1-23-18 Briefs

Gila County Chairman Gary Morris reports continued progress in Republican voter registrations. State-wide, the AZGOP reports registrations for Republicans increased last year at a rate of 55 to 1 Democrat. In 2010, Gila County Republicans were 14 percent BEHIND Democrats. Today, Gila County Republicans are 29.4 percent AHEAD of Democrats (a 43 percent swing). Last quarters registration rate was 65 Republicans to 1 Democrat! Way to go Gary!
Navajo County Republican Committee Steven Slaton reports that he and the NCRC executive board have filed a civil suit CV201800011.pdf against Sen Sylvia Allen and Jimmy Vance, of the Navajo County Republicans Club, alleging they are portraying themselves as the NCRC. See Republicans of Navajo County
Gila County Chairman Gary Morris and Andy McKenney, immediate past president of the Rim Country Republican Club, have a one-hour monthly radio show at 9 am on Payson’s local KMOG 14120 AM. The next s how is Feb. 12.
Former Graham County Sheriff Richard Mack responds to Denise Reilly’s false accusations that he ordered innocent civilians in harm’s way during the standoff with Federal agents with the Bundy family in 2014: "Let me make it perfectly clear that putting the women at the front was never planned by anyone. Not at any time did the Bundy family, the CSPOA or any of the Oath Keepers make any suggestion to use women as shields or to put them in front, and children were never mentioned at all. I did not even see any children at the scene, yet many of the commentaries on my statements say that I said to ‘put the women and children at the front’.
“I was proud to lead a delegation of Arizona state legislators – whose participation expenses were personally paid for by me – to bring a halt to any assault by Federal law enforcement on these innocent civilians. Those actions have since been validated by a US District Court judge who dismissed all charges against the Bundy family. During the trial the judge ruled that government lawyers suppressed key evidence that would have been favorable to the defendants’ case — including suppression of evidence from FBI surveillance cameras recording the Bundy family home and the presence of federal snipers around the property ahead of the standoff, among other omissions. As the only candidate in this race who has defended the Constitution against government overreach and won a US Supreme Court lawsuit against the President of the United States, I reject any assertion that as a former member of law enforcement that I would ever endanger the lives of my fellow citizens for any reason.”
Mack is a nationally known conservative who won a US Supreme Court case against President Clinton over the Brady Gun Bill. Since that landmark Supreme Court ruling Mack has written six books and appeared at over 120 conservative political rallies nationwide. He has stood against the incursions of the Federal Government and has fought for civil rights from Hawaii to Bangor, Maine. He is the Founder and President of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA) and is in the NRA Hall of Fame.
Marianne Ferrari, LD20 PC and State Committeman – In reply to Denise Reilly, who mentioned the Bundy Ranch standoff: At first it seemed unnecessary to me, for the women to be upfront, during that tense confrontation in which the Bundy ranch family and their supporters faced down heavily armed federal operatives. But that’s what may have won the day, in the end. Women wanted to be, and were indeed upfront--along with the men and throughout the crowd that walked right up to the fence that separated them from the armed feds. All of those patriots—both men and women--were unarmed, as best I could see (and I studied that film very hard, looking for weapons). They almost ambled, rather than walked, so slow and casual was their approach toward the fence that separated them from the armed feds who were aiming high-powered rifles right at them. Clearly, the Bundy people who were walking were signaling that they had no aggressive intent. I believe those men and women won the standoff, by approaching without menace, but with incredible courage. At times like this—as in our own Revolutionary War--we’re all in it together, men, women, AND children. We share the same danger, because every one of our lives is identically menaced by an encroaching federal government that has been hijacked by a faithless and pitiless movement bent on giving the United Nations the authority to rule as a global government, with absolute power over every single human being on earth. The Bundy family and their supporters were staring right into the face of that monster, that day. The women who showed such courage did yeoman’s work in this fight to save America, and I’m glad they did.
