Arizona Town Crier Jim Ely: For years the ATC has railed about the autocracy of the AZ GOP leadership and the unwillingness of the state committeemen to do anything about it. Generally speaking, leaders have earned their leadership position. In a volunteer organization, leaders are voted into those positions by the members, therefore, one must assume that the leadership should be accountable to those who voted for him. It seems not so in AZ GOP!
“Duties of Elective Officers 1. Chairman - The state chairman shall be the recognized leader of the state party and, in cooperation with the county chairmen, shall coordinate statewide party activities.” Has ANYONE ever seen this formally done? He may have phoned someone and then did his own thing!
“The state chairman shall chair the executive committee. The executive committee shall approve the annual budget and review and counsel the state chairman on all programs relating to the state party.” Ever seen this formally done??
“The executive committee of the state committee's shall consist of the elected officers of the state committee, the national committeeman and committeewoman, the chairman and first and second vice chairman from each county, three members at large from each congressional district, and the president/chairman of each nationally recognized Republican auxiliary organization with at least 2,000 dues-paying members in the state. The state chairman shall chair the executive committee” With the committee consisting of so many who don’t have a thing to do with running the party and the state chair calling the shots, just how effective does one expect the executive committee to be???
Consider a AZ GOP Executive Committee made up of the 15 County Chairmen who hold the state chairman responsible for his/her duties and action, meet monthly during election years and quarterly during off election years, what would be the chances of seeing again what has happened? Remember, people deserve the government that they elect!

We need to show our support. The “Grab your Pocket Campaign” is succeeding in removing Ivanka’s clothing line from major department stores. The Left is relentless and we must be as well,” Lieberman said. She can be reached at email@example.com
