Arizona-Republicans-Prepare-For-Annual-Meeting, Pick-Candidates The annual mandatory meeting of the Arizona GOP will be held this Saturday, January 27, and members are weighing their choices. Republican activists will have an opportunity to fill a number of key leadership positions….
Activist Vera Anderson Plans To Present A Resolution in opposition of DACA at the Jan 27 AZGOP Mandatory meeting. Anderson said, “NO DACA - The DREAM Act is a potential legislation that must be passed by Congress and signed by the President into a law whereas DACA was an Executive Order that was Resolution signed by former President Obama on June 15, 2012.” Her resolution reads:
· Whereas, little effort has been made to interdict, apprehend, deport, and prevent illegal immigration into the United States, and constitutes lawlessness of the most flagrant variety;
· Whereas, various amnesties in the past encouraged illegal immigration, increased immigration through family reunification, and have promised but failed to implement strong labor verification systems and to build a wall securing the border with Mexico,
· Whereas, various amnesties, and ongoing illegal and legal immigration have transformed entire states of this country from Constitutional rule in which the GOP thrived, into states bereft of Constitutional rule in which the GOP has nearly disappeared,
· Whereas, the invasion of illegal immigrants presents a clear and present danger to the security of the United States, by facilitating traffic in human beings, drugs, and other contraband, and by opening conduits for terrorist infiltration,
· Whereas, the ongoing illegal immigration constitutes nothing less than a hostile invasion of the United States, encouraged and abetted by foreign powers, in Mexico and elsewhere, some of whom have made clear their agenda to reclaim on behalf of the Mexican government territory annexed by the United States after the Mexican War,
· Be it therefore resolved that the Arizona GOP opposes DACA and all legislation that extends amnesty in any degree or in any form to illegal immigrants, or in any way rewards illegal aliens in the United States with legal status or other benefits, any other rights or privileges accorded to American citizens or foreign nationals traveling or residing legally within the United States.
A Maricopa County Judge Ruled Tuesday that a candidate in Congressional District 8 Special Primary Election should be removed from the ballot for not providing enough valid signatures to qualify for the ballot. The decision required that Gene Scharer’s name not be included in this election. The plaintiff withdrew a separate case challenging the validity of the signatures that candidate Brianna Westbrook submitted. Signature challenges were filed with the court on Thursday, January 18. On Jan. 12, the Maricopa Elections Department, following direction from the Department of Justice, sent 153 Democratic primary ballots to overseas and military voters. Democratic voters returned six of those ballots. Instructions included on the ballot indicated that the candidate roster was subject to change. The Maricopa Elections Department revised and resent the Democratic Primary ballots to reflect the changes to the candidate list to 151 voters. Two of the 153 voters have moved back in county. Additionally, the six voters who already returned their ballots will receive new, updated ballots. The Elections Department will hold the initial ballots returned by the Democratic overseas and military voters until the voters return the new, updated ballot. If the voters do not return the second ballot, the first ballot will be processed. Congressional District 8 is having a special election to fill a vacancy that occurred more than six months before the regularly scheduled election. The Primary Election will be held on February 27, 2018 and the General Election will be held on April 24, 2018. A calendar of important election dates is available at /electioncalendar.aspx.
Heritage Action for America has officially released its Scorecard for the 115th Congress. The Scorecard allows you to hold members of Congress accountable for how they vote on key pieces of legislation, according to Nathan Duell – southwest Regional Coordinator. Despite Being Twice Elected Sheriff In Arizona, having a longtime dedicated national following, and having the second largest number of signatures of any candidate running for Congress the 8th Congressional District Special Election – the Arizona Republic newspaper shut out Sheriff Richard Mack from participating in their online debate Wednesday night. Mack, a nationally known conservative leader who won a US Supreme Court case against President Clinton over the Brady Gun Bill, last week was refused onto the stage of a forum in Peoria. Mack’s Campaign Manager Howie Morgan stated, “I don’t know how any so-called ‘legitimate’ news outlet can declare someone who has run so many times and often for multiple races at the same time – losing all of them – that the Arizona Legislature decides to pass a bill stopping that foolishness as a ‘legitimate’ candidate, but then deems a twice elected Arizona Sheriff with a national profile as not worthy to join the stage. The Arizona Republic did its best to make the Arizona GOP look like fools, and the candidates on the stage allowed that to happen.”
