Activist James Alberts: Great articles written by Lolly Hathhorn and Jeff GreenspanJeff Greenspan about John McCain. As I'm sure you know the city of Phoenix name the newly remodeled terminal three at Sky Harbor Airport in honor of McCain. Is it possible that the City of Phoenix could obtain a copy of the propaganda tape McCain made while he was a P.O.W, and that it could be played on the P.A. System in the airport for everyone to hear? To my knowledge he was one of over 500 P.O.W.s held and the only one to make such propaganda tapes, is that true?

Don and Patti Woolley of Sahuarita: You are doing fabulous work, Frosty!

boe jamesLD23 PC Boe James: Frosty, I totally disagree with Nancy Plencner and her plea in the 5-14-18-briefs I urge all Fountain Hills registered voters to vote YES on the Primary Property Tax issue.  In voting YES, they will be voting the same as all Council members, both Mayoral candidates, most past Mayors, most past council members as well as the current Mayor Linda Kavanaghlinda kavanagh and her husband, State Senator John Kavanagh. Senator Kavanagh has never been one known to authorize or endorse unnecessary spending or taxes.  In fact, he is often accused of just the opposite, cutting taxes too much and cutting spending too much.  Fountain Hills is one of the very few towns without a primary property tax and even after this tax goes into effect will still be one of the lower taxed communities. I urge all residents who have not yet John Kavanagh 23 Pres Pro Trempore Senvoted to study the issue by going to the Town's website or to or the "Save Our Town"'s Facebook page at Save-Our-Town-Fountain-Hills Many prominent Republicans support the vote to establish the primary property tax to maintain and fix roads and other infrastructure, to pay for law enforcement and fire protection and other necessary town functions/responsibilities. Nancy Plencner and I have extensively debated the question of the primary property tax and have agreed to remain friends despite the disagreement on this subject.  Her vote will cancel out mine, so I hope that more people VOTE YES with me and Senator and Mayor Kavanagh.

dave kopp 2Arizona Citizens Defense League AzCDL Update: Online Candidate Petitions – This is election year with the primary scheduled for August 28 and the general election set for Nov 6. Candidates for political office in Arizona need to gather over 500 signatures to get on the ballot.  You can help your favorite candidates get there without having to leave home.
In Arizona, candidates running for federal, statewide, or legislative office may now collect 100% of their required nomination petition signatures (all candidates) or $5 Qualifying Contributions (publicly-funded candidates only) through the Secretary of State's
E-Qual system. E-Qual enables eligible voters to electronically sign petitions or make contributions. The easiest way you can help candidates of your choice is to sign their campaign petition online using the E-Qual system.   Start at the Secretary of State's Voter Authentication page. After providing information to verify your existing voter registration and current address you will be directed to a page of available candidate petitions that you can sign.  A few mouse clicks and you're done.  Please remember to ask your spouse and family members to sign also. Time is running out.  The deadline for filing petitions is May 30. Not a registered voter?  Arizona residents can register online here: - Chr Dave Knopp

Lori Klein 2Lori Klein Corbin: Arizona’s Republican National Committeewoman - Since learning that RedForEd founders are leftist agitators, it became clear this is a political move making demands that would never satisfy the union thugs who are driving a narrative that isn’t based in fact.

The Governor, nor the legislature can mandate nor promise a pay raise for teachers. This is done by boards at the individual school district level. Time and again we have provided funds for education to only find that the teachers have been last to receive compensation or none at all.

It is troubling that our teachers do not know who provides their salaries and raises? If that is the education level of our teachers, we have a problem. Either there is willful ignorance on the part of the teachers or they have been lied to by those who organized this effort by using the parents, teachers and children to reach a political end. If educators have no clue as to who provides their salaries, why are they demonstrating at the Capitol for something that only their school boards and school districts can approve?

Our governor hoped that Proposition 123 would guarantee a pay increase for teachers but neither he nor the legislature can guarantee such increases. Some teachers said they were threatened if they didn’t protest and they faced losing their jobs. I am sure not every teacher feels it is right or moral to walk out on their classroom responsibilities. To be threatened needs to be investigated.