LD21 PC Randy Miller Response to Denise Reilly 1-22-18 briefs,: Former Sheriff Richard Mack said what was in the video. However, the full context of what was said is not presented. Based on the limited footage presented, it would seem inappropriate. I was part of an informally organized state sovereignty committee with legislators, city councilmen/women, county supervisors and county sheriff’s administrators from other counties. There were at least 35 of us plus other high-profile community members, including Sheriff Mack.
We followed the Bundy situation very closely. Many of us were there to intervene in the BLM’s illegal land grab and violation of the Bundy’s constitutional rights; and we had briefings on the situation from boots on the ground. What you apparently don’t know is that the women volunteered to stand up front with their husbands and family members (conveniently left out of the footage). It wasn’t a strategy to place innocent women in the front alone as you represented. They wanted to be on the line with their husbands because they believed so strongly about what they went to do. Nobody wanted to deny them their right to do so. So, if the BLM fired upon them, which they threatened to do, they would be firing on innocent women in front of the media for all to see, Mack included. That was the point Mack wanted to get out to the BLM. He wanted BLM to know this as a strategy point of information to get them to think. You know what, it worked.
Apparently, you don’t know that a member of the Nevada Board Of Agriculture wrote a scathing letter to the board expressing serious concerns about how the federal government conducted their operations. It stated “…it appears the Bundy’s procedural due process rights may have been violated”. Further, it states that the BLM violated Nevada state laws, which is supreme in this case, as well as federal laws It also stated that Clark County Sheriff Gillespie was seriously derelict in his duties to protect his citizens from illegal federal actions and violated his duty to keep the peace.
Mack stood up to this serious federal overreach yet again and not one federal legislator stood by his side! Shame on them. We need to send a representative to Washington that has the proven experience, knowledge or strength to do what needs to be done. The case against the Bundy’s was finally thrown out of court! Editor’s note: contact at for a copy of The Nevada State Board Of Agriculture board member’s letter. The five page document is too long to post in briefs.
State Committeeman Bill Beard: The Arizona Republican Party Resolutions Committee voted to deny the Jan 27 (state meeting) presentation of my Resolution regarding the use of Paper Ballots within the Republican Party. While I am frustrated by comments members of the committee made regarding the efficacy and practicality of this Resolution I stand firm in my belief that the issue of the paper ballot is not something that will disappear from party discussions anytime soon.
I believe that I am well within my Rights as an elected State Committeeman to bring this motion to the floor through a petition drive. A petition requires 20% of the members present to sign said petition requesting that this be debated on the floor. While I believe there is strong sentiment to do so within the party I am asking those that support my Resolution to refrain from doing so at this time. It has come to my attention that there are some that want to utilize my Resolution to drive a wedge into the party in an attempt to attack or disparage the current and/or former leaders of the party.
The issue at hand is about the integrity of the election process both within the party and in the broader voting population. I will not take part in any attempt to use this issue to dilute the original intent of my Resolution. The integrity of our electoral system requires that we all remain focused on the task at hand – ensuring that the system we inherited remain a symbol of, by and for self-governance. Electronic balloting provides no security guarantees as I am reminded that every fool-proof system designed by man is merely biding time for someone else to prove the first one a fool. Being a part of any attempt to draw attention to the deeds, misdeeds or other perceived slights by the former, current or any future leaders of the party does a disservice to anyone that would sign on to such an attempt. I will not allow my name nor my Resolution to be a part of such a plan.
I believe this issue will remain at the forefront of voter concerns about the integrity of all elections unless we take a firm stand about how we conduct ourselves. I will use my time over the coming months to educate party activists (supporters and detractors) about my concerns. Should this prove fruitful I hope to return at a future meeting with a positive affirmation. Contact me at 520-419-2757 or I will be happy to discuss this issue individually or with your group.
Activist Archie Dicksion: Do we need any better evidence on the need to limit proxies in the Republican Party than this open solicitation for proxies.