Sheriff Richard Mack stated, “It is outrageous that the political elite of the Republican Party still doesn’t understand why we in the grassroots cannot trust them to treat us with basic fairness. We are supposed to be the political party that is against picking winners and losers, but the Establishment just can’t help themselves. Only their crony friends with massive donors are allowed to play in what they always think is their own sandbox. Long before I was elected Sheriff, I fought to protect the Constitution from those who would seek to usurp it,” Mack continued. “I realize the political elite want to rig the system, but like President Trump we in Arizona have to ‘drain the swamp’ in the GOP as well.” Contact:www.SheriffRichardMack.com
Notes From Readers
Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl: Personal observation! Seems that Russell Sias and a few others worked their ‘buns’ off updating the antiquated and autocratic AZ GOP bylaws. They did this according to the instructions set forth in the bylaws. Read it for yourself. Note that the non-elected Executive Dictator of the Republican Party in Arizona has taken it on himself to do what he wants while the ‘apparently’ laid back chairman of the party just rambles on with general news in his daily reports and lets someone else run the party. And remember, the ED published an unsigned ‘call letter, bypassing the party secretary. But you know what is sad about all of this, with most of the County
Leaders Chairmen and ‘talking heads’ too laid back to give a damn and do anything, and letting a non-elected, high paid, individual rub their nose in ‘it’!!! County Chairs!!!! Try treating your county Precinct Committeemen like the non-elected Executive Director of the AZ GOP has been treating you and the State Committeemen and see what happens! Question, is this the non-elected party leadership you expect? If the County Chairmen can’t be organized and take over the running the party for WE THE PEOPLE, and most are content to let a non-elected person run the party, the best advise I’ve heard is to re-register as an independent.
Tom Morrissey, Past Chairman AZ GOP: It is no secret that a war is brewing within the ranks of the AZ GOP and the opposing "armies" are Lined (no pun intended) up ready for what appears will be a battle at the upcoming State Mandatory Meeting. Due to the fact that I am no longer a state committeeman (for this go-round) I will not be in attendance. However, if I were, I would be standing with the Grassroots army peering across the battle Line (again, no pun intended) and making it known that the Establishment Elite Ruling Class is once again trying to play those of us who actually believe in the principles our party is based upon. Said principles are the very same as those our Founders stood upon when they used the three most powerful words "We the people" as the opening statement of the document that eventually gave us our Liberty. Unfortunately today's AZ GOP is not demonstrating that it believes the Party belongs to "WE the people". The question posed therefore, is what can be done about it? Or should that question be, "what will be done about it?" I believe the answer will be forthcoming at the meeting this Saturday. And to all my Grassroots brothers and sisters I urge you to read the words of C.S. Lewis and take heart, "You can't go back and change the beginning - but you can start where you are and change the ending." Take heart. Take heart. And stay strong!
LD21 PC Randy Miller Letter #4 Candidates for CD 8 - Claire Van Steenwyk: When I was working Gang Suppression Team (GST), I would organize and coordinate periodic “shake ups” of our gangs. This could be for several reasons; we have several incidents that need to be investigated, or our Eastside and Westside gangs haven’t been playing nice with each other, to get weapons off the streets, and find our warrant cases. We did what we could to keep our communities safe. Ensuring everyone’s safety, both on the 4 or 5 teams I would put together, and those we arrested or detained, you have to know the personalities of those you give assignments and place them accordingly.
Although Claire hasn’t held public office, he is running for one and is asking us to give him our vote. This allows us to evaluate his character and personality as well as his skill set since he will have to work with others to move the country along in a favorable direction. Clair is knowledgeable of the constitution and many issues. I may not agree with him all the time, on occasion believing him to be reading into an issue something I don’t see, but it fits his need at the time.
