He Draws The Lines: Sunday’s Comic

President Trump Vented His Anger with the Russia investigation late Saturday night and Sunday morning, declaring that “they are laughing their asses off in Moscow” over the ongoing probe into Moscow’s interference in the 2016 election. In a remarkable burst of tweets sent from his Mar-a-Lago estate, the president blamed the Obama administration for not doing enough to deter Russia and claimed he never denied the meddling took place — all while undercutting his own national security adviser who said Saturday that the interference is now “beyond dispute.” Read the full story here

Notes From Readers

Opinions expressed by readers are not necessarily those of the Briefs. Commentary running over 400 words is subject to editing. – ft

Connie Uribe, Yuma County PC: The link below, written a few years ago, was featured in one of the NRA 2nd Amendment Handbooks. Please read it. My view on this subject hasn't changed. When it comes to finding a solution to school shootings, I recommend putting a sign in the school yard saying "WE WILL USE DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT OUR STUDENTS AND FACULTY." emergency-response-to-gun-violence/

Rob Haney, former chairman of Arizona’s Maricopa County Republican Party, based in Phoenix, told The Wanderer that Republican elites, like Sen. John McCain, have never made a priority of stopping the tax funding, although they may use this talking point to gain money and voters. “McCain was even on former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman’s advisory board for her national organization, ‘It’s My Party Too’,” Haney said. “This cabal of Republicans in Name Only (RINOs) was formed to remove the pro-life and pro-family planks from the Republican platform. Although this effort was defeated, the viewpoints of the Republican elites have not changed. “Former Sen. Rick Santorum has stated that McCain sided with moderates in calling social-conservative positions on abortion and marriage divisive and prevented them from coming to the floor for a vote,” he said. “The RINOs have only toned down the hue on the color of their liberal stripes so they could more easily blend in with the conservative wave,” Haney said. “But when it comes to obtaining their goals, they are only too willing to give up conservative positions in order to ‘compromise’ and get ‘vital’ legislation passed. “I expect more caving on conservative issues by Speaker Paul Ryan and (Senate Majority) Leader Mitch McConnell. That is their M.O. And President Trump will sign the bills and claim victory because they are the best deals he can get from the swamp. We would be oh so proud if Republicans fought as hard for conservative issues as Democrats fight for liberal issues,” Haney said.

PC Francine Romesburg to anyone living in the Phoenix, Glendale, in the State of Arizona, please pay attention to the Law. For those idiots who are
- destroying candidate signs
- taking candidate signs down
- removing candidate signs
You Are Breaking The Law And Can Be Prosecuted For It! As long as signs are on the street corners, are NOT on private property, and are on easements alongside the streets /sidewalks, they are allowed. They are allowed in the median as well. So for instance those who live in Marshall Ranch along 59th Ave, and removed signs that were along the streets on the easement, you can be fined a very large fine for tampering with candidate campaign signs; those in Sun City area who may be destroying signs in the median, you can be fined and possibly go to jail; Any type of community development as long as signs are on outside main streets along the curb, sidewalk outside of walls, these signs are allowed. You are not to tamper in any way with those signs. They cannot be put on school property, hospital property, business’ except for easements that are city property. If you are not fond of, do not like a particular candidate, or whatever the reason, please voice your reason at the voting booth or with your early ballot by voting for the candidate of your choice. Please do not vote for another swamp politician is all I ask from a personal perspective. Research the candidate thoroughly from every perspective before voting. Contact:
Grassroots Tea Party Activists Francine RomesburgCQ & Steve Montenegro – NPV vote: I’ve known CQ and Steve for quite a few years. Both men are very good, honorable and decent human beings. However, that being said, HB2456 NPV on Feb 4, 2016 passed the House 40 to 16. Final Report P equals Primary’ sponsors.

CQ promoted NPV fooling these people. Said it was a good thing, not eliminating the Electoral College. Yet if memory serves me correctly when CQ spoke at our Tea Party 2015-2016 explaining NPV, think he said because of California, New York, and Texas, Democrats would have majority forever. We would never see a Republican in office again, especially Office of President. This confused me totally as I knew CQ to be a staunch Republican. CQ is also a paid lobbyist. He was paid quite a pretty penny to promote NPV & get it passed. Thank the good Lord, it got hung up in the Senate or we’d have President Clinton now vs President Trump.
CQ is Montenegro’s Campaign Manager & still calling the shots – Montenegro following like a good little puppy dog. Surprised at Steve’s claim he never heard of NPV. You figure it out. Understand from PCs in his District he’s missed almost 2 yrs of meetings. He didn’t show up at 2 Candidate Forums recently. A plea for money? Are they in trouble? Contact: Francine L Romesburg

Candidates Are Welcome to e-mail their announcements and a photo to Briefs at or for posting so readers can learn who the candidates are. Editor’s Note: Please keep announcement at 400 words. CD8 candidate Steve Montenegro’s wife Melissa: My husband is under serious attack. D.C. Liberals and establishment Republicans are doing everything they can to keep Steve from being successful. They’ve been launching push poll phone calls, accusing Steve of everything under the sun. Truth beats lies! Which is why we need to get more truth out. We need to raise $1,250 before the end of the day to do it. Steve’s about to release his final TV ad. Just one spot on TV costs $100 – and 200 views of the ad online costs just $12. Can you help? chip in Our political consultant has emailed you. Steve has emailed you. Now I’m emailing you. Please help us meet our goal.

Supt of Public Instruction candidate Frank Riggs: One of my opponents in the Republican Primary, whose strategy seems to be making wild accusations and name-calling, claims my statement in Briefs on the horrific school shooting in Parkland, FL “hits a new low” and that I’m “using the death and carnage in Florida to further (my) political ambition.”  I believe he attempted to use my statement to his political advantage.  He ended his attack by saying, “show one ounce of heart and some class riggs…please!”  Editor’s Note: Branch has NOT made this alleged statement in the Briefs. – ft Well I’ve got news for him: as someone who has confronted and arrested active shooters, including those who shot and shot at my fellow police officers, and had to comfort the victims of crime, and also tell parents that their children had died from an accident or act of violence, I’ve shown plenty of heart.  In fact, the hardest thing I ever had to do as a police officer was to tell a parent their child was dead.  That instinct to protect all children, the most innocent of victims, is ingrained in me from my years in law enforcement.  As someone who has worn the badge, worked the beat, had to deal with violence firsthand, and been there in many tragic situations, make no mistake that I relate and my heart goes out to the victims, their families, and the first responders in Parkland.
