Marianne Ferrari LD20 PC and State Committeeman – Open Letter to Supt of Public Instruction candidate Frank Riggs: Frank Riggs 4I realize you are engaged in a competitive race for election. So, I don’t fault you for being miffed, after a less-than-perfect experience at a tea party meeting where you were invited to speak. Under the pressure of a campaign, it’s easy--and only human--to forget, at times, that it’s not all about you. However, I must point out to you that publicly calling out Francine Romesburg and her Grassroots Tea Party is a bit over the top, 1-9-18-Briefs. when anyone who knows Francine would also know, without a doubt, that no slight was intended. The Grassroots TP is one of the last tea parties still operating and has a darn good track record for attendance, despite the fact we are now well into the “post-tea party” era. Francine Romesburg keeps the group going because, as a patriot, it is important to her to do so. If she invites you to speak at her meeting, you can bet the invitation is sincere. As active conservatives all know, attendance at any tea party meeting can be spotty, these days. It has nothing to do with who’s speaking. Frank, with all due respect to your justifiable disappointment, you owe Francine Romesburg an apology.

Francine Romesburg Rebuttal To Frank Riggs: Sorry to read Frank Riggs version of 9/20/17 speaking engagement.  Frank spoke at our Tea Party once before when he ran for Governor.  Our flyer/website says 6-8:30 pm for quite some time without incidence.  I ensure I reference doors open 6, meeting 6:30, speaker around 7. Frank showed up around 6?  I was setting up and saying ‘hi’ to people as they came in.  Said ‘hi’ to Frank.  Believe he asked what time we started - I said around 6:30.  I never told Frank we start at 6 pm. My husband greeted and spoke with Frank as I was talking to another individual who asked to meet Frank Riggs. I turned to introduce him to her, he was already introducing himself and speaking to her. At some point, I noticed Frank on his cell phone.  Not thinking much of it started the meeting– invocation/pledge. We don’t always start exactly at 6:30. I generally wait a little for late comers. We enjoy and learn at the same time. Was ready to introduce the speaker when I didn’t see him - anywhere.  I asked others if they saw Frank.  Was told they saw him on his cell; saw him walk outside, others thought they saw him leave.  We looked for him, couldn’t find him – thought he was called out in an emergency. I looked for a phone # for Frank. Received text msg from Frank- msg said no one acknowledged him when he came in; thought we started at 6, left to go where he felt his time would be more productive. Kim Fisher came sometime after 7 to hear Frank speak.  We told her he left. We talked with Kim and invited her to speak. At no time was I ‘intentionally’ rude to Frank.  That’s not who I am.  We’ve always been congratulated on our Tea Party, how we conduct them, treat the speakers, the people attending.  People who know me know I would never treat anyone rude especially a speaker.  Email to Frank afterwards said, “I would assume you would have read flyer and email and website for the info.  It says right on the flyer – doors open at 6; meeting at 6:30.  So if you misinterpreted the time, I’m sorry. Have a great week Frank.  Wish you well in your endeavors.” We even paid for Frank’s coffee he ordered and left without paying for .

Monica YelinActivist John Powelson: I know Monica Yelin; she is an American Citizen and proud of it. She has been an outspoken supporter of President Trump and his candidacy from the very early days of his campaign. I am happy to say that I believe she would be an excellent At Large Representative of the Republican Party to encourage Hispanics and everyone else to participate in the process of Making America Great Again. See Watchabecallums Republicans Poised To Elect MAL Officers

archie dicksionArchie Dicksion: As most of you know I have submitted a Resolution limiting the use of proxies at Arizona Republican Party meetings. What you may not know is that there were three other resolutions on the same subject matter submitted.  All of them were denied by the Resolutions Committee at the meeting last Saturday. There was no explanation as to why they were rejected. Today, I sent the following communication to Chairman Barry Wong seeking to clarify why the resolution was rejected and that it will be before the committee as a whole on January 27th. There is little doubt in my mind that the resolutions will not be scheduled for a hearing at the meeting. In my humble opinion, there are too many people on the committee that reach their position by the use of unlimited proxy voting.

Barry WongTo LD24 Chairman Barry Wong, chairman of both the MCR and AZGOP Resolution Committees for their January Mandatory meetings. I just want to be clear on your email to me declaring that my proposed resolution was rejected. That email included the following; Proxy Limits; Archie Dicksion; FAILED - NO MOTION OFFERED.  Could you please explain what you mean by FAILED - NO MOTION OFFERED. That is not a provision set forth in our Bylaws and therefore has not meaning to me. As a person who submitted a proposed resolution, I was not invited to this meeting to make any motion in support of my resolution. It is also not clear from your email whether all of the proposed resolutions including mine that was rejected by the committee will be on the agenda to be voted upon by the committee at large. As I have pointed out to you before, the last sentence of Article III, Section H, Paragraph 2 provides as follows: "All resolutions submitted to the committee shall be sent with the committee’s recommendations and vote count to each state committeeman with the notice of call of the meeting”. This clearly indicates that the Resolution submitted is to be voted upon by the committee as a whole and the determination of the Resolutions Committee is merely advisory. There were four (4) resolutions submitted for the reduction of proxies an individual can carry to any meeting. There is no explanation of why they were all or any one of them was rejected by the committee. It would seem to me that the committee as a whole is entitled to an explanation of why the committee voted to reject these resolutions. You know as well as do the majority of State Committeemen and Precinct Committeemen that there is a gross misuse of proxies in voting. Of the eleven (11) western states, the Arizona Republican Party is the only one to allow for unlimited carriage of proxies to meetings. Your assistance in providing an explanation for the rejection of these resolutions will be greatly appreciated.