Finally, no one can have a civil discussion with him. Clair is a verbal porcupine. Nobody can talk to him without getting poked. We need someone that can communicate with people by listening to others. I have tried talking with him. With Clair, your cup overflows with his thoughts while his cup remains empty of yours. Washington won’t work with that. His ambition is too much with being on the ballot last time for two separate seats, confusing voters, and taking votes from others despite what he says. He will say statistics don’t back this up, again using something that benefits his position, not yours. He’s the unreasonable gang leader refusing to work on an issue with an opposing gang because his ego demands “Respect” in order to maintain his image in front of his gang.
Our country is in trouble and the people we send to Washington must be the right ones. It is my opinion that Clair is not able to play well with others based on my attempted conversations with him and his ambitions appearing to be too overplayed. He is the person I would have cover that back door should someone run out, knowing nobody is home when we “Knock and Notice” but you have to check anyway. This is called playing it safe.
Ren Ramsey - AZGOP CD6 Member-at-Large and Committee to Protect Citizen Liberty Chairman-- Summary of Deep State Corruption Part II: The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) has a memo documenting abuse of power by the Obama Administration against US Citizens by the DOJ/FBI. Due to their law enforcement roles, they left a trail of evidence allowing identification and exposure of their corruption. This criminal operation involved the illegal use and falsification of intelligence gathered against Trump Campaign/Administration.
First, the FBI/DOJ started with unlawful use of Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act Subsection 702 (FISA-702). Second, this intelligence was altered and disseminated outside of government by private individuals and contractors who reconstituted it as a new product. Third, the product was provided by David Kramer of ASU to Senator McCain, who in turn laundered it to the FBI which used it before the FISA Court for legitimizing the previous FISA 702 exploits. Fourth, the FBI/DOJ Chiefs illegally coordinated with various intelligence operatives, media and political hacks. This coordination was led by a small insider team:
Asst. Attorney General Sally Yates, fired for insubordination; Asst. AG Head of National Security Division John P Carlin, resigned after the 702 exploits were exposed by the NSA Director; Deputy Attorney Bruce Ohr, reassigned for corrupting judicial proceedings with his wife; DOJ/FBI Legal Liaison Lisa Page, under investigation for corruption involving her affair with FBI Counter-Intelligence Officer Peter Strzok.
FBI Director Jim Comey, fired; Asst. FBI Director Andrew McCabe, resigned and whose wife is embroiled in a separate political corruption investigation for campaigning against Trump surrogates and Virginia Senator Richard Black; Director of Counterintelligence W.H. “Bill Priestap,” under investigation for not informing HPSCI of Operation Trump; FBI Chief Legal Counsel James Baker, fired for providing legal cover to this conspiracy; FBI Counterintelligence Agent Peter Strzok, under investigation for an affair with Lisa Page to corrupt the course of justice.
Fusion GPS co-founder Glenn Simpson; Mary B. Jacoby, the wife of Glenn Simpson, and a private contractor trained in CIA operations; Nellie Ohr (also wife of DOJ team insider disgraced Bruce Ohr); Christopher Steele, a “former” British MI6 Agent, accused of assembling the Steele Dossier.
In summary, the scope of these activities against the Trump Campaign are merely the evolutionary development of corruption started years ago by Obama Administration’s such as targeting Tea Party groups and the Operation Fast and Furious. These operations are so large, insidious, and criminal that it beggars belief. HPSCI has summarized it and is conducting ongoing investigation. Given the centrality of the Arizona Trump Campaign as a probable victim of this illegal operation, the Arizona GOP must seriously consider a response. We demand post-911 FISA powers be eliminated and above all demand HPSCI release the memo.
Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl: Readers of the Arizona Town Crier emails know how critical of the AZ GOP leadership the emails have been at times. From time to times there are less than flattering articles in the MCRC Briefs concerning the AZ GOP. As mentioned before, it is indeed depressing to note the apathy of the State Committeemen (at large), and some of the County Chairs being just too laid back to address any shortcomings in the AZ GOP leadership. However, the Arizona Town Crier feels somewhat vindicated when articles like this appears. How AZ GOP is governed (Would you vote for this man?)
