The Arizona Citizens Defense League (AzCDL) acquired its 14,000 member at a first ever gun show in Quartzsite at the end of January. AzCDL was formed in 2005 when seven activists decided to do something about the loss of the right to keep and bear arms in Arizona.  Their first meeting was in March.  By June AzCDL was officially formed.  Four of the original founders became AzCDL's first directors.  That same year they experienced their first success at the legislature.  Five years later, in 2010, among many other accomplishments, they made history achieving Constitutional Carry in Arizona.  The right to carry openly or discreetly without begging permission from government bureaucrats was restored. Because of their success, Arizona has become the "brass ring" for gun grabbers.  Not only do they have Constitutional Carry, but Guns and Ammo magazine has declared Arizona as the number one state for gun owners for three consecutive years.  They are now the main target of Bloomberg's campaign to achieve universal gun owner registration. The RNC has been instrumental in two straight historic election cycles for Republicans and I’m delighted we have been able to assemble a team that puts the committee in a strong position to continue this success while also working to amplify President Trump’s message. I’m also pleased to welcome Jeff Larson back to the RNC and I’m confident his wealth of experience and institutional knowledge will help us build on our successes.”

Activist Itasca Small- “Good Behaviour!”: The Constitution does not give the federal Judiciary authority to override an Executive Action. The Executive Branch needs to stop submitting to judicial tyranny. It is time to tighten constitutional chains. The Constitution gives us the means to “term limit” the federal Judiciary: Invoke the “Good Behaviour” clause to rein-in those who usurp power to advance their own subversive tyrannical agenda. Judicial activism violates the Constitutiion and standards of Good Behaviour. It is, by logic and reason, impeachable. There is nothing to the contrary in the Constitution; therefore, We the People being sovereign, the right is inherent in US to demand removal of the offenders. Thomas Jefferson on the federal Judiciary’s power usurpation: “Nothing in the Constitution has given them [the federal judges] a right to decide for the Executive, more than to the Executive to decide for them. . . .” (Letter to Abigail Adams regarding Marbury v. Madison, September 11, 1804) “The great object of my fear is the Federal Judiciary. That body, . . . is engulfing insidiously the special governments into the jaws of that which feeds them.” (Letter to Judge Spencer Roane,1821)

“The original error [was in] establishing a judiciary independent of the nation, and which, from the citadel of the law, can turn its guns on those they were meant to defend, and control and fashion their proceedings to its own will.” (Letter to John Wayles Eppes, 1807) “You seem . . . to consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions; a very dangerous doctrine indeed, and one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy. . . . The Constitution has erected no such single tribunal, knowing that to whatever hands confided, with corruptions of time and party, its members would becomedespots.” (Letter to William Jarvis, Sept. 28, 1820) JeffersonOnJudicialTyranny

Congressmen Andy Biggs (AZ-05) and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-08) have introduced the Right to Try Act of 2017, which would allow terminally-ill patients an option to receive drugs that have passed the Food and Drug Administration’s basic safety testing, but are still working their way through the often lengthy bureaucratic process to final approval. The bill is a companion to Senate legislation introduced by Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) last month. Biggs said, “In November 2014, Arizonans passed a state version of Right to Try with nearly 80 percent of the vote, which demonstrates that giving patients access to a potentially life-saving drugs has strong bipartisan support. Right to Try now needs to be enacted at the federal level. Americans facing a terminal illness should be allowed to try all options that could save their lives, and our bill will give power to those patients. I am grateful for Congressman Fitzpatrick’s partnership on this vital issue, and I look forward to working with him to pass this legislation in the House.”

Congressman Paul Gosar: First Obama Regulation Repeal Going To President's Desk - After eight years of issuing onerous, costly and questionably constitutional rules, the other shoe is about to drop on the Obama Administration’s legacy of gross executive overreach. I am proud to work with my colleagues in the Western Caucus and other members across the nation to present a united front against the arrogance of top-down mandates burdening each and every district in the United States. Our work is cut out for us, but I am confident that Congress will work swiftly and determinedly with President Trump and his Administration to roll back burdensome regulations and red tape inherited from the previous administration. This week, I led members of the Western Caucus in introducing 10 bills to overturn several last minute regulations from the Obama Administration utilizing the Congressional Review Act (CRA). The CRA utilizes an expedited legislative process that requires a simple majority in both the House and Senate as well as a signature by the President in order to nullify an entire regulation. Sen John McCain (R-AZ) sent a letter to the nominee to be Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Undersecretary David Shulkin, asking for his position on the future of the Veterans Choice Program. In the letter, McCain asks Shulkin whether he would work with Congress to extend the Veterans Choice Program, which is set to expire in August, as Congress and the VA continue deliberating about how best to improve community health care for our nation’s veterans. McCain also asks Shulkin whether he believes the Veterans Choice Program should be a permanent program available to all veterans.
