5-13-17 Briefs

Congresswoman Martha McSally will participate in Angel Thunder at Davis Monthan Air Force Base today to commemorate its return. Angel Thunder, the world’s largest Personnel Recovery exercise, was cancelled in 2016. McSally worked to restore the exercise at Davis-Monthan, which brings many different countries, all military services, several different U.S. agencies, and dozens of multi-national partners to Tucson each year. Angel Thunder is the Air Force’s only personnel recovery exercise, and it is critical to honing the military’s ability to rescue troops, civilians, and other personnel trapped behind enemy lines or during a natural disaster. McSally will be participating in a recovery scenario, playing the role of a pilot of a 2 seat aircraft that gets shot down and has a back injury.

The Mobilization of Conservatives (MOC) will have a booth at” Salute to Heroes” between 10 am -3 pm., Sat., May 13 at the Prescott Valley Event Center at 3201 Main Street in Prescott Valley .  MOC is a grassroots movement fighting to keep Arizona red. See The annual Salute to Heroes event is non-profit fundraising opportunity for the communities in the tri-city area to give back to local veteran and first responder organizations. All proceeds benefit local non-profits including the Prescott Valley Police Foundation, Central Yavapai Fire & Medical Authority, VFW Post #10227 and American Legion Post #140 U.S. Veteran organizations. prescottvalleyeventcenter MOC contact: Myrna Lieberman

There will be booths from various conservation and sporting groups. Green Valley Lake will receive more than double its usual stocking of trout in preparation for this event. No fishing license is required for festival attendees, and equipment and bait can be borrowed from the free fishing booth. The Payson Wildlife Festival is a cooperative event between the Arizona Game and Fish Department, Mogollon Sporting Association, US Forest Service and Payson Parks & Recreation Department.

National Association of Former Patrol Officers Chairman Zack Taylor: This Absolutely Terrific Interview of the Suffolk County New York Sheriff needs to be seen by every American. Crime ICE-arrests-1378-suspected-gang-members-in-largest-sweep-to-date We in NAFBPO have lived the nightmare because we saw it coming, this Sheriff and his people in New York have lived it in real time. The Sheriff hits on every single point we made about the surge of minors, gangs and transnational crime. And, oh yes, 90% of the heroin coming from Mexico.  (Not Walgreens) In other words our admonitions about Immigration Insecurity in this case materialized before his eyes in New York State. Sanctuary Cities + Illegal Aliens = Transnational .

Arizona Game and Fish Department Director Larry D. Voyles has announced that he will retire from the state’s wildlife agency this summer. Voyles, who joined the Department as a wildlife manager in the Yuma region in 1974 and rose to the Directorship in 2008, will remain as Director until his replacement is named by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. Voyles was elected President of the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) in 2014, and has served on a variety of national boards.

LD20 PC/State Committeeman Marianne Ferrari: I stand with PC John Powelson against Interstate 11. No other single initiative is more important to stop than this one. 5-12-17-briefs This is an existential threat to our country. Think that’s a crazy idea? Imagine an EMP being exploded over our nation, shutting down all electricity and all vehicles. Then, imagine the release of 500,000 or a million Chinese troops from ships on the west coast of Mexico. The Chinese have been building deepwater ports along the west coast of Mexico. They have also been building ultra-huge ships that hold several hundred thousand troops, each. If troops were dropped at a Mexican port, which was connected by I-11’s road-and-rail superhighway, those troops would be all over the western US in 15 hours, or so (maybe less!) with our military unhorsed and arrested in place, unable to defend us. It would be the end. I-11 is part of the globalist plan to create the “North American Community,” which completely erases all borders between the US and both Mexico, Canada. That would totally mix the entire populations of the 3 countries. There would no longer be an identifiable American / U.S. culture. It would be impossible to retain it. That is the plan. A key part of the plan is to make transportation from Canada through the U.S. to Mexico very fast and easy--another way to guarantee that the mixing of the populations could never be prevented. If you find the idea of a regional new-world-order entity replacing the sovereign U.S. nation, then read “Building a North American Community.” (Our version of the wonderful E.U., only worse.) building-north-american-community

AZ Citizens Defense League Update: On Wed, May 10, at 7 PM, the Arizona Legislature adjourned (Sine Die) their 2017 Regular Session. Any bills that did not make it through the Legislature and get sent to the Governor are dead this year. The effective date of bills signed by the Governor is August 9, 2017.The status and summary of bills that AzCDL monitored this session can be found on our Bill Tracking page. We thank the AzCDL members and activists that sent over 50,000 emails to legislators and the Governor using AzCDL's Legislative Action Center this session.  You made a difference.  With your help we managed to stop a dozen anti-rights firearms bills and get the following pro-rights bills signed by the Governor.
HB 2216 (Rep. Paul Boyer, LD-20) makes it unlawful to mandate "electronic firearm tracking technology," a component of "smart gun" technology.
HB 2477 (Rep. Eddie Farnsworth, LD-12) makes critical reforms to Arizona's civil forfeiture laws.
SB 1122 (Sen. Gail Griffin, LD-14) prohibits the search of any federal or state database as a requirement for transferring personal property, such as your firearm.
SB 1344 (Sen. John Kavanagh, LD-23), the AzCDL-requested bill that clarifies that state and local governments cannot regulate the possession of weapons by employees or contractors in or on their privately owned property or vehicles.
We expect bigger challenges next year.  The anti-rights groups, realizing that there is little chance of restricting your rights at the national level, are redoubling their efforts at the state level where they have the greatest chances to succeed.  Arizona is their number one target.  Stay alert.  Don't succumb to "Trump Sleep."

Activist Stephen Sivigliano: In response to Pastor Jim Dutton's criticism of my recent statement: I am aware of some religious leaders speaking out against abortion. The reality is that they are in the minority. All the others are missing the boat, either out of fear, or because they are for abortion. They need to be more passionate, like you and myself. Also, we need to see more people actually going to the scene of the holocaust, ie. planned parenthood, which I call klanned parentlesshoods. There, I have not only "talked the talk," but also "walked the walk" literally hundreds of times, and a couple thousand hours, at my own inconvenience and cost, for the sole purpose of trying to save a few lives now and then. I have looked into the eyes of evil, up close, and it's not pretty. I know some people who have actually saved dozens of lives. I'm not too fond of the use of the word "basket" since HRC used the term "baskets of deplorables." I do see some hope every time a new sidewalk counselor shows up, especially with little children. There is always hope. We are on the same side, and do not need to clash and criticize each other.

Secretary of State Michelle Reagan: Arizonans will soon track political spending using our new “See the Money” interactive web platform. The new tool in the final stages of development will include expanded functionality made possible through a partnership with the Citizens Clean Elections Commission. The partnership between our office and the CCEC ensures citizens will be able to explore campaign finance information to learn about the people who write checks and politicians that cash them. We’re excited about continuing the collaboration we’ve had with CCEC, especially on a project as important as this. Educating voters is a priority for both of our organizations and our See the Money website will revolutionize the way people view campaign contributions and political spending. We’ll start testing later this year and anticipate a formal launch in time for the 2018 election cycle. Stay tuned!