Bruce Piepho - Sierera VistaBruce M Piepho Cochise State Committeeman/PC: Who does the State Republican party belong to? The State committeemen/women? or The Precinct Committeemen/women? or the AZGOP elected officers? Or Senator John McCain? NONE of the above! The state party is our Republican registered neighbor voters. We represent them and serve them. The Arizona State Republican Party commonly referred to as AZGOP is unduly influenced by Arizona senators and the elite establishment to the point of being under their control. AZGOP officers are not representing the State Committeemen/women. And the State Committeemen/women are not representing the Precinct Committeemen/women. SO who is representing our republican registered voters? - NO ONE! The truth is the fractured AZGOP has been broken for many, many years. I have been an AZ resident since November 2010. Research has uncovered corruption, unresolved contested elections, unprecedented censorship of a senator leading to purging Tea Party and conservative PCs – the list goes on and on. When does it stop? Some say the recall Lines effort split the AZGOP. Truth is the party has been filled with dissension for many years. The biggest problem based on the biggest lie is McCain. McCain is not a hero. McCain all by himself nearly sank a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier. He did a dumb punk attention getting trick by doing a “wet start” up of his jet. This stunt and aftermath caused the death of 134 sailors. The excessive McCain influence dates back well before I moved to Arizona in 2010. Former Arizona Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen displayed a McCain banner at the Republican national Convention in St. Paul, MN, Sept 1, 2008. The McCain interference continued after Tom Morrissey was elected AZGOP Chairman. The McCain operatives asked Tom to fire the entire AZGOP staff so they could replace them with supportive to McCain people. Tom said NO! The McCain influence must end. AZGOP Chairman Jonathan Lines hired a McCain PAC director Matthew Kenney, and a McCain lawyer. John-McCain-is-no-hero/ arizona-republican: take-guns-away-blacks-they-are-main-killers The worst of 2017 and 2018 is the fiasco process to change the AZGOP bylaws.

Clair Van Steenwyk: The Sun City West Republican Club wishes to express our thanks to the Supt. of Public Instruction candidates who took part in the Jan. 6th Candidate Forum and to let them know that our members feedback was very positive. Thank you to Bob "Dr. Bob" Branch, Supt. Diane Douglas, Jonathan Gelbert, Tracy Livingston, and Frank Riggs. They're all looking forward to the candidates running for other offices.

Diane Andersen: Leisure World Republican Club: God bless you for all you do and for being so kind to the members of our club. Just a note, Jim O’ Conner is PAST president of AZRA. It would be great to see you at one of our annual meetings!

Arizona Town Crier Jim Ehl: For months there have been critical remarks from many about the AZ GOP bylaws update actions. In all that time, there hasn’t been any justification or rationale’ from the state chairman, nor his non-elected side kick; or any justification for this violation of the AZ GOP bylaws.  The same applies to the debt the AZ GOP incurred; nor how it was paid!  In this week’s MCRC Briefs there were more negative reader comments about how the bylaws thing is being handled.  If one doesn’t receive the MCRC Briefs just say so and there will be a copy sent to you.

Heavy is the hand that holds the gavel!  Basically, the AZ GOP bylaws gives the state chair all the authority to do just about whatever he/she wants, with no repercussions for violating the bylaws.  Has any state chair ever wanted to change that???   All the while the State Committee (and PCs) and their chairs wallow in their own apathy. Let the power of the gavel be known.  The current bylaws state: “B. Method of Amending Bylaws An amendment to these bylaws may be proposed at any meeting called in accordance with these bylaws. A copy of the proposed amendment together with a statement explaining the purpose to be achieved and the reasons in support thereof shall be mailed to each member by the secretary with the notice of call for that meeting. A two-thirds vote of the members present in person or by proxy shall be necessary to pass any motion to amend. “  And this is in the AZGOP bylaws: “3. Mandatory Meeting Unless otherwise determined by the Chairman, the order of business for mandatory meetings shall be:...”   Be aware that the chair may try to preclude any thing he doesn’t like in the ‘Order of business!’

Ode to some of the Arizona County Chairmen (Paraphrased from  German Lutheran Pastor Martin Niemöller)  Who has the ‘;backbone’; to organize the county chairs to represent WE THE PEOPLE??

‘First they came for the Socialists, PCs and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist. Precinct Committeeman.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists,  SCs and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.  State Committeeman.

