LD24 PC Timothy Lee: I have served on many Republican Party Bylaws committees throughout Arizona, as well as, the AZGOP. Most PC’s agree that there have been Proxy carrying abuses in the system for many years. LD24 in central Phoenix, has historically been a cauldron for Proxy abuse to keep phantom PC’s active on paper, but they are no show’s who, then always vote via Proxy. It is a travesty. Therefore, I wholeheartedly support HB2012 by the Legislature, so that this issue is openly debated, passed and codified.

Activist Ron Gosselin: HB1012 has to pass. Stop the septic tank stuff.

Butch Kuentzler: President AZRA West Chapter: On Saturday February 17 at the monthly meeting of the AZRA West Chapter, the following resolution was voted on and passed by 100%. Subject: motion in 17 Feb 2018 West Valley Chapter Meeting, It was moved by Lyle Tuttle that the West Valley AZRA Chapter recommends to the Board as follows:
     1.  Recommendation that all "auto-payments" to any and all items not DIRECTLY under the CONTROL of the AZRA BOD be terminated immediately;
     2.  That, based on the information received here this morning, we issue a vote of "No Confidence" to Ardith Hildebrant as Treasurer, and
     3.  She be removed as a member in good standing in AZRA;, and
     4.  That we REMOVE Lynne Breyer from ANY positions of leadership AND REMOVE her from membership in AZRA.

Motion carried with a unanimous vote.

Lynne Breyer, AZRA Interim President: "Resigned means you are gone." We couldn't stop laughing at the lengthy drivel sent in by Jim Dutton. This is the same tired detritus he's been trying to sell for two months. It's simply a retread of what he couldn't sell to the Board of Directors of AZRA which is why they voted against his, DeLa Fuente and Steiner's efforts to get rid of the treasurer. He can't sell it to AZRA members, either. They are smart enough to know when he needed 1500 words to say "they lied," there is nothing there. There is nothing there! The BOD of AZRA rejected their reasoning... YUGEly! They think you don't know what "I resign" means, but of course, you do. It took less than one minute for each of them in turn to clearly cheers: Dutton, Steiner, DeLa Fuente in that order. Forty witnesses, one audio recording, one video recording can't be wrong!

Richard Breyer To Jim Dutton - You make a huge mistake in calling Lynne Breyer a liar. Lynne has her faults like you and all of us have. But when she says something, you can take it to the bank. She does a lot of research and knows what she is talking about.  A decent man would publish an apology to her for the nasty things you said that have no basis in fact.  I have been witness to this whole sordid affair you have cooked up and every word she wrote is correct to the letter. Strange. coming from someone who I personally heard resign from AzRA.  I'm waiting for an apology if you are any kind of man.

Tassie Small Campaign HeadshotsLD25 PC/SC Itasca Small - Education/Constitution Activist on Diane Douglas’ Commentary 3-5-18 Briefs , omits and/or misrepresents crucial facts. And, the “Common Core” Agenda still infects our Statutes and requirements for every traditional and “charter” public school in Arizona. Kudos to Activist Jennifer Reynolds and her “Top 5 Reasons Common Core Remains in Arizona!” 3-6-18 Briefs “The rest of the story” highlights:

January - April 1, 2015 - Two, at-will, political appointee, DoE employees lawfully fired for cause—A.R.S. 41-101—by SPI Douglas’ Chief of Staff, Michael Bradley. Governor Gov Doug Ducey 2015 2Doug Ducey usurps judicial power; declaring the former employees reinstated. Fight to eviscerate the office of SPI begins, via SB1038 & HB2184 Ward Amendment. We, the People, win the Battle in 2015! SPI Douglas had statutory and constitutional grounds upon which to fight the governor. She used the excuse of avoiding the expense to taxpayers of a protracted legal battle; instead, colluding with the governor’s office and legislative leadership, in creation of said legislation. [Elected individuals cannot change constitutional entities’ natures without the consent of the People, via constitutional amendment: Article XXI, AZ Constitution.]

Andy BiggsMarch 7, 2015 - Senate Pres. Andy Biggs, submits unconstitutional Amendment to General Appropriations Bill, SB1469; purporting to change the nature of the SBE—an “it” under the SPI!—to a “state agency” under the governor! unconstitutionally creating the current pseudo- SBE.

March 23, 2015 - Gov. Ducey usurped power from the legislature; “mandating” the SBE review every “standard” (CC) to fix or retain, as needed; keeping his campaign “promise.” He did NOT say he’d get rid of CC! Breitbart News dubbed this Republican Governors’ CC-protecting tactic, “Smoke & Mirrors!”

April 27, 2015 - Review-policy unconstitutionally created by pseudo-SBE and governor’s staff, is unconstitutionally adopted by SBE.

October 26, 2015 - Reversal of SBE adoption of CC nullified by invoking SBE “power to add, delete or modify those standards,” with Second CC Rebrand in-process.

February - May, 2016 - New SPI evisceration bills: SB1313 & SB1416, defeated in the House! SPI Douglas refuses to consider backing viable, proposed legislation that would have constitutionally clarified SPI authority & SBE advisory role; pointing to proper legislative and gubernatorial duties. In the last days, SPI Douglas again colludes with the governor’s office and legislature; unconstitutionally eviscerating the office of SPI, via amendment to HB2620!

