St Patrick’s Day
St Patrick’s Day brings fond memories of investigator George Weisz, who worked for former Arizona Attorney General Bob Corbin. Every St Paddy’s Day George came to work laden with green bagels, and passed them out saying, “Everyone’s a little bit Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.”

Former Maricopa County Republicans Chairman Lyle Tuttle: (1) The 3-15-17 AZGOP Update by Mr. Lines - “At last Saturday's Executive Committee meeting I presented a mission statement for the State Party as well as my priorities.” Wouldn’t it be interesting to know the rest of his Priorities? Wouldn't it be great to even know HIS Mission Statement, as well as the rest of his 'other priorities"?? (2) Has Mr. Lines ever explained to anyone why as Treasurer he didn’t know about the financial antics of Mr. Graham, or why there is so much secrecy in turning over records to the new Secretary and Treasurer? I have been asking myself that question as well..... has Lines been a "mushroom" all along! (You know what a mushroom is, don't you? A person you keep in the dark and feed them BullS**t!)

PC Zack Taylor: So what is the root problem here and in failing state systems? Is it New York Politics in this case or is it Affirmative Action per se applied to New York City's and other schools? Does Arizona have a similar impediment? After all, it is student outcomes that should matter, or is it that academic excellence is subordinate to political correctness? Congressman Andy Biggs after the completion of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet held a hearing to examine ideas for restructuring the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. “Today’s hearing highlighted many of the reasons why the Ninth Circuit needs to be divided into two smaller circuits. To start, it is simply too large. Twenty percent of the U.S. population resides within this Circuit, twice as many as any other Circuit. This delays access to justice for many Americans and creates a situation wherein citizens of the Ninth Circuit are treated differently than if they lived in any other Circuit. It is time we consider true reforms, and I believe my bill, the Judicial Administration and Improvement Act, is a good place to start. I am grateful to Chairman Goodlatte and Chairman Issa for their attention to this critical issue.”
Congresswoman Martha McSally introduced legislation to help address the National Park Service’s growing billion-dollar maintenance backlog. The legislation, the National Park Service Transparency and Accountability Act, directs the National Park Service to re-evaluate its current strategy of prioritizing maintenance projects and to submit its findings to Congress. From FY2009 to FY2015 the National Park Service’s backlog increased from $10.2 billion to $11.9 billion, and Arizona has one of the largest backlogs in the nation. There is a $580.2 million in delayed or deferred restoration projects throughout the Grand Canyon State. In McSally’s district specifically, maintenance projects requiring attention at Saguaro National Park amount to approximately $12.9 million, while Chiricahua National Monument in Cochise County faces roughly $10.3 million in needed restoration projects. See McSally’s continued efforts since taking office to address this backlog. Her legislative text, CLICK HERE.
Senator John McCain Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, on the White House’s proposed fiscal year 2018 defense topline budget: “The fiscal year 2018 defense topline proposed today of $603 billion will not be sufficient to rebuild the military. Such a budget does not represent a 10 percent increase as previously described by the White House, but amounts to a mere 3 percent over President Obama's defense plan, which has left our military underfunded, undersized and unready to meet the threats of today and tomorrow. Informed by testimony by our military commanders and years of rigorous oversight of the Department of Defense and our Armed Forces, House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mac Thornberry and I agree a defense budget of $640 billion in fiscal year 2018 and sustained increases for years to come are needed to rebuild our military, restore military readiness, and modernize our forces for the realities of 21st century warfare.