Karen M. MacKean, President White Mountains Conservatives and Steven Slaton, Chairman Navajo County Republican Committee: Senator Sylvia Allen’s Education Committee is busy changing the rules for charter schools benefiting her own Snowflake George Washington Academy - Senate Bills 1055 and 1056 amendments just passed the education committee on Jan. 11th. Unanimously. The hearing was interesting to watch ... seems Chairman Allen was dead set on "tweaking" the absenteeism clause in the bill under " schools, letter grades, absenteeism & Illness from 'severe illness" to "chronic health problems and mental illness".. Why would the chairman of the senate education committee want to do that? She says because her constituents wanted her to. Really? You'll recall Senator Allen's charter school " George Washington Academy" (part of the Sequoia Charter Schools system) in snowflake, AZ received an F rating last year (AZcentral.com) and her comment in the paper was the A-F grading system was fundamentally unfair and should be changed to a State accountability model. CEO Mark Plitzuweit of EdKey Inc. (i.e. Sequoia Charter Schools) testified at the Jan. 11 Senate education Committee meeting on behalf of the EdKey Inc. and in favor of the changes to 1055 and 1056. The A-F grading system determines the amount of money received per student based on attendance. If the attendance from year to year differs negatively, the school doesn't get the points which affects the amount of dollars the school receives.
Sean Rickert , Superintendent of Pima Unified schools district and Executive Board member of rural schools association disagrees with Senator Allen's amendments. "The chronic absenteeism in the provision is already pretty carefully weighted... it’s a couple of points in an overall 10 point system. If you have more than 20 students, is one sick student really going to make that much difference in your letter grade?"
Senator Allen was very concerned about remaining Chairman of the Education Committee, as evidenced when she refused to switch seats with Rep. Brenda Barton in the upcoming election because Rep. Barton was termed out, as promised earlier, but Senator Allen denies it today. Nepotism should never be a factor in our elected officials decisions much less laws or rules they make that effect all the people. This however, seems to be the case with Senator Allen and it is not the first time she has done so. See the entire letter at Senator Sylvia Allen’s Education Committee is busy changing the rules... Lets make sure these amendments to the Bills (SB1055 & SB1056) do not pass. Contact your legislator (www.azleg.gov/) and email Senator Allen (email@example.com) with your disapproval of her obvious manipulative actions that benefit her own charter school in Snowflake.

LD28 Senate candidate Kenneth R. Bowers, Jr: I am a candidate for the District 28 seat in the Arizona Senate. I am financing this effort myself and am not soliciting or accepting financial assistance. Please contact me via E Mail if you want a yard sign or to distribute flyers to your neighbors. KBowersJr@cox.net I am a US Navy veteran, a registered Arizona attorney and have lived in District 28 for more than 30 years. My resume can be seen at the page "About Ken". As a 20 year veteran retiree with the Arizona Department of Corrections, my belief is there are tens of thousands of young men and at least hundreds of young women inmates who should not be in prison. In the page entitled "On the Issues" you will find a full description of my proposal to revise our criminal code to imprison violent offenders and fine fiscal offenders. This huge change is my major issue. My plan to expedite the transfer of federal land to Arizona is discussed under "On the Issues". "Make America Great Again" appears on my leaflets and most of my signs because I identify myself with the policies of President Donald Trump. You can accurately judge my character by reference to my desire to help President Trump restore the prosperity that was extant in the 1950's. I have never been elected to any office. Thank you for your consideration: hoping for your vote.
