5-21-17 Briefs

Yesterday, The Arizona Republican Assembly (AZRA) Elected Jim O’Connor as their new President. Walter Steiner was election Secretary and Ardith Hildebrant is the new Treasurer. They were elected  for two-year terms. Irving Scott was elected National Director to the National Federation of Republican Assemblies. Scott will complete the one year vacancy remaining of the current term. AZRA also adopted new by laws, recommended by the board of directions. See 5-19-2017 Briefs archives AZRA has a statewide membership of 475 , which O’Connor plans to double by calendar year end. Members are spread over 10 Chapters and work is in process to launch five additional Chapters, he said See officer bios 5-20-17-briefs  For years the Republican Assemblies have used “The Republican Wing of the Republican Party” as their tag line – meaning that members hold the U. S. Constitution, their respective State Constitutions, and the Republican Party Platform as their standard. Those are the values members hold in common, and the principles to which they adhere. O’Connor has established a new motto - “DO the Right Things, the Right Way, with the Right Attitude”. He is convinced there is a better way to do politics, one that will “attract Republican Party members to engage with us and commit to the success of electing the best Republican candidates to office throughout our State.” He said “The purposes and objectives stated in the AZRA Bylaws are to create practical programs for the betterment of the Republican Party, and to improve the public relations and public image of the party by supporting political campaigns, encouraging public forums, and social programs.” AZRA will host the National Federation of Republican Assemblies Convention Oct 6-8 in Mesa with guests from throughout the nation. Conference details tba.

The Goldwater Institute has made a public records request for all documents related to the new “social justice advocate” positions at the University of Arizona , including how the positions are funded and what guidelines are in place for policing speech.

Activist Bill Heuisler: The Dallas County (TX) Elections Department knew it had a problem when residents started receiving “mail-in ballots” they never requested. Dr. Pat Stephens, said "I got a knock on my door and the guy was saying that he was coming to pick up the mail-in ballots.” I told him, 'Well I didn’t order one.'” So far, over 700 "mail-in-ballots" are linked to applications assisted by a person that has been deemed “suspicious.” Democrats-Embroiled-Major-Fraud-Scandal . In August 2016, Arizona’s official Election records show John McCain won the Republican primary against Kelli Ward by approximately the same vote count Alex Meluskey received in that same Republican Primary. Meluskey dropped out in June after his name was certified to be on the August Ballot. His support then polled at about 5%. Arizona’s Attorney General did not enforce our anti-Ballot Harvesting law until AFTER our August Primary. President Trump has just announced a National Investigation into US Voter Fraud. What a fortuitous coincidence; the Arizona Republican Party will surely want to fully cooperate… And if they don’t, we will! Democrat-Campaign-Worker-Recorded-Bragging-About-His-Voter-Fraud-Schemes

Republican National Committeeman Bruce Ash: My friends will tell you that I have often said a Trump Presidency could be as "messy" just as the Trump primary and general election campaigns. It is "messy" again right now. In the 2016 election Trump not only ran against Clinton but also the media, the Democrat & GOP establishment and the never Trumpers. It seems today that every punk trying to make a name for themselves in DC is attempting to take down a US President--including a former FBI Director. A few of my friends have become disheartened over the events of the past week or so as everyone of his opponents have dog piled on him. I recommend reading this article written by Kyle Smith from The NY Post on the 13th to remind you why we voted for Donald Trump and why we need to stick by him in the upcoming days. Make no mistake Donald Trump has made mistakes. But he does represent and resemble people like us who believe in the change he has promised (and so far he has delivered ). Change is difficult. Trump is the greatest political disrupter in the past century. For those of us who have craved change for the past decade Donald Trump is a change agent. Buckle up. Hang on. It is time to re affirm our national desire to drain the DC swamp and make America great again.

May 30 Is The Deadline To Comment on the Arizona Department of Transportation’s (ADOT)recommended plan for the next five years of construction projects. The third public hearing for the Tentative Five-Year Program is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, May 19, in the ADOT Auditorium, 206 S. 17th Ave. in Phoenix. The monthly State Transportation Board meeting will follow the public hearing. The Tentative Five-Year Program outlines proposed projects and improvements to the state highway system over the next five years. The program is updated annually and designates how much local, state and federal funding is allocated for projects for highways, bridges, transit and aviation. Many of the major projects in this Tentative Program focus on improving some of Arizona’s busiest corridors. Better mobility means better daily commutes and travel for everyone. Improved roads also enhance freight movement, trade, commerce and economic development, all of which benefit the quality of life statewide. The complete report of all proposed projects is available at for review and comment until 5 p.m. on May 30. The Tentative Program is available for public review and comment at, where a “how to read it” guide is available. ADOT welcomes feedback through Survey Monkey at, by email at and by

Floating Around The Internet:

     · Salary of retired US Presidents ... $180,000 FOR LIFE. This doesn't include Secret Service body guards for life

     · Salary of House/Senate members ... $174,000 FOR LIFE. This is stupid

     · Salary of Speaker of the House ... $223,500 FOR LIFE. This is really the most stupid

     · Salary of Majority / Minority Leaders ... $193,400 FOR LIFE. Very stupid

     · Average Salary of a teacher …$40,065.

     · Average Salary of a deployed Soldier ... $38,000.

      1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman / woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay and limited benefits when they're out of office.

      2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.
      3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.
      4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
      5. Congress participates in the same health care system as the American people.
      6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
      7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 6/1/17. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.  Congress made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), no more than 2, then go home and go back to work.

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!  Pass it on (and send a copy to your congressman/woman.)  Let's drain the swamp!