Hello LD-15 State Committeemen: By now you should have received your call letter for the annual mandatory meeting of the state committee of the Arizona Republican party. On behalf of the LD-15 executive team I am asking that you please help us reach our goal of 100% attendance by taking a moment to fill out this short  attendance form. Please contact me if you have questions or need any help. Thank you for your support and we hope to see you at the meeting. Cheers, Jack Clark - LD-15 Nominations Chair, Justine Precinct
Should they not be insisting that the people elected as State Committeemen attend the Mandatory Meeting? The borders of LD-15 ranges from about 10 miles to no more than 30 miles from the meeting site?
Bruce M Piepho PC/State Committeeman Cochise County.  Thank you Joe Negalia! If you are a Precinct Committeeman/woman and/or State Committeeman/woman or just a Republican voter you must like this posting by Joe Neglia as it is an excellent insight to what is wrong with the AZGOP.  I was in the parking lot getting signatures for the McCain "anyone but McCain" censorship and was one of the speechless PCs because of lack of education on Roberts Rules of Order (RRO).  I have observed the lack of RRO understanding at other GOP meetings such as in Cochise county and LD14. Recognizing the need for RRO knowledge, we held a RRO introduction presentation at our LD14 meeting conducted by a registered parliamentarian.  I observed that lesson as insufficient to translate into action at a meeting with a presiding hired gun parliamentarian.  My knowledge of "calling for a division of the house" or "appeal decision of the chair" is too limited to take on these hired guns.  If you have never heard of such "words" then you need help.  So I have been advising have your own parliamentarian stand by your side to advise you when speaking at the microphone. Even a successful chairman such as at the recent MCR meeting may not be up to challenge this type of presiding "chair" parliamentarian.  And I do believe they will attempt to sweep Bylaw Proposal D and Bylaw Proposal O through by a motion or amended motion along with other useful bylaw amendments. One final note - There will be many Maricopa county LD State Committeemen/women with proxies who back the GOPe at the mandatory meeting.
Ren Ramsey – Chairman of Committee to Protect Citizen Liberties and AZGOP CD6 Member-at-Large: (Part 1) Arizona is at the forefront of an epoch making scandal of abuse of power and corruption targeting the Trump Campaign/Transition/Administration. In essence, FBI/DOJ officials engaged in a conspiracy to hide the abuse of the National Security apparatus by Obama/Clinton/DNC, and against US Citizens, the Trump Campaign and even President Trump. Over the course of 8 years this group weaponized national intelligence and coordinated with private groups to persecute American political opponents, which later escalated into undermining the Trump Campaign and attempting to overthrow the Trump Presidency. Collectively they and their operatives have been termed the “black hats” of the Deep State.
However, starting with NSA Director Admiral Mike Rodgers, “white hats” within the Deep State starting fighting back by exposing this criminal operation. Additionally, other persons associated with the Trump campaign began writing and speaking of their experience at the hands of the black hats. Consequently, with this evidence on hand, NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers, Chairman Devin Nunes and ODNI Dan Coats and certain other persons in and out of the Trump Administration have begun the process to completely expose the corruption of the National Security apparatus and purge of it of these criminals.
That has now brought us to the point where in the next few weeks, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) will publicize a memo outlining the conspiracy. The memo will show this was essentially a political opposition campaign being conducted inside the government for a considerable period of time. The information gathered on Obama/Clinton’s political opposition, was then weaponized against the candidacy and Presidency of Donald Trump and the careers and lives of his volunteers, staff, and surrogates.
On the one hand, US Taxpayers were funding what is in essence a DNC Opposition Research operation against the Trump Campaign/Presidency. On the other hand they were also funding a Clinton Crime family Operational Security program to protect and disguise the corrupt racketeering the Clintons and DNC undertook with the foreigners. Furthermore, some Intelligence Community subject matter experts believe the operation is also a Counter-Intelligence Operation to undermine the Trump Administration’s efforts to discover a Chinese espionage ring of historic proportions inside the highest levels of both parties and the government and corporate world. The totality of this scandal is called the Big Ugly. Our question: Will the Arizona GOP be silent in the face of Big Ugly?
