7-11-17 Briefs

Republican Briefs

LD30 First Vice Chairman Timothy Schwartz: AZGOP Exec Dir Matthew Kenney's attack against AZGOP Secretary Gabby Mercer on Friday was well thought out, strategic and deceptive. 7-7-17 Briefs archives  Instead of addressing the real issues, Kenney lists his military service. While we appreciate those who have served, it's clear he's using those overused lines to hide from addressing the real questions. Enough!  We're ALL angry; using a false attack makes us even angrier because you're attempting to distract attention away from the real problem. We won't let you do that any longer! Gabby’s actions show she stands for integrity and righteousness, both Godly and Biblical characteristics. Gabby bears good fruit! Kenney needs to do a little internal fruit inspection.

     1. Kenney has long been part of the group that wants to purge conservatives from the party. I was one of the first people to expose the Arizona grassroots PAC. Kenney was listed on the PAC payroll. McCain's Big Purge They were making me a target. McCain-Using-Obama-San-Francisco-Donor-To Purge AZ Tea Partiers

     2. Kenney trained dozens of PC's who did not speak English. I hired a Vietnamese translator and found out Kenney was the Notary to sign all their applications. Only two spoke English and were the only ones who ever attended our meetings.

    3. When LD30 recruited dozens of PCs, many false stories were told about me. Multiple bogus threats of phony lawsuits were issued, but we ignored them all.

     4.  Life made miserable because LD30 didn’t buckle to purge.

     5. As rumors circulated about Kenney being chosen to run AZGOP, I asked Kenney if he would ever go to work for the AZGOP. He very clearly told me that would never happen because he was very happy working for Kory Langhofer. Shortly after my conversation with Kenney, the announcement was made that  Kenney would be the new executive director at AZGOP.

Many are now asking for help to put a stop to the political circus. We must call out those evading being transparent, and demand they answer relevant questions. I've fought these swamp actors before, and I'm ready to do it again.  Let's begin the dialog. Editor’s Note: Due to Briefs word limit policy, this is a very condensed version of the Schwartz five-point letter. See his entire letter at  The 'Real' Matthew Kenney.

Russell Sias, County Chairman, La Paz County: Well!  It appears that all the complaining about our AZGOP leadership may be coming to a head. I have been contacted by some whom appear ready, willing, and able to actually take on our leadership issues.  All I can say is it’s about time!  When the smoke clears, maybe we will actually find out what really happened to the missing quarter million dollars that so surprised Chairman Lines - while he was still treasurer, no less.

Talk Show Host Alice Lara: Thanks for the terrific job you do - I have no idea how you do it.  If I don't hit your Briefs each day I am lost politically. Muchas Gracias!

The First Maricopa County chapter of the Constitutional Sheriff's and Peace Officer Association will meet at 7 pm., Tues., July 11 at the in Desert Heritage Real Estate Office, 8476 W Thunderbird Road in Peoria, according to Maricopa County leader Randy Miller. There is no requirement to have been a peace officer. This is a “peoples group.” He said the meetings and membership are open to anyone who believes in the Constitutional form of government and maintaining the principles and values that established this country. Understanding the role of the peace officer in or community, the role of our state legislators, the position of the Sheriff under the constitution, and the oath they all take is important to understanding how we can address the clear violations and usurpation of the constitutional boundaries and limits of government. There is much power in the people and we just need to exercise it and educate those in power that are either oblivious or ignorant of this power, constitutionally speaking. We are patriots and believe in our sovereignty and freedoms as an individual, state, and the United States and we are proud of saying so.  If we don't stand together and stop the attacks on our liberties, values and culture as a nation, we will perish.  If you want to support our constitution and help to preserve our country in perpetuity then please join us at one or all of our meetings, Miller said. Winners are:

     · First Place: Mertie Stompro, Patrol Lieutenant with the Sierra Vista Police Department

     · Honorable Mention: David Bruster, Tombstone Fire Chief

Congressman Andy Biggs introduced an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2018 to restore financial oversight to the Department of Defense (DoD).  Specifically, this amendment requires DoD to decrease discretionary spending by .5 percent if they fail to submit their annual financial statement or if the statement has not received an audit opinion by an independent external auditor as required by current law. Congressman Andy Biggs introduces an amendment to audit the Pentagon “I am proud that the United States of America has the greatest military in the world. Congress must ensure that our Armed Forces have the resources necessary to remain the world’s number one fighting force and to keep our nation safe. However, every department has the responsibility to be good stewards of taxpayer money, especially given our current fiscal situation. Without accurate financial records, we have no idea if this money is being spent wisely.  This is simply unacceptable and our constituents expect more from us. My amendment would bring much needed and long-waited accountability to the Department.” – Congressman Andy Biggs

US Sen John McCain has announced that Truman Anderson has joined his Senate office in Washington, D.C. as chief of staff as Pablo Carrillo, who has served as McCain’s chief of staff since 2013, departs. Anderson joins McCain’s office after serving as Executive Director of the Stuart Family Foundation in Lake Forest, Illinois, a private foundation that supports research on public policy.

Sen John McCain Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, on the retaking of Mosul: “The retaking of Mosul today marks an important success in the campaign to defeat ISIL, but this conflict is far from over. It is better to think of today as the end of the beginning rather than the beginning of the end. The Iraqi government and its military forces, along with its U.S. and coalition partners, deserve great credit in this hard fought campaign. It is now incumbent upon all of these actors to formulate a strategy to hold, stabilize, and rebuild Mosul. In particular, this strategy must recognize and address the terrorist threat that ISIL will continue to pose in Mosul and in other parts of Iraq. A comprehensive post-Mosul strategy is the only way to ensure that the defeat of ISIL will be enduring. We cannot afford for Mosul to turn out like Libya, where we squandered a long and brutal military success by walking away before winning the peace.”
