timothy Schwartz-Timothy LD30 1 VCLD30 Activist Timothy Schwartz: There has been a lot of conjecture about the "blue wave" phenomenon, is it coming, or just wishful thinking on the part of the democrats? That question was answered last night! Last night here in Arizona we had the CD8 race to replace the open seat left by retiring trent franksTrent Franks. The results were very telling, and no less an eye opener. The Blue Wave is no longer a theory, it's here. It's important to note that Arizona's CD8 is the 4th Largest Republican District in the nation. There is no way that ANY Democrat should have come within 20 points of the Republican nominee. President Trump won CD8 by 21 points. Republicans have held CD8 by large margins since 1980, close to 40 years.

Debbie Lesko     So how did an unknown newbie to politics come within 5 points against a well-known seasoned member of the Arizona Legislature? And how did this happen even after the RNC spent $1.3 Million to help Debbie Lesko, yet the DNC chipped in a meager $175,000 for their new-named Democrat? A Democrat whose resume lists herself as an emergency room doctor, yet the facts show she hasn't worked in that position since 2007 because of a major malpractice suit against her. And still a 5 point spread? Two of the reasons:

     1. The Democrats worked very hard. And, the democrat foot soldiers were paid...even though their sponsorship did not come from the DNC. In recent years, these huge donations came from George Soros and his Super Pacs. Today we can add that these operations are being funded by Tom Steyer, Steven Spielberg, Miley Cyrus, Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney and many other wealthy persons from both Hollywood and Silicon Valley. Massive sums of cash is being unleashed to buy America's government.

     2. If the Democrats had really wanted CD8, the DNC could have matched the RNC's one million and walked away with the prize. But the DNC's war chest is reported to have a see-thru bottom, so it's likely they're reserving cash for other races.

As I've mentioned before, the democrats are busy registering NEW voters, and the Republicans remain focused on contacting their existing base. The signs are there, the "Wave" is coming! Might be time to put on the tennis shoes and sunscreen.

Kelli Ward 2017 2LD3 PC Kate Dionne: I had quite a chuckle followed by anger after reading Kelli Ward’s campaigns latest spin in the 04/4-26-18-briefs. Ward touts a litany of high profile advisors working on her campaign which no doubt are being paid quite a bit of her donor’s money. She goes on to brag about her campaign has raised over $2 million after running for over 15 months. What she fails to include is that she only has $432,000 cash on hand as of the end of the first quarter and is spending roughly $103,000 per month. FEC Report With all these high paid consultants, her daughter who recently just graduated college is now on the campaign payroll receiving $1,427 every two weeks! Ward then goes on to brag about a poll that has her leading her Republican opponents by nine points. What she neglects to include is the poll only had a sample size of 302 primary voters. AZ Sen race Heating Up. She also neglects to mention that the same poll surveyed 600 people for the general election and has her losing to Kyrsten Sinema by 10 points!

It’s worth noting another poll conducted right around the same time tells a completely different story. This poll has a sample size of 755 primary voters versus 302 in the other poll. 2018-Senate-Republican-Primary-Survey- This poll has McSally at 36%, Arpaio 26% and Ward at 25%. Let us not forget when Ward ran against McCain and was using this poll to claim she was going to win! Kelli-Ward-Beats-John-McCain-In-New-Az-Poll She was beating McCain by nine points in this poll and what was the final outcome of that race? McCain beat her handily garnering 53% of the vote to her 37%. The original poll had her winning by 9% and she lost by 16% with a net difference of 25%. I’d say that’s extremely significant. I urge everyone to do your own research and don’t be fooled by the spin.

Bruce Piepho - 2Bruce M Piepho, Cochise County PC/SC: Jim VanceJim Vance did not ignore or disregard the NCRC by-laws. He did not believe an appointed secretary would issue the call letter.  If he had called for a Special Meeting the concern was the call letter not being issued. If the appointed secretary did not comply, then proceed with officer removal at any time at any meeting at any place. People need to read the details in the NCRC By-laws. The NCRC by-laws adopted January 5, 2017 are not in compliance with the AZGOP by-laws. There are many reasons for an update to the NCRC by-laws. Most important - the Treasurer and Secretary must be elected.

