In An Effort To Provide Easy Access To Elected Officials Financial Disclosure Statements, Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan has announced the 2018 reports are now available online. "These statements give people the ability to review a politicians business interests, debts and other financial information,” said Secretary Reagan.  “Over the year’s we’ve developed a system that posts these documents online giving the public another tool to hold elected officials accountable.  Combined with our new campaign finance website, people can now get a much better understanding of the financial interests of their representatives in state government.” State law requires the filing of a Financial Disclosure Statement for those who served as a public officer at any time during the previous calendar year.  They include a listing of employers, businesses, sources of income, real estate, debts, gifts and special meetings and conferences they attended. 2018 Financial Disclosures Statements are available at:

Authorities Just Detained More Than 500 Illegal Immigrants Trying to Get Into US More than 500 undocumented migrants attempting to reach the United States were detained by Mexican authorities over the weekend after being kept in what could be considered inhumane conditions. Through a series of operations, authorities discovered that smugglers were trafficking the migrants by way of unventilated trucks with no food or water. More than 200 others were also found in the state of Tamaulipas, which borders the U.S., amid over-crowded “safe houses” often used by criminal gangs.
On February 1, the Maricopa County Superior Court Clerk’s Office expanded its process of providing electronically certified copies of certain court documents. Applying an electronic certification to an electronic or paper document is a change from the traditional format of manually applying a raised certification seal onto paper.Features of eCertification include:
· Non-raised Maricopa County Superior Court seal
· Statutory eCertification language
· Date and time the eCertification was completed
· Name of the deputy clerk performing the eCertification
· A statement of electronic certification
A unique certified document-file locator number to identify each eCertified document.
eCertification started as a pilot program with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office in 2013 and is being expanded to federal, state, and local agencies and to the general public. The unique certified document-file locator allows the Clerk’s office to verify the exact document that was certified – something that is not possible with raised seals.
The Superior Court Clerk’s Office now accepts online appointments for issuing marriage licenses and processing passport applications at its regional locations (Customer Service Center, Southeast Court Complex, Northeast Regional Court, and Northwest Regional Court). From the Clerk’s website, customers will use a “Book Now” button that will take them to the Clerk’s AppointmentPlus website to schedule the customer’s time, location, and services. The “Book Now” button will be on the Clerk’s marriage license webpage ( and on the Clerk’s passport webpage ( Customers are encouraged to read the webpages before their appointment for links to required forms, items to bring to the appointment, and other information and to read the entire confirmation email for important information about their appointment. Customers can only make appointments at Clerk’s office locations using the “Book Now” buttons. They cannot schedule a marriage license appointment at a justice court, or a passport appointment at one of the post offices.

As a result of the special session on opiates and the Rep Don Shooter expulsion, the schedule has been set back. Just pick the ones that are most important and forget the rest.

Connie Uribe, Yuma County PC: As a physician and educator, I applaud Senator Sylvia Tenney Allen on her take on SB 1391, the schools suicide prevention training bill. I recall meeting a young man who said he had an interest in medicine, and I invited him to shadow me for a day. One event he participated in was the autopsy of a woman who had committed suicide. Months later I met the boy’s parents and they confessed they had been concerned about his depression, but since that day, their son was actively preaching to other kids at school why they should never think of killing themselves. His main reason? He described in detail what happened to their bodies after they died. This teen became a paramedic. Not all stories end so well. We’ve all been affected by the tragedy of teen suicide to some degree, but I hate to see our legislature impose more regulations on already burdened educators. Teachers are, for the most part, attentive and intuitive. They know a troubled student when they see one. They don’t need to be bound by statute or forced into more training. Our kids are getting too much time off from school as it is. Add to that shows on TV glamorizing suicide, and we’re in the midst of what might seem a losing battle. The Senator is correct in the problem’s first line of defense being the family. We’re seeing the effects of the Left’s destruction of the nuclear family, but there’s a limit to what the old term in loco parentis really means. To make teachers take the place of mom and dad, especially with their hands tied by the government, paints the perfect socialist picture. The best way to help our teachers is with tight, concerned family units, not more policies and procedures.
Former AZGOP Chairman Tom Morrissey: If you have a chance to spend some time listening to my radio show tomorrow (Thurs) on KRIM 96.3 FM in Payson or on (app) among other things I will be playing some of the music I wrote for Ray Charles and Richie Havens and/or recorded with the Echoes and Red Hook (Post Ohio Express days). The show is on at 3 to 5 PM Arizona Time (5 -7 PM East Coast time).  Ted Nugent will be joining me on-air for a discussion about his fabulous career and music in an upcoming show. Hope you can join us for that one especially

