REPUBLICAN BRIEFS

12-Resign-From Mohave-County-Republican-Central-CommitteeThe 12 precinct committeemen who resigned from the Mohave County Republican Central Committee on Monday felt they had no other choice. Although they plan to remain an active voice in the Republican Party, they stand united in their anger that the local conservative party is becoming diluted with non-Republican members. Former State Senator Sue Donahue, was among the committeemen who resigned. “For me, the Republican Central Committee for Mohave County has not acted in the best interest of Republicans,” Donahue said. “They are allowing libertarians in. We’ve been trying to get the bylaws rewritten, which are so out of date, but there is a core group in the central committee who are PCs that don’t want to get this done. I don’t understand why.” …

Kelli Ward Draws Huge, Enthusiastic Crowd For Senate Kickoff Vulnerable incumbent Jeff Flake plunges in polls, as he continues to bash Pres. Trump Dr. Kelli Ward’s senate race supporters who arrived at the Hilton Scottsdale Resort Tuesday evening quickly realized that it would be a packed house as they searched for parking spots. The frustration dissipated as soon as the attendees walked through the doors to a crowded, chair-less, cavernous room full of like-minded conservatives. It was a politically rare “Wow!” moment…

Campaign-Aides-For-Jeff-Flakes-Primary-Challenger-Apologize-Profusely-For-Supporting-Her … Two prominent staffers on Arizona Republican Kelli Ward’s primary campaign against sitting Sen. Jeff Flake have officially issued an apology to everyone in the state for helping to legitimize Ward as a serious political candidate. The two staffers, Dustin Stockton and Jen Lawrence, resigned from the Ward campaign in recent weeks. Stockton was Ward’s chief strategist. Lawrence was the candidate’s press secretary. Stockton and Lawrence say they were responsible for managing Ward’s current U.S. Senate campaign from May 2017 until September 2017. They identify themselves as prominent grassroots activists…

we want dewitIn The Meantime, Trump Team COO/AZ State Treasurer Jeff DeWit supporters are circulating this post card throughout the state for voters to send to President Trump. The message side of the 6x9 inch post card reads: Dear President Trump, We need your help for our state and country! Jeff DeWit is the only true conservative that can defeat Jeff Flake! The primary race is already too crowded and in Arizona there is no runoff, so the incumbent can take advantage of a crowded race. If you appointed Kelli Ward to live in DC & bury her deep in the bureaucracy, conservatives across Arizona will mobilize to help DeWit become our next senator with your assistance. Please help us help your issues with a great Senator DeWit on board. Sincerely (signature of sender).

Post card circulators say that if Trump asks DeWit to run and offers financial support that DeWit would become the winning senate candidate in the 2018 general election. It is no secret that DeWit met with senate candidate Dr Kelli Ward several months ago and Ward refused to pull out of the race against incumbent Jeff Flake. DeWit backers say he won’t enter the race as long as Ward remains a candidate. However, some think if the Trump team offered Ward a Washington, DC position, she would pull out of the race - assuring DeWit of the Arizona win. Politicos say if both DeWit and Ward run, it will split the Republican vote which would give the nod to Flake in the GOP primary election. Considering Flake’s declining poll results, Dems think candidate Kyrsten Sineman can knock off Flake in the November general election. Copies of the “We Want DeWit” post card can be sent to: The White House, Attn: President Donald J Trump, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., NW., Washington DC, 20500. - ft

Sen-John-McCain, Ya-Gotta-Quit GOP lawmaker unleashes outbursts at reporter … But the conflict has hit new heights, with McCain threatening subpoenas for the White House, and a prominent columnist calling on McCain to just … quit.

AZ Republic Editorial Previews McCain Obit  No, we are not being insensitive to the fact that John McCain has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer by his Mayo Scottsdale doctors.  Such a sentence is dreadful. In many cases, receiving a dire diagnosis provides patients time to reflect and even make amends. Not so with AZ Sen. John McCain.  Or his apologists…

AFP ad on McCainAmericans for Prosperity- Arizona released a ad yesterday encouraging Sen. John McCain to support President Trump’s tax reform plan. AFPA State Director Andrew Clark writes, “In our increasingly divided country, there are few things that all sides can agree on. But everyone agrees we need tax reform that helps ordinary Arizonans. That’s because this isn’t about politics—it’s about doing what’s best for Americans. Our tax code is a complicated, unfair, expensive mess. The tax reform plan would let families and small businesses keep more of their hard-earned money, create more jobs and higher wages, and level the playing field.  Sen. McCain needs to know Arizonans want tax reform. Click here to send him an email urging him to support the tax reform plan. Don’t let the other side be the only voices he hears from.”

Jeff DeWit, State Treasurer 2017State Treasurer Jeff DeWit, the former COO of the Trump Campaign, and US Rep Andy Biggs will chair the March 23 and 24, 2018 Western Conservative Conference  in Phoenix. Arizona National Republican Committeewoman Lori Klein-Corbin, a former Arizona State Senator, is coordinating the upcoming event. President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and other conservative leaders will be invited to participate. Panels on immigration, media bias, ObamaCare, tax reform, book signings and the assault on law enforcement are among the programs being planned. The Ronald Reagan Freedom Award will be presented to a dinner guest. See www.westernconservative.org for details. The SaddleBrooke Republican Club recommends that Pinal County voters reject Propositions 416 AND 417 aka Pinal Regional Transportation Plan, according to club president Neil Macdonald clanranald5@gmail.com Ballots must be returned by US Mail to the Pinal County Recorder by Nov 7. In an e-mail to voters, Macdonald wrote:

YOUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS has reviewed the Transportation plans. If a successful vote of the Transportation Excise Tax Plan occurs, then it expects to provide a projected $640,000,000 [yes, that’s MILLION] in transportation funding, over the next 20 years within Pinal County. In reviewing the proposed plan that there appear to be significant differences between the language in the documented Resolutions of the Plan as adopted by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors on June 21, 2017 and the language in the Special Pamphlet and Sample Ballot you just received in the mail.
THE PROPOSED TAX HIKE IS ILLEGAL:  Pinal county officials knew about the legal problems and factual inaccuracies with Prop 417 yet they forced it on the ballot.  They have been notified by a non-profit watchdog organization that it was not properly drafted and will probably face litigation in court. Pinal taxpayers will end up paying the legal bills for this poorly crafted plan.
CURRENT TRANSPORTATION TAX IS WASTED AND ABUSED: Pinal taxpayers have been paying a ½ cent sales tax for 30 years allegedly for transportation projects.  In fact the money has been used for Christmas bonuses, employee appreciation breakfasts and unknown credit card expenses.  Despite multiple infractions, many of the worst offenders would be awarded with additional money if these propositions are approved.
YOUR CLUB, TO BE FAIR, at your October member meeting authorized three local politicians to speak in favor of these propositions.  They exceeded the time they were allotted to speak and when asked to end their presentation they would not leave the stage.  Your Club disagrees with their comments and defense of these propositions.

SAVE YOUR TAX MONEY!  Vote NO ON THESE PROPOSITIONS!  Then we hope that any new proposals will be drafted without the flaws and any tax collected will be used for the intended purpose.”