December 19, 2016 - SPI Douglas angrily calls-for acceptance of her “Lipsick on a Pig,” Second CC Rebrand! Begins public campaign claiming to have “Stopped Common Core in Arizona!”

scottASDA Board Members Respond To Supt of Public Instruction Diane Douglas’s ‘Killing Common Core Standards” 3-5-18 Briefs archives -- Scott Leska, Amphitheater Public School District Board Member and Arizona Standards Development Committee Chairman (ASDC) ; Jared Taylor  Vice Chair of ASCD; and ASCD parent members Shawnna Bolick and Olga Tarro:

Earlier this week SPI Douglas submitted a timeline about her involvement in Common Core to readers.  SPI Douglas omitted a key date (Dec 14, 2016) and information about the responsibilities of the AZ Standards Development Committee (ASDC) created with the exclusive direction of Governor Ducey.

Governor Ducey was more specific in his directions on March 23, 2015 about reviewing and replacing Common Core than shared by SPI Douglas.

March 23, 2015:  Ducey spoke to the SBE.  (SPI Douglas was not present for this meeting as she was in Washington DC working on AZ's NCLB waiver.) Ducey was responding to legislation that recently failed to remove Common Core from AZducey-remarks In part he said:  " I am opposed to Common Core...I'm calling on this Board to make right this situation....Begin reviewing English Language Arts and Math Standards in their entirety ...with full transparency...with input from people at all levels of education from every corner of the state...And at any instance during your review, you find situations where Arizona standards can outperform or improve our current standards, I ask you to recommend replacement immediately."

Ducey directed the creation of the 17 member Arizona Standards Development Committee (ASCD) made up of teachers, superintendents, parents, and community members to oversee the review of the Math and ELA standards and to make a recommendation to the State Board of Ed. The ASDC met for 18 months.  Douglas omitted references to the ASDC's final meeting, the recommendation, and her vote at that meeting on Dec 14, 2016

Dec 14, 2016, the ASDC was allotted a 3 hour meeting to discuss the hundreds of standards (with 1,000’s of pages of print) for all of K-12 for Math and English Language Arts.  Staff presented for approximately 2 1/2 hours.  That left 30 minutes for the ASDC to discuss the standards amongst themselves and to ask staff questions.  Douglas and her staff purposely ensured that this was the first and only meeting where any discussion of the final standards was planned.  Staff emailed the final standards to the ASDC members on Dec 4, 2016.  The majority of the ASDC was alarmed that so little time was allotted to discuss all the standards and voted 8-7 to delay approving any current recommendation of the presented standards to the SBE until at least January 2017.  As you can imagine, SPI Douglas voted against the majority, and wanted the proposed standards to be approved, keeping 95% of the Common Core Standards intact.  Her vote was to ensure that the failed Common Core experiment stay in Arizona without any further discussion.  Here is the Motion and Vote:  ASCD dec-14-2016-AZ-standards

This action was to allow at least one additional month for the public to view, and the committee to discuss the final recommendations prior to any State Board of Education final acceptance/rejection. However, A few days later, on Dec 19th, 2016, the State Board of Ed ignored the and adopted the standards which third parties acknowledge are virtually identical to Common Core. See map tracking

In fact, within weeks after the State Board of Education’s decision to keep Douglas’ proposal for acceptance of the new state K-12 standards, school boards across the state were provided guidance that there was no need to change any of the current text books that they are currently using. This was because textbook companies stated that the English Language Arts and Mathematics textbooks already comply with the Common Core curriculm established by the state. Therefore, Common Core is still alive and well in Arizona. -  By:Scott Leska  Chairman of Arizona Standards Development Committee (ASDC)

Diane Douglas Supt of Ed Superintendent of Public Instruction Diane Douglas is encouraging potential teachers to attend the 2018 Great Arizona Teach-In Job Fair between 9 am-1 pm., Sat., March 10 at the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel and Spa. The job fair will be hosted by the Exceptional Student Services Division of the Arizona Department of Education (ADE). “As I have traveled around the state to almost 60 locations on my ‘We Are Listening Tours,’” Superintendent Douglas said, “I have heard unanimously from Arizonans of all walks of life that we need to pay our teachers more and find a solution to our teacher shortage crisis. Events such as the 2018 Great Arizona Teach-In Job Fair are incredible opportunities to help effectively address some of those concerns.” 116 traditional district, charter and private schools will attend Saturday’s job fair, as well as several other educational entities. At last year’s event, 59 educators were hired right on the spot, while 88 in total were hired directly from the job fair. A fingerprinting service, resume reviewers, as well as representatives from ADE will be on hand to counsel attendees on becoming a certified teacher in Arizona. The attending schools will be able to issue letters of intent and job offers to prospective teachers pending background checks. “If you are a teacher in need of work or a school in need of teachers,” the Superintendent continued, “there is no better place to be this weekend than the job fair. It is free for prospective teachers to attend and you can literally walk away from the event having changed your life and the lives of your potential students for the better in one day.”  To register or learn more information about the 2018 Great Arizona Teach-In Job Fair, please visit Media interested in attending should email or call the press contact listed above.
