"We don't appoint judges to our district courts to conduct foreign policy or to make decisions about the national security. Under statutory law and under the Constitution, that authority belongs to the president of the United States."  - US Vice President Mike Pence

Tucson Republicans are holding A “Stand with Trump Rally”  at 4:30 pm., Wed., Feb 15 in front of Sen Jeff Flake’s Tucson Office, 6840 N. Oracle, #150 to let Flake know his constituents stand with President Donald Trump. Particpants are asked to bring signs, posters and American flags.

Former AZGOP Chairman Tom Morrissey: This is what we are up against from the Left these days.  Maybe it's time we take to the streets too.  We have the numbers and the only difference between us and them is that we have to work for a living and they are supported by people like George Soros and by the welfare system.    Maybe we should be calling for meetups of "The Resistance to the Resistors"  or "You Can't Fix Stupid, But We Try Anyway".

Getting-A-Busy-Signal-When-You-Call-Congress? Here's-How-To-Get-Through Amid a surge in Americans calling their senators and representatives – and often getting busy signals or full voicemail boxes – a new report sheds light on how best to target your advocacy.

LD18 Republican PC Larry Hilliard: I am so fed up with political fund raising emails. I really have to question their truthfulness, especially the emails I receive from the Dems. (Not sure why they are emailing me!) I've gotten the following email twice from the "I’m disappointed -- and I really need your help.Grassroots Democrats have been fighting their hearts out since President Trump took office. And I was sure that with your help, we’d outraise the Republicans and hand them their first loss of the year. But I just got word that they raked in $2,OOO,OOO more than us last month. That’s a HUGE victory for them -- and dangerous for our chances to fight back. That’s why I’m asking for your help.We still need 25 gifts from 85048 before the Mid-Month Deadline hits in 48 hours."  First off, how do they know that they were out raised by $2 million? What does this number actually represent? Total Republican fund raising? RNC? RNCC? RNSC? State Committees? So misleading!

LD11 Sen Steve Smith: As the father of five young children, a businessman, and conservative Republican, I work with my colleagues at the legislature to strategically invest tax-dollars knowing how hard Arizonans work to earn their money. That’s why I support Governor Ducey’s effort to invest in early-childhood literacy by providing more Arizona families with the option of high quality full-day kindergarten.
As Chairman of the Arizona Senate Commerce and Public Safety Committee, I’m consistently hearing industry leaders from across the state emphasize the importance of creating policies focused on developing tomorrow’s trained, skilled, and ready-workforce today.
Maricopa County Bill Montgomery recently said, “Setting children on a path to educational success can minimize temptations of delinquency, substance abuse, and falling prey to other influences that can lead to criminal activity. Helping our children to develop the tools for success and to understand their place as a citizen in our Republic will make for a stronger Arizona and America.” Governor Ducey’s strategy of identifying what works, putting money directly into the classroom, and focusing on English language literacy are sound conservative principles that guarantee quality and accountability from our schools and will pay dividends for Arizona’s public safety and economic futures for years to come.

Yesterday Morning, The Arizona Department Of Health Services began to receive an unusually large volume of calls indicating a telephone scam was in play. The agency’s phone provider has confirmed the department is the victim of a telephone scam. The department reports people from nearly 40 states have called in to explain their caller ID shows the department’s telephone number with a person on the other end of the line asking for their personal information. The caller identifies themselves to be with an insurance company and asks for personal information on the individual’s health insurance.  ADHS does not contact residents to ask for personal information. Should you receive a call from someone who claims to be with ADHS you are encouraged to hang up immediately without giving any personal information to the caller. If you think you have been a victim of a scam, contact AZ Attorney General Brnovich’s office at 602-542-5763 or

Congresswoman Martha McSally will lead a hearing titled: “A Dangerous and Sophisticated Adversary: The Threat to the Homeland Posed by Cartel Operations” at 10 am EST, Thurs., Feb 16. This is the first hearing McSally, who is the Chairwoman of the Border and Maritime Security Subcommittee, will lead in the 115th Congress. “The cartels sending drugs across our border are nimble, innovative, and dangerous,” said McSally. “Their members put extensive energy and focus into finding ways to go over, under, around, and through our border defenses. This hearing will examine the threat posed by cartel operations to DHS’ border security efforts and the security of the Homeland.” To be live-streamed HERE. Last year, McSally led a hearing that revealed Border Patrol only has 56% situational awareness of the border. Across the border, Mexican drug cartels conduct extensive counter-surveillance against U.S. agents and use innovative techniques to successfully smuggle illicit loads across the border.