LD 20 PC Massimo “Max” Sommacampagna is announcing his candidacy For Maricopa County Community College Board (District 3). Board member Johanna Haver will not be seeking reelection for her term ending in 2018. I'm 25 and have been married to my high-school sweetheart Christen for over five years. We have two beautiful children, Luca and Isabella, ages 4 and 2. I am a proud alumnus of the Maricopa County Community College District. I earned my associates degree on the President's List at Paradise Valley Community College and finished my bachelor's degree, summa cum laude, at various Maricopa County Community Colleges throughout the state with a joint program with Northern Arizona University. I've been a Republican Precinct Committeeman for over a year-and-a-half, starting in Legislative District 1. We now live in Legislative District 20 in Moon Valley. I'm a passionate supporter of the Maricopa Community Colleges as I have seen firsthand how it has supported me through running my own real estate business and supporting my family as a young professional. It gave me both the flexibility of taking courses around my work schedule and more importantly it gave me the affordability of not being burdened with student debt like many of my colleagues have been. I'm extremely passionate about the Maricopa Community Colleges as it is an incredible avenue for students coming out of high school and working adults to get an affordable quality education. I see my time commitment on the board of the Maricopa Community College District as a great civic honor in improving our education for the County and applying conservative principles within the operations. CD8 candidate Clair Van Steenwyk: My take on the Surprise Candidate Forum on Sat in SCW: I enjoyed the Forum last Saturday, as my career political opponents actually attacked one another on several fronts such as the comments some made about Trump and who they supported in that primary, National Popular Vote, etc. The excuses given by them didn't work.
I brought up votes on HB 2184 & SB 1469 - stripping authority from the Supt., and handing it over to the BOE, or PROP 123 and the theft of billions of dollars from the AZ Land Trust which Lovas, Lesko and Montenegro all supported. No defense given. I commented on the career politicians seeking higher paid jobs and no rebuttals. Then Sen. Lesko stated that only she fought against EPCOR, and then retracted the statement. I responded that I'd been and am fighting EPCOR, but no time to reveal to the Voters that; ( COMPLAINTS FILED WITH THE AZCC February 25, 2014, customers from Cross River, Dos Rios, and Coldwater Ranch delivered over 100 letters to the Commission asking them to investigate their rates for water/wastewater service. Included was a letter from LD 22 State Reps Lovas, Livingston and Senator Burges. The Legislators’ letter states that there's a great discrepancy in rates between various in northwest valley communities. It points out the water/wastewater rates for the EPCOR Agua Fria District are nearly $100 more per month than for the EPCOR Sun City District and nearly $75 more than rates for several city water services. The letter asks AZCC to review the water/wastewater rates for this area. The letter also states the communities of Cross River, Dos Rios, and Corte Bella are geographically distant and physically unconnected to the Agua Fria Water District and that they use the NW Valley Regional Water Reclamation Facility even though they are paying for the White Tank Facility. The letter ends with a series of questions which it requests the Commission to investigate). What were LD 22 legislators thinking? This helped bring higher Rates 4 SC & SCW. September 2017.)
It appears LD 22 legislators weren’t serving SCW but outside interests and when asked to make a public statement they refused, I hope this gets discussed in a future forum. My point is they attack one another, but don't respond to facts about records vs. comments they've made and their records vs. rhetoric caused the damage, but there's no defense for their records and don't want Voters Informed. www.Vote4Van.com
CD 8 candidate Clair Van Steenwyk: I got a new Push Poll in CD 8's Special Primary again Saturday evening. This Push poll was obvious in its attempt to drive voters from one candidate to another, with information even more damning statements made by the sponsor, yes I did say sponsor. The push poll remarks about a couple of candidates were almost word for word what I heard at the Candidate Forum today about Stump, and also included very damning remarks about the other two career politicians, which proved to me which candidate is concerned enough to finance this type of poll to gain advantage over the others mentioned in the poll. I'd never support him as this turns off the voters and most certainly should be stated in the light of day by the guy paying for it, not in some shadowy Push Poll. One question most people should ask themselves is “just how low will this guy stoop to gain office”, while trying to prove how conservative he is, guess that so called GOP 11th Commandment has lost its glow when a career is at risk. I'm not mentioned in it once again, but I do see the hypocrisy in this as the guy seems so kind publicly, but now there's political blood in the water and he's taken on the task of a SHARK, you know eats anything and everything, however this particular campaign is sinking to new lows. I wish more people would have attended the Forum in SCW today and then gotten the poll, as they'd have known very quickly by comments pointed at one candidate and then almost word for word repeated in the poll who's paying for it. I only hope & pray this guy loses or someone exposes him, however, since he's the only one without really bad comments made about him easy to figure out. By the way only named the 4 career candidates and then the term others for myself and everyone else, so looks like even though I'm in the forums he won't put my name in a poll as it might get voters to google me. www.Vote4Van.com
