NOTES FROM READERS

Opinions expressed by readers are not necessarily those of the Briefs. Commentary running over 400 words is subject to editing. Briefs posts candidate announcements, but does not endorse candidates, nor do we post endorsement statements. ft.

Political Activist Lolly Hathhorn:  Saw the Cindy-And-Meghan-McCain article They can say whatever they want about my president Donald J. Trump and it still does not make it not be what it is; i.e., John McCain did do thumbs down.  He should have voted as a Republican!  As to the boo-hoo cry me a river rhetoric, it has nothing to do with McCain’s illness.  If he had done the right thing, sick or not, nobody would have any need to defend him.  Why can he not be criticized just because he is ill?  Did President Trump lie about what he said about McCain?  NO!!  John McNasty is not a saint and should not act as if he is.  The ladies of the family have every right to defend him.  I just don’t understand what they are defending or why.  Since being ill, McNasty has not kept his mouth shut in going after my President.  I am disappointed that it has come to this for them to go after my President.  I think McCain needs to resign and just stay home and get well!  God Bless America, my President, Donald J. Trump and all of the NRA members.  MAGA!

archie dicksionPC Archie Dicksion: I had an opportunity to read and article posted in the Briefs yesterday by or on behalf of State Treasurer Jeff DeWit. The post contain the following statement “ State Trust Land and the permanent Endowment Fund were established by Congress when Arizona became a state and are governed by the Arizona Constitution.” A portion of that statement is true, and a portion of it is in my humble opinion totally incorrect. That portion of the statement that the Trust is governed by the Arizona Constitution is simply not true. In the Enabling Act which created the State of Arizona, the federal government transferred land owned by the federal government to the future State of Arizona land to be held by the state in trust for the benefit of “COMMON SCHOOLS”. The state does not now nor has it ever owned the land or the proceeds from the sale of the land. Those lands and the sale proceeds are owned by the federal government subject to the rights of the beneficiaries which are current and future school children in the state. The Treasurer has no power of the lands and the funds other than to their possession, the right to make them profitable and pay the income produced to school system for the benefit of ‘“COMMON SCHOOLS”. In Arizona by statute, a common school is grades 1-8 and sometimes up to grand 9. It does not include kindergarten or grades 10, 11 and 12. Only the U.S. Congress with the consent of the TRUST BENEFICIARIES being current and future school children can change the terms of the Trust. Anyone that violates the provisions of that trust be it the governor, Legislature,Treasurer, Board of Investment or the public could POSSIBLY be held personally responsible to the future trust beneficiaries for any misapplication of the principal of the trust as was done by Prop 123. Consider, if you own property and place it into trust, who owns the property, you or the Trustee to whom you delivered the property to manage?

clyde bowmanAAARC Chairman Clyde Bowman: Thank you Frosty for publishing our 6th Annual EPOD/History Month Event. This year was Special. The audience was from Carefree and right across the street, Glendale, and Tempe & of course, Phoenix. Everywhere. 12 Speakers were assembled this year. 12 Apostles of Conservative Republican Principles. They riffed on freedom, human trafficking & American (Black) history. They got passionate, then they got personal, speaking about the importance of the themes to them & us. Heart felt sniffles are usually not heard at a R oriented meet, but, not one speaker “ mailed it in“. This event was moving in a way that would make Foundation Republicans proud. EPOD6 was a “happening“ & due to popular demand SEVEN is on!! “ FIVE FOR SEVEN “. Each person who is alignment with the AAARC brings 5 people to EPOD7, Feb 2019. We put event on our #AAARC and #Clyde Bowen. Thank you speakers, thank you attendees, thank you most valuable volunteers, thank you Chairman Chucri, Remember our AAARC commitment. We are Family!

we harrisLD20 PC/SC Wes Harris to US Rep David Schwiekert: I approached you and your office some months ago about the genocide taking place in South Africa where the majority black population are, with impunity, murdering the white population at a rate of 60 per week and you have chosen to turn a blind eye toward helping these people emigrate to the U.S. just because they have the 'wrong' color skin.  Now things have turned even worse... South-Africa-Votes-Seize-Redistribute-White-Owned-Land-Without-Compensation- meanwhile the State Department is giving this regime millions of our tax dollars.  Why????

David SchweikertMy question:  Is this now proof enough to declare these people refugees and allow them into this country even though they are not people of color?  As my representative to Congress, I expect you to take this ball and run with it.  If not, then I suggest you come up with a very good reason that I should not shout your failure from the house tops. Looking forward to hearing from you. My church too has chosen to turn a blind eye while nurturing black 'refugees' from The Congo. I have approached them to help and they too have done nothing.  If this continues, I will be forced to make a real issue of it and leave the church if I have to.  I feel strongly that Jesus does not take kindly to this type of inaction. Hoping that you turn that staff we pay handsomely for on to this problem. If South Africa's economy goes the way all of the other countries taken over by an inept management team that has 'the right colored skin' the entire continent of Africa will sink into an abyss of debt and starvation and the West will be inundated with a flood of even more "refugees" of all Colors. I believe that very soon I will have jobs for these 'refugees'.

Brian Reilly, Former LD22PC: From the March 1, 2018, edition of Breitbart: President Trump said, “…take the guns first, go through due process second.” (1.) So there you have it. This is the same Donald Trump who said he was pro-gun rights, and pro NRA, and pro-national reciprocity for Concealed Carry Permit holders, and he told us during his many campaign speeches that I will never lie to you.” Trump’s disheartening gun-control statement comes after the tragic Florida school shooting by an unhinged individual and during a subsequent meeting with anti-gun Democrats while attempting to allegedly find common ground. Banning certain firearms while sacrificing “due process,” is not finding common ground, Mr. President. You are attempting to sacrifice our constitutional rights at the altar of gun-control bipartisanship, simply to work out a deal with far left Democrats and Republicans who loathe you. That is not what it means to swear an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. Mr. President, turning your back on your faithful political base, which includes members of the NRA, may simply be a pragmatic ploy on you part to make it look like you’re getting something done in an effort to appease the anti-gun crowd. But, if your plan is successful, you will alienate much of your political base. Mr. President, I predict that if your efforts to ban certain firearms, while bypassing or postponing due process, and delaying national reciprocity is successful, you will quickly become the best salesman for firearm ownership in America since Barack Obama. You will also lose your 2020 bid for reelection if you turn on the people who gave you their vote and their trust in 2016. Are we now seeing the real Donald Trump? (1.)