Congressman Trent Franks: Recent reports confirm North Korea tested a ballistic missile this weekend, likely a provocation to taunt the new Administration. Missile Defense Caucus Co-Chair Rep. Franks issued the following statement responding to North Korea’s dangerous missile and nuclear proliferation: "The same bevy of left wing lunatics who negotiated the North Korea nuclear deal for President Clinton also negotiated the Iran Deal under President Obama. How has that worked out for America and our allies so far? The urgency of expanding our missile defense architecture has never been clearer. “Whether they are in Tehran or Pyongyang, bullies and psychopaths must never be ceded military advantage. I sincerely hope the Trump Administration accelerates the development and deployment of 100 ground-based interceptors and next generation missile defense capabilities such as directed energy and upgraded kill vehicles. It’s time for our enemies to understand that America is once again committed to ‘peace through strength.’”

Congressman Andy Biggs: Last week, the Arizona House of Representatives passed House Concurrent Memorial (HCM) 2001, Urging the United States Congress to Divide the Ninth Circuit Into Two Separate Circuits. The memorial, which passed 35-23 and is sponsored by Representative Eddie Farnsworth, expresses support for Congress to pass H.R. 250, a bill introduced by Congressman Andy Biggs. H.R. 250 would establish a new, Twelfth Circuit Court of Appeals in order to divide the existing Ninth Circuit among the two. The Ninth Circuit encompasses approximately 20% of the country’s population, leading to an overburdened and delayed justice system. Congressman Biggs issued the following statement: “I am very grateful for the Arizona House passing HCM 2001 and expressing strong support for my bill to split the Ninth Circuit Court into two circuits. Arizona’s values and laws have long been under assault from an appeals court that is overburdened, overturned far too often, and devoid of justice for many of its petitioners. I am happy to see that Arizonans are leading the push for a new, Twelfth Circuit Court – both at the state and federal level. I thank Speaker Mesnard and Representative Farnsworth for their leadership on this memorial, and I promise to continue to fight for passage of H.R. 250.”

Congresswoman Martha McSally: Thank you to everyone who participated in last week’s telephone town hall. We had over 3,400 Southern Arizonans join us for the conversation, which covered a range of topics including health care reform, border security, and K-12 education.

For those of you unable to join, I will hold another telephone town hall Tuesday, February 14 at 5:30 p.m. Arizona Time. The event runs for about an hour, and you can call in at any time. Dial in: 877-229-8493 Pin: 114341

Congresswoman Martha McSally: For many, the border is a distant concept. For Southern Arizonans, our border policy affects us every day.Last week, I questioned Homeland Security Secretary General John Kelly on four key aspects of our border policy - measuring border security, our flawed defense in depth strategy, fixed checkpoints, and the amount of Border Patrol agents actually at the border. Hear his responses McSally questions Sec Kelly on Border Security

Sen John McCain: “The courageous Russian dissident Vladimir Kara-Murza would like to see the governments of Russia and the United States become moral equals — to know that both protect their peoples’ rights to liberty and equal justice, and that both are comparable forces for good in the world. He has dedicated his life to that end. He now fights for his life in a Moscow hospital bed, poisoned by an as yet unknown substance likely on the order of a Russian regime that believes morality is weakness and an impediment to national greatness. The autocrat at the head of that regime, Vladimir Putin, operates like the boss of an organized crime syndicate that robs and oppresses the Russian people, and causes immense harm and suffering in the world… Putin wants a return to a world of competing great powers, where tactical alliances and rivalries are formed to serve the narrowest national interests and shun the values Americans believe are universal... Its return would be a catastrophe for the United States and the world.” See full story John McCain: Russia dissidents are our moral equals