Where are all the so-called investigative reporters who should be getting to the bottom of this charade? The media has joined with a leftist group and teachers unions using intimidation and to bully and weaken a Republican governor. They are already saying the increase is not enough and they want more.

We all want the best education system and to reward good teachers and good outcomes. Maybe we should consider consolidating our over 230 school districts with a state wide curriculum and one buying authority for K-12 public schools like Texas. You would save millions. But, we think that local control is the best way to go. We want the highest and most innovative standards (phonics and basic math) and to not treat our children like they are in a petri dish and experiment on them with all kinds of ideas including Common Core and revisionist history which is still in place in many districts.

My kids were in Valley Academy, in a charter school, until they reached 8th grade. They thrived, wore uniforms, had strict discipline, and all were testing out two years ahead of our government schools. I was deeply grateful for that opportunity even if it was a hardship to drive them a half hour back and forth each day. It was well worth it. We need parental choice and transparency in education. Each school district should be accountable to the taxpayers and parents immediately by putting their budges online for all to see. Our children should not be used by a political organization that is trying to hurt not help the problem and have lied to parents, children and teachers for their own nefarious reasons.

cathi herrodCAP President Cathi Herrod: The Center for Arizona Policy’s 2018 Family Issues Voting-Records provides a quick and easy look at how legislators voted on life, marriage and family, and religious freedom in the 2018 legislative session. Click here to find out how your legislators voted on these CAP-supported bills:

· Enhancing abortion reporting requirements (SB 1394; sponsor: Sen. Barto)

· Giving in vitro embryos a better chance at life (SB 1393; sponsor: Sen. Barto)

· Finding forever homes for babies born in dangerous circumstances (SB 1473; sponsor, Sen. Barto)

· Ensuring fair treatment for charter and private schools (HB 2460 and HB 2461; sponsor: Rep. Leach)

· Protecting First Amendment rights on college campuses (HB 2563; sponsor: Rep. Boyer)

· Allowing homeschool students to get college credit in dual enrollment classes (HB 2536; sponsor: Rep. Bowers)

To find out who your legislators are, click here. Arizona families are the big winners this legislative session. All seven of the CAP-supported bills listed above were passed by the legislature and signed into law by Governor Ducey. In addition, CAP was involved in securing funding for nonprofit organizations serving homeless pregnant women (excluding entities that promote, refer or perform abortions) (SB 1520), and ensuring that abortion regulations are not weakened through the reduction of occupational licensing barriers (SB 1273).

75 Bad Bills Defeated: Over 75 “bad bills” were introduced during the 2018 legislative session undermining life, marriage and family, and religious freedom. For example:

· Legalizing doctor-prescribed death

· Eliminating over thirty pro-life statutes and provisions by removing regulations and restrictions on abortion

· Prohibiting professional counselors and mental health professionals from helping minors with unwanted same-sex attraction and gender identity issues

· Expanding state lottery games

· Allowing a person to select “nonbinary” as their gender on their driver’s license and requiring death certificates to record the decedent’s sex to reflect decedent’s gender identity

· Restricting school choice programs

· Adding sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes under the state’s employment, housing, and public accommodations laws. These types of laws have been used to punish business owners wanting to live and work according to their faith and not go along with the “sexual revolution.” For examples, see Masterpiece Cakeshop, Arlene’s Flowers, Hands on Originals, and Brush & Nib.

The good news is that all these bills were defeated . . . this year.

Paul Gosar 2016Congressman Paul Gosar: The United States’ military engagements since the passage of the 2001 and 2002 AUMFs lack sufficient congressional oversight regarding the United States’ use of force. Last week, I joined my colleagues in signing a letter to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations expressing our concern and opposition to a new authorization for the use of military force (AUMF) legislation that would allow all current military operations to continue with no new constraints.

CD4 Congressman Paul Gosar: Last week, I spoke with German members of parliament, the European Union, and the German administration about taxes and migration. I also spoke with Hungarian Ambassador Laszlo Szabo, M.D. on border fencing. Hungary's border fence stretches 100 miles and is patrolled by soldiers, dogs, and 3,000 border police. According to Hungarian authorities, the wall has effectively shut off the main migrant route, police arrested only five undocumented immigrants last month, compared with 3,528 before the fence existed in March 2016.
