waiting to be voted on. That is why it is important to appoint someone who is familiar with the legislative process, the legislators themselves, and as many of the issues being debated as possible,” Gutier-Elm said. She has spent many years working with the Legislature on important West Valley issues like Luke Air Force Base. She has also been an advocate for the Sun City Homeowners Association and Property Owners and Residents Association (PORA) on issues at the Legislature. She has been active in the Republican Party since she was a kid, working hard for conservative causes and candidates. She has been a member of Teenage Republicans and President of Phoenix Young Republicans. She is currently an active member of the Arizona Federation of Republican Women. Sine Kerr, Of Buckeye, Has Filed Her Campaign Paperwork for the LD13 House seat that Don Shooter will be leaving to run for State Senate. Conservative Kerr’s top priorities include Arizona’s economy, schools, and quality of life. “Arizona is doing far better than most states when it comes to reform and growth, but not every part of the state feels it. We need to continue to attract jobs, employers, and growth, so that every Arizona family in every corner of the state can feel it. And we need growth in every sector of our economy, including the agricultural sectors that are so critical to our district.” said Kerr. When her father retired from the U.S. Army, he moved 3-year old Sine and the rest of the family to Buckeye, Arizona. Sixteen years later she married her high school sweetheart Bill and the two of them have since had one son and three daughters who are all now married. They have eight grandchildren with two more on the way. In 1980, Sine and Bill started their dairy business with 15 cows. Thanks to hard work and dedication, today they have 1,100 milk cows and 800 replacement heifers. Kerr’s passion for agriculture extends beyond their farm and dairy as she sits on the AZ Farm Bureau’s Board of Directors and is serving her first term as the Women¹s Leadership Chair. She also advocates frequently on behalf of AZ farmers and ranchers whenever the opportunity arises. Her other passions include family and children’s issues, caring for and serving our veterans (five consecutive generations in her family have served in the military), and education issues. Kerr also serves on the Buckeye Valley Chamber of Commerce and was appointed to the Maricopa County Air Quality Hearing Board. Contact: Constantin Querard (480) 703-8145.

LD24 PC Tristan Manos observing "MCRC Executive Committee proactive and transparent hypocrisy": "It's remarkable to see Friday's MCRC Official Newsletter (4/14/17), signed by MCRC Chairman Chris Herring (the newsletter serving as the official MCRC PC information resource, communicating to PCs, highlighting PC activities) a story posted highlights the 4/4/17 election of the new MCRC EGC Member-at-Large (MAL), but, most ironically, this same newsletter never even mentioned -- before the election -- that the election was even taking place (likewise, never mentioning the opportunity for PCs to run for MAL, submit nominations, and attend the election to observe the proceedings). Whoever the newly-elected MAL may be is beside the point (wishing all the best to her). The point is getting important information to "We The PCs." It's obvious there were multiple missed opportunities. In the Official Call, the MCRC Chairman asked the LD Chairmen directly to get the MAL Election information to their PCs, although there were more opportunities than only that, like calling attention to it in... say, the same official MCRC Newsletter that made a big deal about the election after it took place. If it's important enough to highlight now, it was also important enough to highlight then (more so?). I've asked the 20 MCRC LD Chairmen if they got the MAL Election information to their PCs, and, so far, only 11 LD Chairmen answered the question: 5 "YES" and 6 "NO." 9 more to go. Once all answer directly, or PCs in those LDs rightly confirm a "YES" or "NO" answer, I'll be posting the final results here. Stay tuned. PS: If you're a PC in LDs 4, 12, 17, 19, 20, 21, 25, 27, or 28, please feel free to email me sharing information as to how things played out in your LD."

AMERICAN African Republican Committee Chairman Rev Clyde Bowen - Exodus 12:25-27 "When you enter the Land the LORD will give you, as He has promised, you shall observe this rite". And when the children say to you ' What does this rite mean to you?' you shall say, " It is the Passover sacrifice to the LORD who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when he smote the Egyptians, but spared our homes ". And the people bowed low and worshipped. Shalom and Blessings. Safe, happy continuing Passover.