LD17 PC Gina Ray (Mommy Lobby AZ) to Dr. Robert Branch: Quite a few parents were shocked and surprised to see your comments on the 1-18-18 briefs.  From reading your comments, one would gather that you do not have a complete understanding of what is really going on in today’s classroom —which is very disappointing as a candidate for SPI.
First of all, you have a massive misunderstanding on the recess issue.  The traditional three 15 minute recess has been eliminated in most schools across the state.  Many schools are now down to ONE 10 minute recess per day and some have NO recess at all!  These are not college students— but little kids!  They need to move!  Studies have shown that physical activity improves academic performance.  Americans are well known for their creativity and ingenuity —unlike China where academics are all that matters.  We make entrepreneurs and inventors in the USA.  Recess promotes these desirable American characteristics. Recess is correlated with improved student behavior in the classroom. Recess also promotes social skills and helps kids learn how to deal with bullying —which is the opposite of giving them “comfort lamas and safe places”, as you stated.
Second, the AzMerit is the new Federally pushed Common Core test.  Of course our children will perform poorly on it!  It is a Common Core test!  Common Core is not developmentally appropriate and is not a time proven method of teaching.  AzMERIT is designed to be a high-stakes test –even though no validation or field testing was done.  As for the AzMERIT test’s academics, barring independent, peer-reviewed documentation, it is not possible to honestly claim that AzMERIT measures what it claims to measure – academics – in a valid manner.   Therefore, the AzMerit test scores mean little or nothing.  In addition,“testing” is not the same as “teaching”, as you inferred.  Today’s test prep averages 2 months long —2 months of wasted academic time.
Parents are yearning for schools to return back to the traditional elements of public education that made America great.  Please do not attack other candidates that speak out for parent wishes for traditional recess and less testing.  We are the most important stakeholders in education, because they are our children.

Candidate for CD 8 Clair Van Steenwyk: I got a new Push Poll Saturday evening in CD 8's Special Primary. This Push poll was obvious in its attempt to drive voters from one candidate to another, with information even more damning statements made by the sponsor, yes I did say sponsor.  The push poll remarks about a couple of candidates were almost word for word what I heard at the Candidate Forum Saturday about Bob Stump, and also included very damning remarks about the other two career politicians, which proved to me which candidate is concerned enough to finance this type of poll to gain advantage over the others mentioned in the poll.
I'd never support him as I this turns off the voters and most certainly should be stated in the light of day by the guy paying for it, not in some shadowy Push Poll. One question most people should ask themselves is “just how low will this guy stoop to gain office”, while trying to prove how conservative he is, guess that so called GOP 11th Commandment has lost its glow when a career is at risk.  I'm not mentioned in it once again, but I do see the hypocrisy in this as the guy seems so kind publicly, but now there's political blood in the water and he's taken on the task of a SHARK - you know eats anything and everything - however this particular campaign is sinking to new lows.
I wish more people had attended the Forum in Sun City West today and then gotten the poll, as they'd have known very quickly by comments pointed at one candidate and then almost word for word repeated in the poll who's paying for it. I only hope & pray this guy loses or someone exposes him; however, since he's the only one without really bad comments made about him it’s easy to figure out. By the way, the poll only named the 4 Career Candidates and then the term others for myself and everyone else, so looks like even though I'm in the Forums he won't put my name in a poll as it might get voters to google me.
Maricopa County Republican Committee (MCRC) First Vice Chair candidate Art Olivas: I sent out a list of self-proclaimed RINOs on 09/10 /2017 saying that in my eyes they were Jon Kyl, Jeff Flake And John McCain's people! They are damn sure not Trump's. I also ask people print it so they would have a copy of the people who are responsible for Arizona's swamp and cesspool of pro-illegal immigrants. It is my firm belief that we must purge all RINOs to save our city, state and take back the Republican Party to the conservative organization it was meant to be. So help us GOD to have the guts to stand up to these self-proclaimed Republicans In Name Only and vote them out of office before they too start waving the Mexican flag in our faces. By keeping them in office we may have Mexican Mayor Kate Gallego Wake up Arizona!! If something is not true here let me know so I can correct it for sure! The truth has to come out.
