James Alberts To the GIla County Chairman Gary Morris: If you take the time to read Mack / Pentz Vs U.S.A., then call Sheriff Richard Mack to educate your county sheriff, you will understand that the U.S Forest Service may close the roads , however, your sheriff has the authority to open them. I suggest you contact Sheriff Mack and have him come in as a guest speaker and educate your sheriff, asking McCain to help is useless .

LaPaz County Chairman Russell Sias: 17th Amendment...Bad, bad choice! In 1913, we added the 17th amendment to our constitution. It has been a mistake that has generated unforeseen and negative consequences for our country. Prior to the 17th, state legislatures controlled who got to represent each state as state senators in congress. Hence, a senator had to listen to their state legislatures, if they wanted to retain office. Once they became elected by the people they became no more than additional representatives of the people - who already had representation in congress. The states were left with no voice. Prior to the 17th amendment, the balance of power was distributed between the states getting to select senators, the people selecting House of Representative members, and the executive branch with its veto power. It was a balance of power. After the passage of the 17th amendment, the end result was that Congress now could simply ignore the states, for the states had no input whatsoever, unlike what the founding fathers originally intended. We would not have had No Child Left Behind with its federal mandates, or likely the federal 55 MPH national speed limit (remember that?) or the many other congressional actions that have passed their financial obligations onto states simply because states have no recourse, no way to have a voice in congress. Funding demands to states would cease. Even BLM might not exist! Congress has been allowed to fundamentally change our government because of the fact that the states cannot speak in congress. Repeal of the ill-thought-out 17th amendment would restore the balance of power to state legislators, through their Senators, thereby limiting the ability of congress to dictate or mandate that the states conform to federal laws with no choice in the matter.

Former AZGOP Chairman Tom Morrissey: On Sat, July 1, a group of Grassroots Patriots organized by Conservative activist Lolly Hathorn were out in force waving flags and giving a "Thumbs Up For Trump"  on the Beeline Highway in Payson AZ.  That road is one of the most traveled in the state on the 4th of July weekend. For the time we were out there thousands of people passed by, and by a huge percentage, were honking their horns smiling and throwing us “thumbs up” in return.  This was a celebration of our Country, our Liberty and our President and we were there to let the "Thumbs Downers" (and there were very few) know that we mean business and are standing in support of President Donald J Trump

Kudos To The Two Kind-Hearted Flagstaff Hotshots who found two deer fawns and carried them to safety as they battled the Goodwin Fire Friday evening. - ft

And A Tip Of The Hat To The Yavapai County deputies who arrested the man reportedly flying-a drone-over-the goodwin-fire and causing the grounding of aerial support for fire fighters on the ground. - ft

ADOT is urging drivers not to drive and drink, to wear your seat belt and to obey speed limits during Fourth of July holiday. In 2016, alcohol played a part in eight of the 14 crashes that killed 16 people during the holiday weekend. Three high-traffic zones: Interstate 17 between north Phoenix and Flagstaff, Interstate 10 between Phoenix and Tucson, and State Route 87 between Mesa and Payson. Along those routes, ADOT crews will strategically stage equipment, such as loaders and utility trucks, to minimize travel delays with faster response times to crashes and stalled vehicles. No closures are scheduled during the holiday weekend, but travelers should be aware that existing work-zone restrictions with lane reductions will remain in place. This includes a 30-mile stretch of I-40 east of Kingman and I-40 near Twin Arrows. Because unexpected delays can occur due to crashes and stalled vehicles, drivers are encouraged to:

    · Pack extra drinking water and snacks.

    · Avoid the busiest travel times, if possible.

    · Get plenty of rest before driving.

    · Check vehicles, including tire pressure, belts and fluid levels.

Travelers can minimize the risk of fires along Arizona roads by not parking or driving in dry, tall grass; making sure trailer chains are secured and not dragging and emitting sparks; and never throwing cigarettes out the window.