AFA Team: The Trump Poll will be going away in the next couple of days.  If you didn't record your vote, be sure to do so.  See our Home Page, left column:

Army Specialist (ret.) Alexis Jacquez Gamez:  I am a wounded warrior and Purple Heart recipient, who has served my country honorably. Recently, it was brought to my attention that Congressman Raul Grijalva is using my fellow veterans to sell himself once again to the residents of CD3. Earlier this month, Rep. Grijalva announced that he was "gathering Valentines for Veterans." This publicity stunt might bring him good press, and might bring a fleeting moment of joy to our hard pressed warriors, but it does nothing to make up for the fact that he has neglected veterans for years. In December, I led a group of veterans to recruit Mr. Sergio Arellano, an Army Combat Infantry Veteran that served with the Big Red One to challenge Rep. Grijalva. I've said this before, and will say it to anyone who is willing to listen and cares about the people of CD3 and our great nation: Sergio is a fresh face and a selfless leader, who is constantly working to help his community, veterans, and others in need. Sergio is not going to be a career politician, who sways in the political wind. I have seen first-hand that Sergio is someone who cares about our country. Sergio is someone that I’ve had a lot of personal experience with, and have had the pleasure of knowing. When I was in need, it was Sergio, who helped me. Sergio stepped-up and was my advocate. It is because of Sergio that I was able to get the help I need due to my combat injuries. Sergio was an infantryman just like I was, and he knows what it’s like to take the oath. He knows what it means to stand up for the Constitution. To protect and defend something that valuable. He won’t be afraid to take on tough topics and special interests. I am asking you to give veterans a real Valentine this year and contribute to Arellano For AZ.
Congresswoman Martha McSally today blasted the media for playing into North Korea’s propaganda campaign while covering Kim Jong Un’s sister at the Olympics. “Having been in the military myself, we spend a lot of time focusing also on information warfare and how our enemies use that against us as a domain. I was cringing with Kim Jong Un’s sister at the Olympics at not only how she was received, but also how she was treated by the—at best—na├»ve media and their coverage of her. She is the head of the Department of Propaganda and Agitation and responsible, as part of this brutal regime for the lack of human rights, the death, and the torture of many citizens. You know what this regime is like. And the fact that our media would play into this is just embarrassing and disgusting to me,” McSally said while questioning Admiral Harry Harris, Commander of United States Pacific Command (PACOM). Admiral Harris agreed that it was “clearly a charm offensive” and that it “behooves us not to be charmed.” He agreed with the Congresswoman that the media was being a tool of North Korea’s information warfare.  McSally also asked him how last week’s budget agreement, including $700b for FY18 and $716b for FY19 would impact the military’s fight against North Korea. Admiral Harris expressed his gratitude for what he dubbed an “outstanding” bill, and he expounded on what the funding specifically translates into on the Korean peninsula.“MK (“Mark”) 48 torpedoes; long range anti-surface missiles; training for our Air Force and Navy fighter pilots; significant things like that that we’ve lost the opportunity to do over the last several years, and we’ll be able to recapture that,” he testified. Read the Hill’s coverage of this story HERE.
Supt of Public Instruction candidate Frank Riggs: These school shootings, like the one yesterday in Parkland, Florida, are horrible and traumatic, and far too frequent!  They're hard to anticipate, but I'm going to use my background as a police officer, deputy sheriff, criminal investigator, and crime prevention specialist to make our Arizona schools as safe as possible. No other candidate for AZ Supt. of Public Instruction has my background of education AND law enforcement experience (  I want every school to be a safe learning community.  It will be the first and most important job of the AZ Dept. of Education under my leadership.
I agree with President Trump: "My prayers and condolences to the families of the victims of the terrible Florida shooting.  No child, teacher or anyone else should ever feel unsafe in an American school."

Secretary of State Michele Reagan: This year the legislature has an opportunity to secure our voter data and improve election integrity. Arizona’s statewide voter registration system is in desperate need of replacement. The system is antiquated and its outdated code presents continuing cyber-security challenges that could leave voter data vulnerable. The state and counties issued a request for proposal to obtain a new voter registration system. We are pleased to report that process is complete and a new contract was awarded. That new voter registration solution will be called AVID – the Access Voter Information Database. We are extremely grateful to Governor Ducey for including $2.1 million in his FY19 Executive Budget proposal to facilitate Arizona acquiring this new voter registration system and the legislature to include its funding in the final budget. The entire activity of voter registration and voter record maintenance is a collaboration between the Secretary of State’s Office and the County Recorders. As with any major computer system acquiring and implementing are not the end of the financial investment, there are ongoing maintenance and operation costs. AVID letter_to_leg.pdf