In Jill Skaufel’s note me, she stated: In the NCRC Bylaws 2017 that Steve Slaton passed, Steve Slaton 2there are major conflicts with the AZGOP Bylaws. The NCRC Bylaws clearly provide that: These Bylaws apply to the NCRC and may not conflict with the Continuing Bylaws of the Arizona Republican Party. Slaton changed the Bylaws to describe the Statutory Elected Officers of Treasurer and Secretary as Appointed Officers (by him). He designated First Vice Chairman and Second Vice-Chairman to be Statutory Elected Officers. I do not think he understands the word ‘Statutory’. That is not only in conflict with AZGOP Bylaws but also state statute.

Since the Secretary and Treasurer were not elected PCs but appointed by Steve, he could terminate them at any time. Why would he do that? Well, when his appointed Treasurer stepped out of line because he had a different opinion than Steve, Steve terminated him and made it headline news in the local paper. I suppose this was an attempt by Steve to humiliate the treasurer and intimidate anyone else who might disagree with him. Surely those positions are to be elected so that the only way they could be removed would be by a 2/3 vote of the committee, not the decision of one man. In Slaton’s NCRC, the only elected officers of the executive committee were Chairman Steve Slaton, VC Karen MacKean and 2nd VC Paul CorathersAll other officers were appointed by Steve and could be terminated at any time.”

PCs need the recourse to remove a secretary, if he/she does not call a meeting as directed in the by-laws. NCRC by-laws also need revision of meeting quorum requirements as well as better specifically stating the procedure for office removal.

mark lewis (2)Activist Mark Lewis: Solar billionaire Tom Steyer is under investigation by the AZ Attroney Generals office for his 50% solar tax ballot measure. Rep. Vince Leach made a criminal referral for fraudulent campaign practices by signature gathering firms. clean-energy-campaign-referred-to-attorney. If PCs see people collecting signatures, get a video of them on your phone and post it to Facebook so we can check out the details. A 50% solar tax would mandate $500 per house per year for solar panels that don't work at night.

tom morrisseyFormer AZGOP Chairman Tom Morrissey: Just wanting to share some VERY good news about Steven Seagal steven seagaland my latest novel.  It is, as of today, a best seller on the Amazon Kindle genre lists - "Conflict of Laws" (#2), "Natural Law"(#3), "Social Security"(#6). (All of these genres contain at least 10,000 books.) This is significant for several reasons, first, the swamp dwellers have not been able to sink this book, despite their best efforts and second, we are about to be distributed by the world's other major book distributor, Ingram Spark which can bring copies of the book into the stores in English speaking countries around the world.  We thank you all for helping us get here and now ask another favor of you, please ask others to request in the coming weeks, "The Way Of The Shadow Wolves" at Barnes and Noble, Walmart and Sam's Club and even Costco stores. This will be of enormous help to us. If we are to shake the stranglehold of the deep state swamp, one of the ways we can do it, is to challenge them in the creative arts like books, movies and TV series. The liberal point of view has dominated all of these creative areas for many years and that has eroded common sense and true understanding good and evil.

Mark LewisActivist Mark Lewis: I am happy to report that Gov. Doug Ducey signed the tax relief bill on coal for the Navajo and Hopi miners to save 1,100 jobs. arizona-governor-oks-tax-break-for-power-plant-coal We need to give Ducey and republican legislators extra credit for fighting to save jobs in AZ. This tax break only goes into effect if a new buyer is found for the coal plant. Thanks to Rep. Mark Finchem for running point on this new law. This is one of the last remaining victim in the war on coal from the Obama years.

Debbie LeskoAmerican Post-Gazette - Miss Debbie Goes To Washington: To no one’s surprise special interests/lobbyist supporter, Republican Debbie Lesko, won the special election to replace Republican Trent Franks in Arizona’s Eighth Congressional District. She beat the previously unknown rookie Democrat, Hiral Tipirneni, a radical liberal who ran on raising taxes, healthcare for the universe, open borders, killing the Second Amendment, pro-abortion, pro-Planned Parenthood—all the traditional extreme liberal policies the Democrats have become known for.

