7-22-17 Briefs

Republican Briefs

La Paz County Chairman Russell Sias writes: I must join Marianne Ferrari in her effort.  When I ask honest and legitimate questions; like who authorized the quarter million dollar expenditure, why it was a surprise, or asked for bylaw committee member contact information, or why our existing bylaws are not followed why instead of handing over the secretary's records, who is exercising improper control over the secretary to the point that the new secretary cannot do her job, I eventually arrive at the point of being forced to admit that the leadership of our party needs to change. In just one instance of the many, the issue with our secretary being denied access is a clear violation of our bylaws.  The bylaws read:  "...He/she {the secretary} shall be responsible to preserve all permanent records of the state committee and relinquish them to his/her successor." Now, my question: Who has decided to prevent Gabby Saucedo Mercer from being responsible for the permanent records of the state committee, when was this decision made, and how does ANYONE view the above bylaw statement feel that they have any right to prevent her from being responsible, exactly as the bylaws suggests she should be;; AND in the precise manner she feels is appropriate? I have not received ANY answers to any of my questions.  Instead, I have been accused of being hateful, among other things. When I, as a committee member, cannot even get a contact list of bylaws committee members, from someone who has been appointed by our state chairman, and after having addressed the issue directly with him, and STILL getting zero responses from him, then it is time for a change. Sooner than later.  And, it is not about hate, it is about openness and honesty from our leadership.

Bruce M Piepho, LD14 state committeeman, disagrees with Kevin Dang, Chairman of the GOP Arizona Asian Coalition, for attacking Timothy Schwartz: Schwartz was not attacking you. He was criticizing Matthew Kenney - -not you and your fellow Vietnamese-Americans. If they are US citizens, all certainly have the right to vote. If they do not speak English, participating in AZGOP meetings is problematic due to not being clearly able to understand the reasons to vote one way or the other unless someone else tells the non-English speaking person how to vote. You admit many of them have very little knowledge on voting rights. If true then how can they either vote, other than for a political candidate, or meaningfully initiate a proxy? Kenney rudely and disgustingly verbally attacked Gabriela Mercer, AZGOP Secretary. Schwartz was defending her. I am offended by stuffing the ballot box with ill-advised proxy votes. If Kenney had only recruited hundreds of Vietnamese-American to join the Republican Part we all could celebrate. I accused Kenney in a letter to the attorney general of fraud, vote tampering and falsifying documents. Yes, This country has given you and many other immigrants opportunities to pursue a better life, the freedom to live, to speak, to pray as we choose, and to support the leaders who we choose. New to the country is not an automatic access to rights such as exercising informed voting at a political party. I would say the same to a Democrat. Welcome Mr. Kevin Dang to America. However, you need to understand the enemy of your rights as a U.S. citizen and threat to pursuit of happiness is Sen John McCain and the likes of Kenney. They desire to control you, use you and retain power over you.

LD 22 State Committeeman Lori Hack: Thank you, Marianne Ferrari, for your 7-21-17-Briefs submission laying out the plan for a better and brighter AZGOP. Marianne, I fully support your initiative to REMOVE Jonathan Lines as AZGOP chair. Further, I was disgusted to find in Friday's mail a letter from Bruce Ash dated 7-19-2017 pimping out Lines with flattery. Enough with the SWAMP swimming!

Navajo County Republicans First Vice Chair Karen MacKean: I woke up yesterday morning with “righteous indignation” on my mind. Interestingly, our friend Marianne Ferrari used the same words in her Briefs 7-21-17-Briefs and AFA The Case For Removal posts yesterday morning regarding the AZGOP’s Chairman Jonathan Lines failure to comply with Az. State Statues and AZGOP bylaws and his refusal to hand over records to our duly elected Secretary Gabby Mercer and Treasurer Robert Lettieri! Navajo County Republicans Chairman Steve Slaton and I were both a part of bringing this effort to fruition. Steve challenged treasurer Lettieri early on and asked what he was doing as our elected treasurer and why he was not standing up and taking the responsibility of his office. We called Gabby Mercer and asked her what we could do to help her out, as well. At the July 17 meeting of the AZGOP Executive Committee Meeting in Flagstaff it was abundantly clear that the AZGOP Board had no intention of following any rules ever. Their arrogance was astounding and Kim “don’t touch me” Owens response to a perfectly legitimate question on the AZ GOP Secretaries responsibilities was classic hysteria and continued stonewalling. Members of the Republican Party were huge supporters of the Tea Party Movement in 2009 & Andrew Britebart’s Righteous Indignation led us onto victory in 2010, 2012 and we continued onto 2016 and the election of President Donald Trump! Let’s do the same here in Arizona and set an example for all Americans (Republicans) and be righteously indignant! Recall-Lines

Activist James Alberts: Sen John McCain should resign and retire before the 2018 elections and save Arizona tax payers the cost of a special election! Focus on your treatment McCain, you will not feel like traveling to D.C. and we need a senator that will support our President.

LD23 PC Gina Swoboda: The Deep State and Big Club of D.C. are on an ever-expanding, never-ending witch hunt against our duly elected President, Donald J. Trump. If you feel the same way, please call the DOJ comment line and let them know you want it stopped. Call Rod Rosenstein DOJ @ 202-514-2000 using option 4 and voice disagreement with Special Counsel Mueller Investigation. Do it now.

PC George Taylor: Five pounds of fentanyl is capable of killing a lot of people. Responders-Taking-Extra-Precautions-After-Fentanyl-Related-Death Editor’s Note: Taylor is the chairman of the national retired board patrol officers..

Archie Dicksion, the anti-proxy petition spokesman, has announced the petition is posted at Just filled it out and submit it to Dicksion electronically. The petition requests that Arizona State Legislature “prohibit the use of proxies at political party votes, or limit their use to no more than two (2) proxies per carrier.” Dicksion can also be reached at 949-233-0009.

Secretary of State Michele Reagan has announced the number of registered voters in Arizona has increased 14,169 to more than 3.6 million active voters.  Of the state's 3,650,673 voters, 1,264,154 are Republicans, 1,104,927 are Democrats and 1,242,532 have not designated an officially recognized party preference.  Libertarians and members of the Green party make up a little less than one percent of the state’s total registration. “It’s great to see enrollment rise especially in light of local elections coming up in August,” said Reagan.  “These elections have a tremendous impact on the quality of life in our communities and oftentimes turnout is fairly low.  With a voter registration deadline of July 31 and early ballots going out two days later I would encourage voters to visit www.Arizona.Vote to find out the candidates and issues that they’ll find on their ballot.”
