President Trump spoke to 50 leaders from Muslim countries on terrorism and challenges to the greater Middle East during his first foreign trip. Watch Trump's speech here
Trump Calls For Coalition To Stamp Out Extremism Trump Calls For Coalition to Stamp Out Extremism “…And, in his first major foreign policy address as president Trump said the fight against terrorism "is not a battle between different faiths, different sects, or different civilizations. This is a battle between those who seek to obliterate human life and those who seek to protect it." Trump continued that, "terrorists don't worship God. They worship death." Trump is speaking in front of an audience of leaders from Arab and Muslim-majority nations. He says the U.S. is prepared to stand with those leaders in the fight against extremists, but that those countries must take the lead. He urged them to drive extremists "out of your places of worship. Drive them out of your community. Drive them out of your Holy Land."
Saudi-Arabia-Awards-President-Trump-Their-Highest-Civilian-Honor “…He received the award during a ceremony in the nation’s capital city. Saudi Arabia King Salman placed the King Abdulaziz al Saud Collar around President Trump’s neck on Saturday during a ceremony in the country’s capital. The gold medallion is considered the kingdom’s highest civilian honor. The host of the event declared that Trump was being honored for “his quest to enhance security and stability in the region and around the world,” according to the Associated Press.

Longtime Activist AZ Phil Mason: Disingenuous?? Let’s talk truth here. A lie is intentionally leading others to believe a false narrative. Using that as the foundation of a serious discussion, the people that have created low teacher pay and any "crisis", is the monopolistic policies of the district school bureaucracy. While they continually cry wolf about low funding, their total revenue stream has grown to the highest levels in history. There are only two sources that are reliable when coming to the real FACTS about education funding - The non-partisan Arizona Auditor General and the non-partisan Joint Legislative Budget Committee. Both of those sources clearly lay out the two decade track record of school superintendents intentionally diverting funds from the Classroom (Teacher Pay). School leaders NEVER talk about their total revenues, in fact, they do not even list their total revenues. Between constant increases in property taxes, grants, and a myriad of other indirect (non-tax) huge sources of revenue, they are living on an all-time high in dollars. The number of certified administrators and classified managers has proliferated in the same time period that those very bureaucrats have assailed the legislature for low teacher pay. Supt of Public Instruction Diane Douglas knows this and spoke forcefully on those facts when running for office, but has not maintained the strength necessary to oppose those destructive policies once in office. The incontrovertible facts bring one to the truth that the more money the district bureaucrats receive, the larger percentage of those funds they divert away from the classroom and teacher pay. The Auditor General clearly states that this trend has been unbroken year after year since 2001. It is time for Superintendent Douglas to return to what she knows is the truth - Tax increases are not the answer, requiring school districts to prioritize funding to the classroom is the only rational solution. Mason is a former AzRA officer, former AZGOP official, and long-time GOP PC.
Activist Alan Korwin to Rebekah Sanders, Arizona Republic: Your well-researched article (5/1/17) on the 100,000 lost-and-found voter registrations did the math (43/74) for the 58,000 people who may have been denied a vote. That's critically important. The bigger controversy though, or at least equally important, is over fraudulent voting -- it's what the president raised such a fuss about. The article implies 42,000 people attempted to vote fraudulently. That math, simple addition and subtraction I believe should have been included, if not the headline. Did 42,000 people actually register to vote when they are forbidden to do so (assuming the projected math, the same used to estimate the 58K, holds)? If yes, how about a story on that? If projected out across the country, what sort of affect would that have? If similar numbers apply (and Arizona is a small state comparatively) 42K x 50 states is 2.1 million fraudulent applications to vote. Is that even remotely possible? Why hasn't Congress actually attempted to study this? That alone is a story worth a Pulitzer. No one wants to know the real answer -- but maybe you do? Korwin is an author/firearms law expert and constitiutional speaker.
Talk Show Host Clair Van Steenwyk: Primary Election against John McCain as the statements made by Bill Heuisler are incorrect. These facts are there and facts are what they are for all to see and don't want to mislead anyone, Dr. Kelli Ward even with all the Votes would have lost the election. Total Primary Votes in 2016
302,532 288,623 = 13,909 + For McCain
Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl: Regarding “AZGOP Executive Director Matthew Kenney to PCs: Early last Sunday morning, Mesa City Councilmember Ryan Winkle was arrested on suspicion of DUI.” Kenney gave some more background on the situation and said, “The Democrats are circling the wagons around Winkle and have launched an email campaign to try and make the city council think that the citizens of Mesa don't care about multiple offenses of drunk driving and that Winkle should be let off the hook.” Really, that’s none of Kenney’s business! That is up to the voters in Mesa, and/or Winkle opposition in the next election! The question comes to mind, what in the h**l does this have to do with the AZ GOP??
Alexander Meluskey’s Reply to Bill Heuisler’s Voter Fraud Post: Bill does nothing but spread misinformation so let’s set the record straight. Facts:
1) John McCain won outright! McCain had 51.7% of the vote and Ward 39.2%. A first grader capable of calculating simple math will conclude that McCain won by 12.5% not 5.5% as you so wrongly suggest.
2) I didn’t “drop out”, I suspended. There’s a difference. I promised to get out if I was not polling strongly in first or second place. I kept my word. I knew that once “out” there was the chance that the myriad of scandals and errors, which still surround your deeply flawed candidate, could surface and I wanted to give the voters a second look should such an event occur.
3) At that time I was polling at 13.12%, Ward at 21.92%, and McCain at 49.11% with 15.85% undecided. I paid Gravis (legitimate polling organization) for two polls run several days apart prior to suspending. Same numbers, different people, same result. I shared these results with the Ward campaign. Even with my numbers going up and Wards going down it was not going to be enough with McCain’s holding. Van Steenwyk always gets about 3%, and the remaining 12.85% undecided were trending toward me. That still only put me at 18-22%, Ward at about 24-28% and McCain still over 51%.
I can’t see why you are determined to drag my name into this campaign now. Are you trying to find a way to blame me when Ward fails again? You’re undermining her effort by spewing lies about someone who isn’t running. Try some remedial first grade math; add all the numbers up and you will see that McCain had over 50% of the votes. Here’s a great candidate information site. It can even show you how to compare past races, or how certain candidates based on numbers have no chance of winning. http://www.fec.gov/disclosurehs/hsnational.do The Ward campaign would be well advised to put you on a really short leash this time! LD23 PC Boe James: I read the note about the Recorder's Office by Gina Swoboda published in Saturday's Briefs 2017_05_20_Briefs archive and totally agree that we Republicans MUST be represented on the various Citizen Boards both before, during and after the elections. As I have often expressed at LD 23 meetings and to AzRA President Jim O'Connor, I believe that it is more important to have good solid Republicans working on the Citizen Board and as Poll Worker than it is to have them inside or outside as Poll Observers - although both are needed. The drawback is that it is a FULL Day job and not something you can do for a few hours only. Plan your schedules now and work the polls on election day, audit the results afterwards or devote a couple of weeks to being on a Citizen Board before election day. It is important for the integrity of the elections. Every District Chair and Precinct Captain should do it at least once, as Jim O'Connor has done. Gives a new view of elections.