Then they came for the Jews,  conservatives and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew. conservative.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Russell Sias -LaPaz co chrRussell Sias, County Chair, La Paz County- We Are Being Duped #10: I cannot resist. Recently, I posted, an existing bylaw reference, EXACTLY as it was written as of last July, when I copied them from the state web site. Please notice the misspelling. Remember a few weeks ago, when they disappeared from the web site? When I mentioned this disappearance in these Briefs, an excuse followed that it was an inadvertent mistake, and I was chastised for not contacting somebody (instead of embarrassing them) about the missing bylaws. Shortly thereafter, they were put back up on the state web site. Remember? Well, on the now newly posted copy of our bylaws on the state web site, the spelling error has been corrected! Ask yourself, how did that happen? Now, I am not a parliamentarian, but I do know that even such minor things as spelling error corrections MUST BE approved by a 2/3 vote of the body. This is no big deal. It’s done routinely. But, the change begs two questions: What else changed? It is becoming more and more apparent, even to the simple things such as this example demonstrates, that the cabal simply ignores Robert’s Rules of Order, as well as our bylaws. They do so routinely, with impunity, and have been doing so for so long that they don’t even recognize or understand they are violating the trust we have placed in them. Are we going to restore “membership” control of our party, or let the cabal run OUR PARTY as they darn well please?

Brian Reilly, Former LD22PC: Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has announced that he is running to represent the state of Arizona in the U.S. Senate. According to a January 9, 2018, report by AZCentral , Arpaio is quoted as saying “…I am fed up with career politicians and their talking points, saying one thing and doing another.” (1.) His remark brings to mind the August 1, 2017, Los Angeles Times article that recounts Joe Arpaio’s promise to serve only one term, if elected Maricopa County Sheriff in 1992. (2.) Arpaio went on to seek reelection an additional 5 times, serving 6 terms. Arpaio’s career as sheriff lasted 24 years. Apparently, some politicians will say anything to get elected and some have a short memory. In 2016, Arpaio was soundly defeated in his bid for a 7th term as sheriff by the voters of Maricopa County. Now he’s expecting that the voters of Arizona will have forgotten about his criminal conviction as a result of his defiance of a federal court order, (3.) give him a pass and embrace his campaign for the U.S. Senate. To quote Joe Arpaio, “I am fed up with career politicians and their talking points, saying one thing and doing another.” At 85 years of age, and with all the baggage that he carries as “America’s Most Expensive Former Sheriff” I believe that a better candidate must be found in the Republican Party to represent the state of Arizona in the United States Senate. Arpaio is not the one for the job. (1.) former-sheriff-joe-arpaio-says-he-running-senate-arizona (2.) la-na-arpaio-timeline (3.) Arpaio-Criminal-Contempt-Verdict

LeskoHeadshot2013State Senator and Senate President Pro-Tempore Debbie Lesko resigned from the state Senate yesterday, paving the way for her to concentrate full time on her run for the open Congressional District 8 seat vacated by Trent Franks. Lesko, who served nine years in the Legislature, said she was honored to represent residents of the Northwest Valley. "It has been an absolute honor and privilege to work for the people of Peoria, Glendale, Surprise, El Mirage, Youngtown and the Sun City communities over the last 9 years", Lesko said.  "It will be my honor to continue that hard work in Congress if I am elected in the special election." Lesko is one of the leading contenders running to replace Franks, who resigned in 2017. Two surveys of CD8 voters by independent pollsters show her to be a top contender. Lesko attended Monday's opening ceremonies for the 2018 legislative session where she listened to Gov. Doug Ducey’s State of the State Address.  In her time at the Legislature, Lesko gained a reputation for taking on big, important issues that others would not take on and for getting them done. Lesko sponsored historic pension reform legislation that saves taxpayers hundreds of millions, tackled tax reform that reduced taxes and regulations, and helped author balanced state budgets as Chairwoman of the Senate Appropriations committee.  In addition to taking on the big issues, Lesko sponsored legislation that directly helped her constituents.  Lesko changed state law to eliminate photo radar cameras on state highways including the one on Grand Avenue in El Mirage, sponsored legislation to ensure that golf cart owners in the Sun Cities can safely use their carts on the roadway without being ticketed, sponsored legislation that gives patients a way to settle surprise medical bills and testified against unfair utility rate increases.

Kelli ward 2015Dr. Kelli Ward’s campaign chair Ed Rollins on the announcement by Sheriff Joe Arpaio to enter the race for U.S. Senate in Arizona: "Dr. Ward has great respect for Sheriff Joe Arpaio and welcomes him to the race," said Rollins. "His candidacy shows that conservatives in Arizona are fed up with the status quo and know that we need senators who support President Trump and the America First agenda. If Martha McSally jumps into the race, she will be just another version of Jeff Flake. She's weak on immigration, supports amnesty, and opposes the border wall. She refused to support Donald Trump as a candidate, and she has been critical of him as president as well as his White House team. Let's be clear, Jeff Flake chose not to run because of the success of Dr. Ward's campaign and her broad support across Arizona. Her candidacy is built on a strong set of principles and issues, and we feel very confident in our position in the race."
