clip_image002 Sign reads, “Give us FREE health care, jobs, no taxes, house, food, you owe us America! We will shoot more police in Arizona until we get FREE!” (Photographer unknown).

Dr Robert Lee: I am in awe... We work our butts off paying city, county and state taxes for these people. Now they want to shoot our police that we pay to protect us from them. The drug gangs are out of control - the Sheriff & Mayor want a sanctuary Phoenix city. Bodies are piling up at Laveen & Gila without heads - what's going on in their (Sheriff & Mayor) minds?

Congressman Trent Franks April 20 Town Hall has been cancelled. Another date tba, according to his assistant Shari Farrington.

Congresswoman Martha McSally is conducting a 90 minute town-hall-meeting-in Sahuarita sponsored by the Green Valley News and Sahuarita Sun, at 4 pm., Thurs., Feb 23 at The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 17750 S. La Cañada Dr. The venue holds about 300 people; doors open at 3 p.m. No signs will be allowed in the building. Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable donations to the Sahuarita Food Bank that is housed within the church. Email questions for McSally to Green Valley News editor Dan Shearer at: Shearer will serve as the town hall moderator.

Barbara Espinosa on Facebook: John McCain has been in power in Arizona for over 30 years. During that period drugs and illegal aliens flooded his state. The deserts became covered in trash. Phoenix became the "Kidnap Capital of America" with over 300 kidnapping a year. During that time McCain was pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens. Now he says we must secure the border first, but still doesn't provide any solutions to the illegal aliens already here. He avoids the issue. It's time for McCain to go.”  McCain is still for amnesty for illegal aliens don't be fooled Espinosa is the American Freedom by Barbara blogger.

A Puzzled Voter is wondering why she has gotten a AZGOP donations request via snail mail that was signed by former AZGOP Chairman Robert Graham?? Graham was replaced by newly elected Chair Jonathan Lines on Jan 28.

And Speaking Of Donations Requests. Voters are tired of receiving those constant begging letters that are appearing on their computers from Establishment candidates who are already campaigning to get re-elected – particularly when the populous seems to want to “drain the swamp.” What’s with these elected officials who get a taste of DC and expect to make a life-time career???– ft

Readers Are Wondering when/if newly AZGOP Secretary Gabby Saucer-Mercer and Treasurer Bob Leitteri have accessed the secretary and treasury records from the AZGOP. They were elected Jan 28 and AZGOP had 10 days to turn over the books – which would have been Feb 8. As of last Friday the new officers were still empty handed. – ft

Jose Borrajero: 170221-0600 - AZRRT Alert – Balanced Budget Amendment HB2226, dealing with a constitutional convention to enact a balanced budget amendment, seems to be generating a lot of controversy. We at the AZRRT are not taking a position on it, but are doing everything we can to ensure that folks use facts, not rhetoric, to decide whether to support or oppose it. The list of supporters, sponsors, and proponents reads like a Who is Who in the Republican Leadership. It passed a third reading vote in the AZ House of Representatives with an overwhelming 33 Republicans voting in favor and only 2 voting against. On the other hand, RTS votes by rank and file citizens was over 5 to 1 against HB2226. Now this bill is in the Senate and we expect to see activity within the next few days. For those folks that have the stomach for it, we suggest that they read the whole bill. HB2226H Those less brave, or less determined, should at least read the portion of HB2226 that describes the Balanced Budget Amendment. For their convenience, we have included the text of the amendment at the end of this communication. When reading this, or any other such material, one must pay particular attention to red flag words or phrases, such as “unless”, “if”, “only if”, “except”, “may”, “may not”, “shall”, “shall not”, “excluding”, “provided that”, among others. After reading the whole bill, or at least the amendment, everyone should contact all members of the AZ Senate and express their opinion. The best way to do that is to go to our website at Additionally, when HB2226 is scheduled for standing committee hearings, everyone should also render his/her opinion via the RTS system. That can easily be done by going to: Contact:

Click HERE to view the current membership.  With over 60 Members of Congress representing more than 25 states, the Western Caucus is leading the charge on a barrage of Congressional Review Act bills aimed at repealing the most notorious and onerous of the Obama Administration’s rules and regulations. The Caucus anticipates being very active on legislation this Congress.

Congresswoman Martha McSally recently was appointed the Vice Chair of the Readiness Subcommittee on the House Armed Services Committee. The subcommittee is responsible for the single largest account within the Department of Defense’s budget and oversees such issues as military readiness, training, logistics and maintenance, and military construction. “I’m honored to be appointed to a leadership role on the House subcommittee that provides oversight of our military readiness,” said McSally. “The atrophying of our military over recent years has created a readiness crisis – putting our troops and national security at risk. I stand ready to use the experience I gained through 26 years in the military to help restore our readiness and ensure our troops have what they need to complete their mission.” In addition to her Vice Chair role on the Readiness Subcommittee, Rep. McSally serves on the Tactical Air and Land Forces Subcommittee and Military Personnel Subcommittee on the House Armed Services Committee. She served 26 years in the U.S. Air Force, including six assignments to the Middle East and Afghanistan, and oversaw counterterrorism missions for the continent of Africa. Last week, McSally questioned top Pentagon officials about the readiness of the F-35 and its role in carrying out Close Air Support missions.

Congresswoman Martha McSally: Last Friday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced it would restore some records detailing the results of animal welfare inspections after the website containing the records abruptly went dark on February 3. The re-posting of some records follows a bipartisan letter sent last week by U.S. Rep Martha McSally and cosigned by 100 members of Congress calling on the Administration to restore access to the documents online. In a statement released Friday, McSally said, “I will continue to work with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle to see all records re-posted online where they can be available again to the public.”

LD5 Rep Gina Cobb: Last week in the Arizona Capitol Times I read a great article written by four Arizona national board certified teachers praising Governor Ducey and his proposal to expand Full Day Kindergarten for Arizona’s neediest students. We authored the-value-of-the-governors-proposal-to-expand-full-day-kindergarten in support of Governor Ducey’s efforts: While the Arizona Teacher’s Union continues to bombard us with negative messages, urging us to throw out the Governor’s education roadmap in favor of simply funding their union memberships raises, it was nice to hear from actual teachers, out in field, sharing how Governor Ducey’s strategy of investing in early childhood literacy will have the greatest impact on making a difference in the lives of students. As a grandmother of two granddaughters who now live in Utah, I’ve seen first-hand how Utah’s commitment to early childhood literacy has positively impacted academic performance and achievement. We are continually asking for higher outcomes. Yet, how can we expect higher outcomes and stronger literacy throughout education unless we start with a strong foundation?  We need to start from the ground up.  A well-built home will collapse if it is built on quicksand. I would like to see our legislature support Governor Ducey’s proposal to expand full day kindergarten for Arizona’s neediest students as a first-step in making Full Day Kindergarten a grade and available as an option for every family in our state. – Mother, Grandmother, Dentist, Arizona State Representative (Legislative District 5)
