11-3-17 Briefs

Congressman Trent Franks was a guest on the 8 pm Shannon Bream show last night with Rep Gottheimer (D-NJ) about ways to mitigate risk of ISIS-inspired attacks in the US.

Patriot groups, including Grassroots Team Party Patriots, are alerting residents of the upcoming ANTIFA proposed threats and terrorists attacks, etc., scheduled throughout the nation for Sat., Nov 4 and possibly into Sun., Nov. 5. To date, over 75 American and international anarchist groups have been identified as the groups' plans to riot around the country on Nov 4th. Phoenix is listed among their targeted cities. Militias are asking all Trump supporters and citizens to not wear any #MAGA or pro-Trump apparel on Nov 4th because it will make you a target. ANTIFA participants have been urged to disguise themselves as patriots or Trump supporters by wearing MAGA hats, carrying US Flags to confuse the media and police.

According To The State Department, Only 20% Of Terrorist Attacks Are Conducted With A Firearm. Terrorists use car bombs, homemade bombs made from kitchen items, rented trucks, etc. to kill. Frequency of attacks are not based on type of weapon – it’s the ideology propelling the attacker.

Rep. Trent Franks Introduced An Amendment To The NDAA that would identify various Islamic religious doctrines used by terrorist groups – so that we can better understand the enemy the Defense Dept. has spent billions of dollars and over 16 years trying to defeat. The goal -- that the Pentagon could use official language to identify Islamic leaders who preach peaceful belief vs. espouse extremist views. But, the politically correct Washington establishment felt the pressure from radical liberals and declined the amendment.

Rep. Franks Suggests The Administration Back Our Allies The Kurds So They Can Continue Fighting Radical Islamists. The Kurds have fought tooth and nail to defeat ISIS and end the spread of their medieval horrors in the Middle East. But, as they seek the autonomy to create Kurdistan, the U.S. has not acknowledged them and let radical, theocratic Iranian-backed militia groups siege their cities.

Everest’, and I am honored to be on that summit; a summit that I have been standing on for many years. Terry, a member of the U.S. Border Patrol’s elite tactical unit known as BORTAC, was on duty when he was shot to death while tracking members of a suspected drug cartel rip crew in 2010 near Rio Rico, AZ. Two semi-automatic assault rifles similar to AK-47’s were found at the murder scene and ultimately traced to the botched gun trafficking investigation known as Operation Fast and Furious. The ATF allowed licensed firearms dealers to sell weapons to illegal straw buyers, in order to track the guns to Mexican drug cartels, but they lost track of the weapons. The Brian Terry Foundation was established to honor the memory of Brian Terry and is dedicated to supporting the families of fallen U.S. Border Patrol agents while also establishing educational scholarships for men and women wishing pursue careers in the field of criminal justice. Since 2014 scholarships have been awarded to 40 students. ATF Agent John Dodson will be receiving will be receiving the Brian Terry Profiles in Courage Award. Kenneth R. Bowers, Jr: I am a candidate for the District 28 seat in the Arizona Senate. I am financing this effort myself.  I am not soliciting or accepting financial assistance. I am a US Navy veteran and a registered Arizona attorney. I Ken Bowers 2have lived in District 28 for more than 30 years. My resume can be seen at I am a 20 year veteran retiree with the Arizona Department of Corrections. I believe there are tens of thousands of young men and at least hundreds of young women inmates who should not be in prison. In the page entitled "On the Issues" you will find a full description of my proposal to revise our criminal code to imprison violent offenders and fine fiscal offenders. I also have plans to expedite the transfer of federal land to Arizona; this is also discussed under "On the Issues".  I use the motto "Make America Great Again" on my leaflets and most of my signs because I identify myself with the policies of President Donald Trump.  You can accurately judge my character by reference to my desire to help President Trump restore the prosperity that was extant in the 1950's. I have never been elected to any office. Thank you for your consideration. I need your vote. God Bless America!

Arizona State Legislative Candidate Julie Willoughby has called on her opponent, Nora Ellen, to assure voters in LD 17 she will avoid any appearance of nepotism or campaign impropriety this campaign season. This concern is rooted Julie Willoughby 2in the fact that Ellen’s son and current Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives, J.D. Mesnard, will have lobbyists vying for support for their respective bills while his mother would be courting those same groups for campaign contributions. Willoughby challenged Ellen and stressed her concerns stating, “I’d like to see her decline any and all lobbyist contributions to her campaign until the second regular session of the current legislature has concluded.” According to ARS § 41-1234.01., “Lobbyists are prohibited from soliciting, promising to solicit, making or promising to make campaign contributions to members of the Legislature or the Governor during the regular legislative session, and when legislation from the regular session awaits gubernatorial action.” Willoughby continued, “Considering there was over $300,000 spent in the district last campaign season, there’s every reason to believe those numbers will be met or exceeded this cycle. It’s crucial for the voters in our district to have the confidence that the legislative priorities of the House will not be influenced by a relationship between the political campaign of a mother and the legislative role of her son.” Contact Willoughby at 602-799-6073(o)

Activist Anita Christy: I read Robert Branch’s remarks 11/11-2-17-briefs and I read Frank Riggs’ bills and all of his additional supporting data.  Dr. Branch clearly asserted that “two bills co-sponsored by former Congressman Riggs ‘crippled the logging industry’ and ‘crippled the fishing industry’."  On the contrary, a close read of the bills makes it clear that the bills were in support of both the logging and fishing industries.  2)  If these California industries have suffered over the years, it wasn’t for a lack of the valiant efforts of conservative Republicans like former Congressman Frank Riggs,  John Doolittle, and Richard Pombo.  3) It seems that Dr. Branch doesn’t know how to read and understand a piece of legislation.  This puts him at a serious disadvantage, since he will need to work intelligently with legislators.  4) The California Forestry Association appreciated Frank Riggs’ efforts and awarded him a plaque which states, “In recognition of six years of dedicated service to the Rural Communities of Northern California and for your Commitment to Responsible Forestry as Representative of California’s 1st Congressional District.”  Does the Forestry Association give awards to people who “cripple” their industry?  5) Why is Dr. Branch avoiding a debate regarding Arizona’s serious educational issues affecting over 1 million students?  Why does he feel compelled to ignore the last 20 years of Frank Riggs’ accomplishments and scrounge for nonexistent proof from the 1990’s that has no bearing on the Superintendent of Public Instruction campaign?   Editor’s Note: Christy sent a photo of a plaque presented to Riggs from the California Forestry Association that reads: “1998 Congressional Achievement Award – Honorable Frank Riggs – In Recognition Of Six Years Of Dedicated Service To The Rural Communities Of Northern California And For Your Commitment To Responsible Forestry As Representative Of California’s 1st Congressional District. Editor’s Note: Christy is the publisher of the Publisher, and

Arizona Activist Anna Morrison: I have been the Legislative liaison for Oregon Women In Timber since the mid 80', prior owner of a logging company in Oregon and a former County Commissioner in Lane County for 8 years.  During all this time, I have been in the trenches during all the timber wars including the Northwest Forestry Summit with Clinton and Gore that produced the NW Forest Plan.  Oregon Women In Timber can say that when Frank Riggs was in Congress he was one of the few California elected federal officials that supported our industry.   We would like to ask where Arizona was in the early years of fighting these battles??  How many of you encouraged your representative to support the Federal Forest Resilient Act that passed the House on Wednesday??