One would think that a Republican, any Republican, should win in that district, with an 80,000 registered GOP voter advantage, by at least double digits. Lesko won by only five points in a district Donald Trump won by over 20 points 18 months ago. Democrats and the media are going to run that scenario into the ground for the next six months leading up to the November election. They will claim this is more evidence that because of Donald Trump the “Blue Wave” is real and will come crashing into Arizona. It isn’t, and it won’t. The old adage “All politics is local” is still a truism.

The numbers are not important in an off-cycle, special election; the only important thing is who wins. This congressional election, like all congressional elections, came down to the candidates themselves: their credibility; their political attractiveness; their charisma, gravitas, intelligence, and general public appeal--their likeability; and certainly their political party. (One big reason Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema won’t put her party affiliation on her TV ads—she doesn’t want you to know she’s a flaming liberal Democrat! Well, actually, she’s a communist but registered as a Democrat.)

No, this election wasn’t about President Trump. This was about an extreme liberal Democrat, who lied about herself and her opponent, and spent hundreds of thousands of dollars doing it; and about a not-so-appealing Republican candidate who got beat up in her primary race. If the socialist Democrat had won, it would have been dangerous for America. Almost without exception, each race is about the candidate: his or her appeal to the voters and, too often, not about the issues. Emotions almost always drive voters; seldom does logic. This special election was closer than it should have been, but was never really in doubt. Lessons should be learned (but probably won’t be): you need to have a credible candidate to have the best chance of winning. Yours in the Cause of Truth, A. Hamilton

brian reillyBrian Reilly, Former LD22PC: With all of the controversy surrounding the “Red for Ed” movement, teacher protests, and questionable school curriculums, maybe it’s time for parents to step back and consider an alternative to government indoctrination centers, commonly called public schools. Having experienced public schools, my wife Denise and I made the decision to homeschool our son, prior to his birth. We thought that we could instill a love for God, a love for America, and provide a better educational opportunity for our son to meet the challenges of life. Our goal was to help our son become a strong, American citizen as opposed to the public school choice of creating socialistic world citizens. We did our research looking into the homeschooling laws of our state. We spoke to people who we knew were homeschooling and sought recommendations for homeschooling programs. The program that we chose is called Abeka, which is produced by Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, Florida. The program was on video and was complimented by textbooks from Abeka on a wide range of academic subjects. Our son learned to read phonetically and could read any passage in the King James Bible at age 5. We used Abeka from Kindergarten through the 12th grade. I annually conducted the Iowa Test of Basics Skills, produced by the University of Iowa. Our son’s academic achievement scores continued to confirm the benefits of the Abeka program. Our son always scored in the 90 to 95 percentile group and his results always showed that he was 2 to 3 classes ahead of public school students tested on a national basis. Our son could make independent decisions without consulting a group. He could have intelligent conversations with adults. He received his socialization through his parents, his church and sports. He learned about firearm safety when he was 5 and he never was reprimanded for bringing his unloaded, lever action Marlin .22 rifle to our homeschool. Our son graduated from college and he has led a very successful life in business, thanks to his Abeka foundation. The Bible tells us, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. We educated our son God’s way and our family was blessed.

Frank RiggsSupt of public school candidate Frank Riggs: With the teacher strike looming, more parents are giving serious thought to home schooling as an option. I respect and am sightly awed by parents who home-school their children because of the tremendous commitment it takes. Home schooling is proof positive of parental involvement and engagement which are absolutely essential to the successful education of the child in whichever type of schooling - district, charter, private or home schooling - is chosen by their parents. I'm opposed to the federal government or state government exercising any jurisdiction or control over the curriculum or practices of home schooling families. I want to keep home schooling free from any governmental involvement. Arizona's Parental Bill of Rights begins by saying parents "have the right to direct the education of the minor child." That is an acknowledgement of the primary role of parents in the education of their own children. Home schooling is consistent with that fundamental right and responsibility.
