Republican Briefs

Arizona-GOP-Sends-Ominous-Email-Seeking-Voter-Info …It included no explanation of what a "voter profile status" is, who may have marked it incomplete or whether that has anything to do with a person's actual voter registration status (IMPORTANT: It doesn't).”

Former AZ PC Phil Mason: Come on people.  If you hate proxies, fill the 6,000 vacant PC slots and make a by-laws amendment.  Current law clearly states that the Party has the right to make the decision and conservatives should not be go to the government to determine how our private organization should function internally.  If you need any help on how to fill the slots, talk to Timothy Schwartz as he organized an effort that filled 100% of the slots in his legislative district.  (It was simple, get out and use the walking list to recruit). In the meantime every current conservative PC, even national mouthpieces, should just fill PC slots in their precinct with conservatives who will commit to attend at least one meeting a year.  Have we not learned that Government is NOT the solution, it is the problem.

Activist Sydney Hay : Norman McClelland's legacy in Arizona and our nation could fill volumes. I'll let the historians recount the myriad ways he made life better for so many. He made my life better, too. My heart hurts at the news of his death today. Tears are making this hard to write. In 1987, Norm McClelland and his VP Charlie Roberts took a stay-at-home mom to lunch and offered her a job in politics on a presidential campaign. My life was never the same. He blessed me in so many ways. I never would have run for Congress had he not helped me. We did huge projects together over decades -- Amending the state constitution twice. When Dan proposed to me, he had to ask my Dad and Norm. See you in Heaven, Norman McClelland

Judicial Watch to AG Mark Brnovich - Re: Request to Initiate Legal Action: We represent former Arizona State Senator and Senate President Russell Pearce. Senator Pearce is concerned about the illegal use of public monies by the Arizona Board of Regents ("ABOR"). Specifically, ABOR has been and continues to provide in-state tuition rates for certain unlawfully present aliens, namely the so-called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals ("DACA") recipients. Significant public monies are being used to provide lower in-state tuition rates to these DACA recipients.

As you know, your office recently won an important victory at the Arizona Court of Appeals in an action against Maricopa County Community College. State of Arizona v. MCCC Dist. Bd., No. I-CA-CV 15-0498 (Ct. App. Div. 1; issued June 20, 2017). In that case, your office argued, and the Court confirmed, that DACA recipients are not "lawfully present" aliens and thus not eligible for in-state tuition under Arizona law. As ABOR itself has conceded, its sole basis to disregard federal and state law and to begin offering in-states rates to DACA recipients was the anomalous ruling by the Superior Court in State of Arizona v. MCCC Dist. Bd. Now, however, even as that legal "fig leaf' has disappeared because of the unequivocal ruling of the Court of Appeals, ABOR persists in its unlawful use of public monies. On June 29, 2017, ABOR announced that it plans to continue offering in-state rates to DACA recipients despite the plain language of federal and state law, the ruling of the Court of Appeals, and your opinion as the chief law enforcement officer of Arizona.

In light of ABO R's continuing open defiance of the law and controlling legal precedent, Senator Pearce requests that you initiate legal action to enjoin the further use of public monies by ABOR in providing in-state tuition to DACA recipients. A.R.S. § 35-212. If you do not do so within 60 days, our client intends to initiate a legal action as an Arizona taxpayer under A.R.S. §35-213 to recover all of the unlawful expenditures by ABOR incurred thus far plus interest, enjoin further expenditures, and seek attorney fees and costs as provided under the law. - James F. Arizona Project Chairman Ron Ludders: Another week and all I hear is RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA!  Once again, more FAKE News.  Why would the Russian attorney who met with Trump Jr. be let into the US when her VISA was not valid?  Remember, this all took place when Obama was president.  Well, someone in the US State Department offered her a Parole Visa.  The State Department at that time was run by non-other than John "Learch" Kerry of liberal fame.  Uhhhhhmmm, collusion, perhaps. Also, this week, same day as the Trump Jr. media frenzy, the FBI released a document dump regarding Hillary Clinton, co-incidence? Hardly. Trump Jr. was a diversion, smoke screen, camouflage. Remember, We’re dealing with mislead people who’ve lost all grip on reality and seem dedicated to showing us they should continue to run the asylum.  They are the fake news media and they’re shocked that normal people didn’t like Hillary. And they blame the rest of us for voting for Trump.  (I plead guilty to that charge). It gets even funnier when they refuse to understand that Trump didn't win the election because of non-existent Russian meddling, but because Trump had the superior issues and  proposed solutions to our nation’s problems.  Trump held the superior moral high ground which resulted in his win. The radical left and sorry media do everything but try to understand the American people and how Trump's policies WILL make life better for real, honest-to-goodness AMERICA citizens. Because the media and fringe "loony left" politicians are angry at Trump they try emotionally to transfer that anger and hate to each of us.  It won't work, Americans are too smart for that.

McConnell’s Health Gambit Ripples In Kentucky Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is in a dicey spot in more ways than one when it comes to the Senate’s healthcare bill. If the Kentucky Republican fails in his effort to repeal and replace ObamaCare, his reputation as a master tactician of the Senate will take a hit, with lawmakers second-guessing his decisions on drawing up a bill largely behind closed doors. It would also deal a serious blow to the GOP effort to end ObamaCare and would mean Republicans have wasted the first seven months of the new Trump administration with little to show for it. Questions about the rest of their agenda would grow. Back in Kentucky, McConnell would also face some politically tricky questions.  Read the full story here