The Arizona Game and Fish Department cautions that people should “leave baby wildlife alone.” The warning follows the arrest during a recent traffic stop in Wickenburg, in which officers removed a deer fawn from a vehicle. The fawn was confiscated and transferred to the department’s wildlife center in Phoenix, where it continues to be treated by a local veterinarian. The fawn will be placed at a licensed zoo in Arizona once deemed healthy enough to be transported. “Because of the irresponsible actions of one or more individuals, this deer fawn is now reliant on humans for its survival,” said Mike Demlong, AZGFD Wildlife Education program manager. “While their actions may have been well intentioned, in reality they have doomed this fawn to a life in captivity. Although some baby wildlife may appear to have been abandoned, its mother likely ‘parked’ the fawn in one location while they foraged for food and water. The best choice would have been to leave the fawn alone and to walk away.” AZGFD reminds those who come across young or baby wildlife that most often the best decision is to leave them alone. “Picking up or ‘rescuing’ seemingly abandoned baby wildlife is often unnecessary, and in most cases only results in an animal being left an orphan,” Demlong said. “Baby wildlife raised by humans are less likely to survive if they are released back into the wild.” Some species of baby animals, such as elk calves or deer fawns, may be euthanized because they cannot be released back into the wild due to disease concerns and the unfortunate fact that zoos and sanctuaries have limited space to hold them. For Those With A Sense Of Humor: The king wanted to go fishing, so he called on the royal weather forecaster and inquired as to the weather forecast for the next few hours. The weatherman assured him that there was no chance of rain in the coming days,  So the king went fishing with his wife, the queen.  On the way he met a farmer on his donkey.  Upon seeing the king the farmer said, "Your Majesty, you should return to the palace!  In just a short time I expect a huge amount of rain to fall in this area". The king was polite and considerate, he replied: "I hold the palace  meteorologist in high regard.  He is an extensively educated and experienced professional.  And besides, I pay him very high wages.  He gave me a very different forecast. I trust him." So the king continued on his way.  However, a short time later a torrential rain fell from the sky.  The King and Queen were totally soaked and their entourage chuckled upon seeing them in such a shameful condition. Furious, the king returned to the palace and gave the order to fire the professional.  Then he summoned the farmer and offered him the prestigious and high paying role of royal forecaster. The farmer said, "Your Majesty, I do not know anything about forecasting.  I obtain my information from my donkey.  If I see my donkey's ears drooping, it means with certainty that it will rain." So the king hired the donkey. And thus began the practice of hiring dumb asses to work in the  government and occupy its highest and most influential positions. The practice is unbroken to this date and thus, the democrat symbol was born!!!

AzCDL Update: Thanks to the over 3,000 emails AzCDL activists sent to the Governor this week he signed HB 2477 and SB 1344. The effective date of these bills will be 90 days after the legislature adjourns.  HB 2477 makes critical reforms to civil asset forfeiture laws.  SB 1344 is the AzCDL-requested bill that clarifies that state and local governments cannot regulate the possession of weapons by employees or contractors in or on their privately owned property or vehicles.

Legislative Update: Legislation we are monitoring this session can be found on AzCDL's Bill Tracking page.  The following is an update.  Two bills, HB 2216 and SB 1122, need your help.
HB 2022, which would exempt from the definition of "unlawful discharge" the use of .22 caliber or smaller snake or rat shot, died in the Senate by a tie vote on April 10.  Republican Senators
Kate Brophy McGee and Bob Worsely joined with the Democrats to defeat HB 2022.

Take Action Now: HB 2216, which would make it unlawful to mandate "electronic firearm tracking technology," a component of "smart gun" technology, is scheduled for a House Final Read vote on Monday, April 17.  This is the last step before being sent to the Governor.  email to your Representatives.
SB 1122, which would prohibit the search of any federal or state databases as a requirement for transferring personal property (such as your firearms), is scheduled for a House COW hearing on Monday, April 17.  If you have not yet told your Representatives to support SB 1122, there is still time.
email to your Representatives.
As bills progress we will alert you about emails that we have prepared and are ready for you to send to your legislators or the Governor.  Your participation is critical to helping these bills become law.

A Free Briefing On The Regulation Freedom Amendment, featuring Roman Buhler, director of the Madison Coalition, chief proponent of the Regulation Freedom Amendment, is scheduled at 4:30 pm., Tues., May 2 at on the patio of La Canasta Capitolio, 1733 W Van Bren Road in Phoenix.

Mark Lewis, Director Central AZ Project: Coal miners are seeing some hope in new clean coal technology that is coming on line in 2017, and lower coal costs help keep plants running. Energy Secretary Rick Perry on Thursday helped open the world's largest clean coal power plant in Texas, costing $1 billion dollars for a 240 MW plant. Another new type of coal to gas plant Kemper will also be opened this month in Louisiana, but its $2 billion over budget compared to the Petro Nova plant in TX. A 3rd type of prototype Clean power plant will also open this year, in TX using the new Allum cycle process to directly drive turbines from High pressure CO2. This Allum cycle plant will be built in ND, without any Federal subsidies, and become a baseload resource. Many of these clean coal solutions received $4 billion in tax payer subsidies but that’s nothing compared to the massive $179 billion in wind power subsidies already given by Obama. I am not certain these cutting edge Clean coal technologies, will overcome the massive flooding of cheap solar / gas on the western grid by California. Power prices in CA where down 1,400% yesterday to nearly free, because of the excess solar on the grid. California is looking to dump their over capacity power onto AZ markets causing both Coal and Nuclear energy to be damaged. The Trumper teams cannot move fast enough to overcome decades of damage to the US economy by Carbon Tax teams under Obama. If we have FERC mandate that states like California, who over build solar and wind, capture and store their excess energy in massive batteries and pumped storage projects, we could avoid damages to the remaining coal and nuclear energy fleet in the US. And we would store more water for droughts.
