5-1-17 Briefs

Former AZGOP Chairman/Federal Marshall Candidate Tom Morrissey responds to friends of David Gonzalez’s response 2017_04_29_archive to Morrissey’s Federal Marshall candidacy.  2017_04_28_archive Morrissey writes: He's a decent man, however, the Presidential Appointment to US Marshal is political, and a product of an ideology that brings a party to power through an election.  This past election was driven by three entities, the Democrats, the Republican Establishment and the Republican Grassroots.  I was part of the Grassroots with Donald Trump from DAY ONE, and still am.  My disagreement is with the GOP Establishment Elite whom I believe are misleading the President by fostering Gonzalez appointment. David admits that he had the support of the ENTIRE Democratic congressional delegation and John McCain when he was originally appointed by George W Bush.  Compare that to my support from Congressmen Franks, Schweikert, Gosar and Biggs, Sheriff Joe, Senator Russell Pearce.  Gonzalez claims he wasn't appointed by Barack Obama twice, when he was actually reappointed by Obama twice, and sits in that office now, as a result.

My wife and I were knee deep in helping with the Trump campaign.  I drove in his motorcades.  A veteran of the US Army, I chaired the Arizona Veterans for Trump.  And we worked in Nevada as unpaid volunteers prior to Nevada caucus election.

Gonzalez says that he is a Republican, yet I have never heard of his activity in all my years of service to this party. I fully understand the limits placed on him by the Hatch Act, I was under the same as a Chief Deputy US Marshal, but that does not prohibit him from supporting a candidate of his choosing.  It prohibits him from bringing that support to the workplace.  Compare that to my service in the party. The Establishment makes me sick when I see what they do and how they consistently misrepresent who they are.  That is what this all boils down to. It will be God's will if I don't get the appointment and maybe He has something else in mind for me.  Like running against Paul Penzone.

LD22 PC Linda Russell: I have emailed Kate McGee several times asking why she consistently votes Democrat on very important bills. Of course, she doesn't answer. I saw that she will be speaking at Central Republican Women, do you know anyone in that area who will question her? Or is going to question her on those crucial votes?

AZ Citizens Defense League (AzCDL) Action Request: SB 1122, which would prohibit the search of any federal or state database as a requirement for transferring personal property (such as your firearm), was sent to the Governor on April 25.  He has until Monday, May 1, to make his decision. The passage of SB 1122 would make it more difficult to register Arizona gun owners.  The anti-rights left is pulling out all the stops to kill the bill.  We need to let the Governor know that there are more of us who cherish our freedoms, and we want him to sign SB 1122. If you have not yet contacted the Governor urging him to sign SB 1122, time is running out.   We have prepared an email for you to send to the Governor urging him to sign SB 1122 into law.  You can send it as is or personalize it with your remarks.  Click here to send your email to Governor Ducey. If you encounter any difficulties sending your email to the Governor, contact Fred at for help. These alerts are a project of the Arizona Citizens Defense League (AzCDL), an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization.

Former AZ PC Wayne Blair: Well, the left wing love fest last night had as their host the "not ready for prime time" comic- a muslim by the name of Hasan Minjaj.  This so-called comic is the resident think tanker for the Daily Show, which is popular among brain dead people who are too lazy or incompetent to check facts out, or read. I don't see how these people, the so-called journalists at their correspondent's grab feed, can even call themselves journalists. All it did was a confirm that most American journalists are no longer interested in reporting the news and their ONLY interest is to tear apart and throw stones at President Trump, along with their Hollywood idols.  Just about every headline you see today, in the rags of America called national newspapers, have negative headlines about the President. North Korea-on back page?  Starving Americans because of Obama policies-not mentioned.  Sex scandals by Democrats - read them as graffiti on their bathroom walls.  Journalist in America have become jokes, like the used car salesman jokes of the days of old. "Hasan Minhaj comes from a Muslim family originally from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India.”

Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl: In spite of my love for my beloved county and Precinct Committeemen, I must pledge my support and devotion to the state chairman for whatever he wants to prove that I am a loyal and loyal Republican party member!  Here is proof: ”I was present at the Executive Committee meeting in Yuma, where the county chairs all stood up to report what they have been doing in their counties. Some of them had good things to report. However, when it came to voting on anything, the group was a rubberstamp for the chairman. When one man stood up to say "How can we vote on a budget when the new treasurer can't even get the books he needs to do his job?" He was called "out of order" and the vote on the budget was rushed through. It passed all-but-unanimously. Only two people objected--the one who stood up and one valiant woman in the group.  Thought you'd like to know these details. “ Basic Principles of Parliamentary Procedure (PRO) - All members have equal rights, privileges and obligations. A quorum must be present for the group to act – if the bylaws of the organization do not establish a quorum, the general rule is that a majority of the entire membership must be present in order to transact business. Full and free discussion of every motion is a basic right. If the question above was relevant to the motion, how in the heck can it be called ‘out of order?? This is all the more reason why the appointed positions in the party should be approved by the Executive Committee, like the U.S. Senate does with POTUS nominations.  We have seen where the state chair does not appoint any position to anyone who is not on the chair’s team!!  We have seen parliamentary tactics pulled before, and every county chair should be conversant with RRO and have a copy in their possession.  Ignorance of RRO has given the chair more power than it should.

Senator Sylvia Tenney Allen: Hopefully, the 2018 FY state budget will be passed this week.  $10 billion dollars of your money will be appropriated to run state government for another year.  It will be structurally balanced and education will receive half of the budget. I hold taxpayer dollars as sacred, maybe that sounds silly to you but I take this very seriously.  I try to be a voice asking for reform, streamlining agencies, and making priorities that are most important that we have Constitutionally been required to fund.  I am not always 100% happy with the budget but compromise is required to get the votes.  That is why it is important to have a majority of Legislators whose principles are closely aligned. Once the budget process is started, there can be 8 to 12 bills needing to be voted separately. It takes three days to introduce and hear the bills in Appropriation Committee. We get through about 5am the next morning. You must get 47 Legislators and the Governor to agree on how this $10 billion will be spent and it has taken us two months to get to this point. Those who oppose the budget will filibuster for hours.  I have heard the same message over and over: " You are not funding education we still have not restored what you cut in the recession instead you have given tax cuts to the wealthy."  "The Republicans are not giving enough money to healthcare, childcare, drug treatment, mentally ill, homeless, instead they give tax cuts to the wealthy."  And so it goes on all night. What they are really saying is, "taxpayers you are not paying enough taxes and we want government to take more."
