2-8-18 Briefs

At 9:30 am., This Morning a legislative committee will address HB2012, that would limit the use of proxies at political meetings in Arizona. For years precinct and state committeemen have observed the “cowbells” carrying hands full of proxies into meetings so they can manipulate and control the vote on party leaders and issues. LDs have been in turmoil over the Establishment backed “cleansing” process that everyone knows is going on. Through the misuse of proxies, they have systematically driven numerous hard working, grassroots party workers and leaders out of most of the leadership roles.

Granted, there are exceptions when PCs/SC can’t make the county and state meetings due to health problems and distance, but it is doubtful that they reflect the hundreds of proxies carried to meetings the past few years. The problem is cowbells harvesting hands full of proxies in their LDs from “shadow” PCs who rarely, if ever, attend meetings - including their local LDs. Republican voters, who are fed with this crap or cannot attend this morning’s meeting, need to contact the legislators listed in the “Call to Action” below. Let them know that you are tired of the shenanigans and the party control freaks misusing proxies for their own agenda - namely power. This is not the first time that legislation has been proposed to control the misuse and abuse of proxy voting in Arizona, but legislators have buckled because they apparently fear the Establishment will target them at their next election. We cry out for Washington, DC to cleanse its swamp. We need to start at home. We got rid of the “ballot harvesting/stuffing.” It’s time for Arizona legislators to get rid of the “proxy harvesting” as well. The use and abuse of proxies for absentee voting at the district, county and state level of the Republican Party must stop.- ft

CALL TO ACTION: Legislative Alert: HB2012, a bill that is offered to amend ARS 16-828 to limit the use of proxies at Arizona Political meetings is scheduled for hearing AT 9:30 am., Thur., Feb 8, in Hearing Room 1 at the Arizona State Legislature, 1700 W Washington in Phoenix. Supporters of the anti-proxy legislation are urged to attend this hearing and make your voice heard - that it is time to bring an end to the use of unlimited proxies to control party meetings, said anti-proxy leader Richard Dicksion. The legislators that support this legislation need to know you stand behind them. If you cannot attend, let the legislators know you support the bill by giving them a call or send them an email. The legislators can be reached as follows:

Todd Cloddfelter    ` Tclodfelter@azleg.gov 602-926-4850

Doug Coleman       ` Dcoleman@azleg.gov 602-926-3160

Drew John Djohn@azleg.gov 602-926-5154

Bob Thorpe Bthorpe@azleg.gov 602-926-5219

Michelle B. Ugenti-Rita MUgenti-Rita@azleg.gov 602-926-4480

Please call and or email them requesting they support the Bill HB2012. This is important so that we can keep the effort to limit proxy use to a minimum. – Contact Dicksion at chie938@q.com

Gina Swoboda, Election Integrity: URGENT: A very bad, very dangerous bill has been introduced in the State House: HB2206, Early Voting, Voting Centers. This bill will allow Democrat County Recorder Fontes (and all 15 County Recorders), to utilize Early Voting procedures for ALL BALLOTS even those cast at the polls on Election Day. Even for voters who have not signed up for PEVL.  This is what Fontes did in the jurisdictional elections and we ABSOLUTELY DO NOT WANT THIS. This is an end run around a direct vote for ALL MAIL ELECTIONS which they know will not pass. Under this legislation, ballots cast on Election Day will NO LONGER be tabulated at the polls. This is also an end run around Voter ID, as ALL VOTERS ballots will be treated as Early Votes, i.e. placed in an envelope and a signature on an affidavit used as Proof of Identity. Please call and email ALL of our GOP legislators and ask them to vote No if this bill makes it out of committee. House: House Roster

Senate: SenateRoster Read bill here: bills/HB2206P Email info@AZEI.org with questions. Thank you!!!!

LD21 PC Randy Miller to CD8 candidate Phil Lovas: I apologize if I was incorrect on your use of public money for your campaigns, my mistake.  Good for you, and thank you. However, you did quit after running a campaign for the people of your district to accept a federal position with more pay.  You did quit that job shortly after making a commitment to work for them supporting small businesses.  I only question what your true intentions are and where your true commitment is.  I also understand from a other sources, that your family is involved with "Bundling Activities" for John McCain, even though he has been very critical of the president and not popular with republicans.  This is contradictory to your "commitment" to the president and our party.  But it pays well I assume.

Your "A" rating with the NRA obviously missed the contradiction in bills you supported as previously mentioned.  What part of ".... the right of the people to be armed shall not be infringed" is troubling you?  Including language in a bill (HB2103) that gives control over to the federal government to tax and regulate every aspect of our "Right" is not a worthy recipient of this award in my opinion.  The confusion comes from your sponsorship of a good bill (HB2517) that is just the opposite.  What was your motivation and confusion?  Either you support the Bill of Rights, or you don't.  Then there are the other issues I mentioned.  Did you get support for these or just do them on your own?  No one I talked to like these other bills or were aware they were being brought before the house. I am not attacking you as a person at all.  I am pointing out what myself and some others don't approve of as a legislator, contradiction of presidential support, and giving away of OUR rights under the second amendment.  Show us where the authority is under the constitution to do this.

PC Frank Carroll: The issue here is participation. First, the existing body of precinct committeeman does not represent a majority of the total number of committeeman seats available to this political party. Does this minority of precinct committeeman then actually represent the total body of registered Republican voters to the party? Second, there are several major senior communities that are predominately Republican in their life blood. For many of them the “chronological mileage” has a way of limiting their physical participation which the proxy overcomes. Limiting proxy in this manner may inadvertently discriminate against the very people who have been lifelong participating conservatives. For the sake of the non-puppet seniors who entrust the physically capable to carry their vote, I must stand in opposition to this bill. – Carroll is the Blue Sky Precinct Captain, Area Director Grand West

LD20 Senate candidate Charles A Loftus, Ph.D is curtailing the run for State House LD-20 and announces his candidacy for State Senate LD-20. Loftus is an Arizona native, born in Nogales and raised in Phoenix.  He entered law enforcement after high school and has been an Arizona law enforcement officer for over 30 years, having served with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Arizona State University Police, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the Office of Inspector General at DES.  He earned his Ph.D. in Public Administration with an emphasis on Criminal Justice Public Policy (police and public corruption) from Arizona State University.  He also earned a Master in Public Administration with an emphasis on organizational behavior and public policy analysis from Arizona State University.
He became an instructor with the Arizona State University School of Criminology and Criminal Justice teaching counter-terrorism, domestic terrorism, intelligence, and research methods.  He is the director of an intensive study abroad program through ASU that takes students to Israel to learn about counter-terrorism, Islamic fascism, jihadism, martyrdom and emergency responses to terrorism.

Loftus has witnessed firsthand how Arizona government has worked and at times failed its citizens.  Over the years, he has had to implement what previous legislators enacted.  He has been witness to the many faults and corruption within Arizona government and it is something he passionately wants to change, to improve.  He believes that there is an effort in this country that is dedicated to restoring our Constitution and the Bill of Rights and he strongly feels that he can contribute to it.  He feels that in this way, he can help his neighbors in LD20 where he and his family have lived for the last 25 years.  He would describe himself as a Republican Conservative with very pro law and order leanings.  He would like to help expose and eliminate corruption in government.  Like you, he is fed up with politicians that say anything to get elected then support the lobbyist who provides them the most. Please go to the “Loftus 2018” website at http://www.loftus4az.com .  There’s lots more information there.  He is an Arizonan who is tough, smart and passionate about Arizona.  He's a true conservative and not a political insider.  He's also the most qualified to work for his district and state.
